No Till Garden: Basic Layout and Strategy- Part1 

To till or not to till, that is the question.
Year after year we would till in the soil, it makes the dirt soft and easy to work. It also brings up grass and weed seeds to light and they germinate, so we end up weeding and hoeing nonstop which makes the garden less enjoyable.
So we decided to try the no till method. Last year we added leaves to help smother out grass and weeds. This year we used the weed eater and cut any green down to the ground and built planting rows with compost. The heat of the compost will aid in less seeds germinating and break down and improve your existing soil.
We decided to use leaves for our walkways, they are free, and will smother out weeds, and also break down into the soil.
