First non junk knife was a cryo 2… will always have a place in my heart for Kershaw and they’ve been putting out some great value options over the last couple of years. Wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one of these.

I'm a like bigger knives then small normally but I have both cryo and cryo 2 and for some reason the smaller cryo seems to be better then the bigger cryo 2 I think they should of made it thicker too but it feels to skinny for me at that size while the little one just works as a great little knife I wanted to love the cryo 2 as much but I don't 🤷‍♂️

That is a nutzo knife! Along the lines of some of the weirder designs from CRKT. I really like the way they carried that center contrast color through the blade. There is some real thought behind this.

For those who weren't collecting in 2010-2012, the Kershaw Tilt (stonewashed and all black versions) quadrupled in value overnight. Sold out immediately. In fact, a Kershaw Tilt in mint condition from that period will still command a price approaching (if not north of) 2K. They are supremely comfortable in hand despite the odd looking shape.

My collection has evolved over the years. I’ve gravitated to high end, Ultramodern style knives, and although I’ve never been much of a Kershaw fan, this one is different. It is gorgeous! I will get one someday, and it will be very comfortable on display next to my WE Solid, and my Rike Cybertrix.

I have the OG one, can't wait for this one to be released. On the original it had the name TILT carved out on the inside of the liner. I might be wrong, but I think it was one of the first knives to use Vanax 75 I just didn't care for the CF which was just an overlay. I'm really excited for this release and will be waiting to jump on it.

Cool blade but I’m curious why Kershaw would use Cru wear+ 14c28n when just using Magnacut would get the same performance (probably better since the cru wear is 60-62 and their Magnacut is typically 61-63) and get better corrosion resistance. Maybe if it was k390 or s90v then the edge retention boast would noticeable enough to justify but as it stands I’m just confused. Considering it’s $500 I doubt it’s a price thing.

Absolutely stunningly beautiful 😍 thats how I imagine a knife they would use in the future somewhere on a spaceship. the materials, colors, precision of the edges…. love it! The only thing I would have made different are the 2 round spaces for the middle and pointing finger. I thing a trapezoid design would fit the overall square and straight lines better. But other than that, absolute perfection 🤩

This is an impressive piece. $500 is a bit steep for a Kershaw but considering the composite blade, Ti scales, CF inserts and structure of the build it makes a good case for a sleeper. USA made is always a plus. I just really would struggle spending that type of money on a Kershaw. Thats a 1/4 of the price of one of my Customs though so maybe i can look at it that way😂

But it really isn't a Kershaw in quality, form, or fit and finish. Yes Kershaw is the titled company for the knife, but for all intents and purposes this is a ZT and arguably even better quality than most ZT models. If you like it and think the model is cool, then the fact that "Kershaw" is the brand and not ZT seems like a silly reason to deter someone from purchasing the knife.

@@wes.killed.it.5511 I understand but I also have to disagree. I buy almost exclusively high end. While this Kershaw is definitely not a typical Kershaw by any means, ignoring the name its been released under would be kind of foolish. It's the same reason why Toyota has Lexus, Nissan has Infiniti, BMW bought Rolls-Royce, Mercedes has Maybach, etc. It's even why Hyundai and Kia are starting sport and luxury brands. They can sell cheap cars but if they want to sell better quality cars for more money the consumer wouldn't buy them due to the notoriety of the name being associated with cheap. It's why the Kia Stinger in spite of being one of the best luxury sedans for sale effectively failed in the sales department. The name absolutely matters to the consumer. While I could spend $500 for this I could also spend it on a Chris Reeve, Hinderer, ZT or Medford. The price is just too much.

Yeah, but if you’re buying this you’re sharpening and oiling it yearly only and it probably never sees the insides of pockets. It’s for the collection and nothing more.

@@dang6832 I'd be willing to bet that less than 1% of owners who buy this model will ever end up sharpening the blade even once and will likely never even take it to a strop for that matter. It's a collectors item and will be a piece of praise and conversation rather than use for likely everyone who makes the purchase..

I’m not sure why I like this, but I like it. I usually like the more plain looking stuff. Oh well, can’t afford it now as I just ordered an XM-24 with the new hollow grind slicer blade a few hours ago to go with the XM-24 textured Ti scale that I jumped on about a week ago when they randomly dropped on the Hinderer site.

That would be great, but they have to redesign that flipper tab. The knife pops open when using the thumb stud, but the flipper tab is too low in relation to the pivot, and it doesn't give it enough leverage to pop open. If it were just a little higher then it would be so good.

Was that a bunch of voids in the CF? I think as a collector's piece and not a knife to carry and use, the price is acceptable. But, it's still a high price and I'm not really a fan of any knife that's not really meant to be used.

This knife can absolutely be used. It's not delicate. Whether or not it gets used is a decision each individual buyer will make for themselves.

I'm not so sure why you're so shocked at the machine work and uniqueness of manufacturing and build materials on this knife. Kershaw and Zero Tolerance are basically the same company, hell they come out the same factory just on different production lines. The materials and machine work on this knife are very ZT like. Yes, it's a kershaw but it's a USA made Kershaw from the post like 2018 era mean it probably uses the same machines and workers as ZT. When people go "wow Kershaw's really doing good these days" or "ZT really fell off" I kind of feel pissed off because imo Kershaw and ZT just finally stopped pretending to be different companies. ZT still has some beef cake models that I think will never fade (Love my 0562cf), just now you have nicer real world viable USA made kershaws that are the cheapest USA made knives with ZT quality and materials. I mean look at the launch 14, 15, and 7 models with carbon fiber, magnacut, or both. Look at the livewire and the carbon fiber/20cv lucha. It's clear a lot of the USA kershaws are being made on the ZT line by the craftsman who make ZTs while keeping that Kershaw pricing which is great imo. Like the Livewire can be found for 220-240 average these days with decent dips below 200 often enough and it competes quite well with 250-300 dollar microtechs. So whatever Kershaw/ZT are becoming these days, I'm all for it. Just wish Kershaw made more USA manuals in the same vein.

@@metal_complex Sounds like the microphone is too close to the monitor, or too high gain on microphone. Its very noticable if you turn up the sound. This monitor feedback sounds like humming. Very deep sound.

Comparing apples apples, the price isn't terrible. Maybe a bit high but they went all out and the thing is made in the USA save for some minor pieces. Substantially better effort vs the Narrows for example

They only make a limited number and call it a collectors item. Marketing at its finest. Don’t compare a brand that has 99% of its catalog made in China to one that has nothing coming from China.
