Our trip for midshore NJ Tuna started with some unexpected conditions at 430am leaving Barnegat Inlet. We headed for the area of the "North Ridge" found good blue water. Trolled, or mowed the ocean, for 3 hours with not a touch. Tried N Ridge, Oles, S Ridge and then decided to hit a wreck. New member Second Mate Mikey took really well to Slow Pitch out fished 3 seasoned anglers and got us to our limit with a 19" fat Seabass. We also had some Ling on the same jigs. Amazing fishing and luckily NJ Black Seabass (Sea Bass) saved the day for us. Master Chef Mike will be cooking the Seabass for our next episode and will share a great Seabass recipe!
