i watched this movie the other day and i love it..but more especially for this song thats playing in the background in particular. I love it so much...just this little bit of the song sounds amazing.
I thought the song in the first part of this clip was so cool when I was little. I spent some time trying to find it but it's not listed on the movie's soundtrack.
Same here. Always loved the Monster's curmudgeonly demeanor and Beatrice's endearing goodness. Think this was the first Hal Hartley movie I saw. I've collected most of Hal Hartley's music, but still haven't come across these tunes.
I always think about how she "forges a relationship" with the monster over a decent amount of time and then she goes back to civilization, has a big party, and sleeps around and then he tries to kill himself.
Can you post the "I remember when you were young...pond scum, just another ooze at the edge of the local warm water..." speech from the press conference scene? It is one of those poignant, poetic movie scenes that sticks with you. I love Hal Hartley....
Just watched Hartley's 'Trust' and 'Amateur' back-to-back today, both wonderful movies, and this looks bizarre as they come, and bizarre is always a good thing in my book.
It is a good thing that the military knew exactly where the reporter was at and that she had an indistructable monster with her without and form of communication with her and decided to tell everyone of him. Good thing that no one cares for a TV being thrown out the window. Good thing she grieved over her fiance. Good thing I am being repetative like the soundtrack and I have probably mispelled some things. The quintessential example of an ill thought out movie. Who the hell took my tea?
She did mourn and was going to kill the monster until she found out he wanted to be left alone to die but people kept looking for him. And the phone call was made by her to certain people. That's how the military found them. Just little details that are kind of explained in the movie if you just pay attention.
@@johnathanking9885 Did GAIL get your comment? Oh, well. But the tv being thrown out the window is the least of one's worries in a fairy tale like this...to me anyway. The hotel maid seemed to care! Who is that actress with the enchanting smile BTW?
