I ran up a hill to get this footage, I hope you guys enjoy it! I also added a few minutes of footage I got of the white ice that we have out here in places. If you go out on it, you better be prepared to slide if you dont have tracks. Have a good one!

Trevor, thank you Sir for another excellent video. - You da man in my book😊 There is a fair amount of downhill drift with that rig on some of those hillsides. Googling for an oogling about Palouse soil enlightens us in part with this info- " The Palouse is known for its capacity for producing highest wheat yield and quality in the world. Its great productivity is in part because of its deep fertile loessial deposited soils. Deep soils are critical for soil water storage and sustain crops throughout the growing season in dryland wheat production. However, in the Palouse, soil depth varies from less than 2 feet to 245 FEET DEEP as a result of uneven deposition and weathering. Some soils in the Palouse contain dense soils at shallow depth." When one looks at the soil in some of side cut embankments thru some of the hills for the roads, it is obvious that one is looking at deep topsoil, pay dirt for crops, - yaa man.

I never really thought about it, but yeah! At the farm, i believe the well is like 1000 feet deep.

I had no idea anhydrous was used for anything but corn. Learn something new every day!

Yeah, most of the farmers around here use the gas. My dad switched to liquid about 20 years ago but most did not.

On my way to Lewiston from Seattle I took the southern route. I think I saw the seeding tractor along SR12 near Huntsville today. I was hoping to see your sprayer working. I grew up in the Skagit Valley, Mt Vernon, working the big 20 acre parcels of flat land. Thanks for showing the conditions of farming in the south east corner of our state.

Oh wow! You would have missed me. My flat was fixed yesterday, but I have been down since Sunday mid morning. Thanks for stopping by though!

This may be a dumb question but do you use gps with auto steer and have a pattern in those hills or do it the old way, steering manually?
@TrevorStruthers
@TrevorStruthers 7 месяцев назад
Most of it is done by hand. The auto-steer can work, but often is off the mark on the hills. There is a correction for angle, but its not perfect. Plus the Auto Steer gets a bit aggressive when its soft and steep.

In my vector, I do use autosteer on the hills. I try to. My last video about Farming in 4k shows me attempting to use it on the hills in that sprayer.

hi, have any of your neighbours own a cross slot drill ?

What do you mean? Like a conventional disk drill?

Hi Trevor. Would you describe the soil around your farm as sandy.
@TrevorStruthers
@TrevorStruthers 10 месяцев назад
Some of it is at my dads place. There are even blow holes where the sand is making little mini dunes in the CRP. The farther west you go from Prescott, the sandier it becomes. They love growing potatoes out in the irrigated stuff here.

Do you plant wheat again one month after harvest??
@TrevorStruthers
@TrevorStruthers 10 месяцев назад
A week after harvest was over, we had wheat being planted, this year. Usually, by the first week of September, we are starting planting wheat. That meant that last year, we were harvesting and planting at the same time, due to the late start of harvest.

My dad uses two antennas, I believe we may as well. It is a very long piece of equipment with a lot of downhill drift.
