After a while without playing the mage I have made my triumphant return to the spellsinger life. Decided to put the melee on the back burner while I work on its gear after patch 5.5 update.

I'm pretty curious about this too Belamy, also at the very beginning of the video is this the PvE build you use for spellsinger? Been testing this and fanatic out on PTS3.

Hi belamy ! Thanks for the build,i was looking for a good build with songcraft i dont regret it. I am a returned player and i was wondering if i could use dissonant,discord and Startling Strain instead of some spell from shadowplay and use Healing Hymn instead of alarm call for playing mostly PVE?

Hope you got your answer, yet you could also include stalker mark (shadow play) and bullwark ballad (defensive song). Usually goes: stalker mark, startling, bullwark, critical discord. Then you could even drop back and shoot normal dmg combo, or teleport back to a previous magic circle you had placed before executing charm, then dmg deal or simple arc light. Hope that helps ^^

Hey there, i wonder, is there a difference in using different weapons in offhand, as long as they have the same synthesis stats (INT, Magic Crit Rate, Magic Crit Dmg), meaning that dagger is better, or is it purely cosmetical?

i used to play this class b4 anseteral levels came out, right before hiram came out. and it was the first time i ever got kills in pvp, so i know its a good class. after hiram came out, wearing full plate with int, mag dam, and resil, and gems, with magic prot shield. HAHAHA now it looks even meaner...i might have to swap from ebonsong to this..

Its ancestral lightening flamebolt, has no cast time, its great. Whole reason i decided to go back to spellsinger

whats the reason for bloody chanty? i understand the need for attack spede on this kind of build but doesnt the duration kind of wear off too quckly for it to have any kind of combat relevance?

even just having the buff for the first 3-4 seconds of your burst makes a big difference. The better you get with chanty and the more you learn to weave it between your skills the better you will get! The skill damage it gives is huge too

@@BelamyPrime ah, i see. is it even worth trying to use it then if it only lasts 2 seconds? since with GCD it doesn't last long at all. couldn't you just switch it if you couldn't reach 6 deep into songcraft?

@@loxybee2411 you could drop it, yes. But I need at least 5 point to be able to get Deadly Refrain and I am used to having chanty. Even with 2 seconds that still covers the first 2 seconds of a backdrop buff when im throwing lightning fireballs. Generally thats my opening skill when im mounted too. While on a mount I will quickly pop chanty > backdrop from mount > throw fireballs. That 250 attack speed, even for 2 seconds, speeds up my fireballs a lot.

One thing that drives me up a fucking wall - why is it, as a mage, do you require double to triple the attacks that melee does to drop targets? The damage scaling in this game is still such bullshit, even in later game. Like yea, you can outskill the opponent I suppose, but half the time even that isn't enough when you get hit and die in 2 shots.

Do you think best for mage is plate for cloth armor what is more handy?

Both are strong. Choose between being 1 shot by archers from 30m away or 1 shot by mages basically. Melee you can just kite. Really depends on how you build. I prefer cloth simply because of the unique armour pieces you can get like the TK sash and invuln proc sleeves.

Right now probably scepter + dagger. But only just. Staff is getting some good buffs in the future that we can see from KR. Staff going to be goooood!

@@swinglow6580 wouldn't count it out just yet, despite the short ttk it's still a very fun game and the unchained version will likely eliminate the worst of the one sidedness in pvp... so wallet warriors can't turn you to dust a mere month into the game.

LeeAnn Nygård solid point, I think imma give a shot once unchained comes out. The game looks really interesting and I played it in beta long long ago but never touched it since. Once the p2w is killed off, will it still mostly depend on gear? Or can skill rope that in a little? A lot of questions I know but I used to skill based games vs gear based. I honestly like a balance of both
