i recall a meme video i saw about this Dora "swiper no swiping!" he replies" Dora! i have had enough of you! i am swiper, swiping is what i do! what will you do if someone says Dora the explorer no exploring!" Dora is speechless he continues "serves you right! let me do my swiping, and i'll leave you to explore as you wish! each of us have our own specialty!"

That really threw me off when I was little kid. Usually when you're tiny and watching those kind of shows you're used to them following their pretty identical rhythm with each episode, so every time he actually managed to swipe something I was just left sitting there like "He can do that?"

Because of this video, I read the "Swiper" page on the Dora the Explorer Wiki... highly recommend. My favorite sentence: "The remainder of the episode chronicled an epic adventure involving most of the land's creatures, eventually ending with the release of Swiper after a dance contest."

Swiper the fox is an ancient fae being who is bound by the same laws as other fae. Long ago, it was discovered that 'Swiper no swiping' is a powerful incantation that can banish him. There is power in using someone's name, and there is power in threes, which is why you must say it three times before it will take effect. As a powerful ancient fae, he cannot ignore such an incantation, and as such must immediately stop what he is doing and leave.
