Haven’t watched the whole video yet but this is an amazing concept for a RU-vid channel. I write short stories and have a hard time getting eyes on my work (even those that are published in mags or anthologies) so I can identify with these unseen channels. Great job on giving some exposure to those without name or SOE recognition.

That was great! I loved the setting, you three in Jon’s living room, great aesthetic, emanates a very relaxed and relatable vibe. The videos Jon picked all had a different feel so it kept me hooked and entertained. Love No Views 😄
Dan Trachtenberg directed 10 Cloverfield Lane and Prey (Jeff Cutter was the DP on the short, also the DP on Dan's movies). Keke Palmer's a big name actress too kinda.
When "The River Troll" started, the drone footage looked awfully familiar to me. Then the names in the credits started ringing bells too. About halfway through, I realized it was shot in the town where I went to college. The director was a production assistant on my senior film. At least it was an interesting watch, as opposed to "The Evening Lovers" where nothing happened. Loved seeing a new episode of No Views. I'm working my way through the backlog now. It's like a less cynical, less alcoholic Best of the Worst, and I'm greatly enjoying it.
Fantastic episode. Great chemistry and wonderful commentary on these short films. I also enjoyed seeing some of these shorts themselves so it's a 2 for 1.

That troll short deserves respect just for giving Jon such a hearty laugh, this was a great cozy watch. Except that short, pretty good batch, all had some semblance of quality
19:00 ehh, I think their restraint was far more effective than the stock sounds y’all added to try and enhance their work after lmao. If anything, student film’s go way over the top with their sound design in an attempt to compensate for their small budget. It’s refreshing (and more akin to reality) hearing a minor body hit during a fight scene, as opposed to what sounds like canned spinach, unless you’re making something heightened and hokey like Evil Dead 2.
You can of course argue that the stock sound effects I used for demonstration are too much, but it seems obvious to me that the lack of sound and the over-the-top subtly of the original made it feel to me like we were suddenly cutting to a prop knife in someone, with no impact. It failed to sell the special effects at all.
"We summoned a Demon" and "A Tricky Treat" were my 2 favorites. I was actually surprised how the UberEats film wasn't completely terrible. Happy Spooktober!
