Fantastic! There was so much to love about this film - especially this house. Very "Bond" indeed. Kudos to the production designers, art directors, and builders who breathed this unique bungalow to life.

For years I’d envisioned my retirement property, and when I saw this I felt the designers dipped into my soul. There’s another detailed video looking at the furniture, books, background context etc. I’d only have a smaller shoal-draft yacht and a Toyota instead of LR, otherwise it’s perfect. Oh and mosquito screens.

Why would they build this and then demolish it? I would have totally bought it and lived there!

Shouldn't the boat be wearing the Blue Ensign rather than Red Ensign? Bond is after all an officer of the Royal Naval Reserve!

Great looking place, fantastic camera work in the film, superb sets, lovely locations, Ana de Armas (cor!!), the Spirit Yacht, great stunts especially the Range Rovers. Shame the film itself was let down by a terrible plot and a baddie who made no sense.

This stupid movie was just SOOOO off-Bond. Having a baby ... dying in the missile strike ... it just goes to show you how tonedeaf Hollywood writers are these days. To have a character, which has lasted 50+ years where each of the films makes more than the last ... and then basically kill off that character, give him a child and open him up to a world of emotion. Bullshit. I understand that Fleming only wrote so many books but they basically took James Bond and crushed every part of him that made him popular and interesting. The past few movies have basically turned Bond into a washed up alcoholic, allowed the bad guys to kill his boss, blow up his HQ, stalk his new family and ultimately kill him. These days Hollywood is so obsessed with bleak, dystopian and grim portraits of the world and characters ... it can't wait to tear down this idol. Which is odd because it is also a cash cow for them. Their need for spreading depression is greater than their need for money, it now seems.

Hollywood are certainly milking franchises these days. You’ve made some interesting points, what would you like to see in a perfect Bond film?

@@captain_morgan4462If I was running the franchise, I'd go back to the Fleming books and re-shoot the series, in order, as the plot/scenes were written in the book, without as many stunts, explosions, etc. and a focus on plot/the character. It's been 50 years since Goldfinger, etc. were made, so audiences would likely not see it as a series of re-makes. People now are obsessed with craftsmanship, authenticity and retro/vintage vibes. Reading the book Live and Let Die, for example, is such a difference from the movie ... maybe audiences wouldn't need such deviation from the events in the book to accommodate all the stunts and explosive action sequences. At this point, James Bond is more Jason Bourne. The franchise lost its way ... why not go back to the one who created it and do 14 new movies based on the old books' content? (Casino Royale being the only one you really couldn't remake.)

I actually assumed this was Fleming's Jamaican house. Wow. Say what you want about this film (it's not perfect by any means) but the production design, the costumes and stunt work were excellent. Having seen interviews from the crew of all these departments their attention to detail is incredible.

100% Agree. This was one of my favorite Bond's for that reason, actually. And the camera / cinematic work was top-notch. Game changing for the genre.
