This is an after the fact explanation of how I did my rust work eithout a welder as I didn't think to make a video at the time. This was done last year.

I have an 86. I just used a few rattle cans of primer on it. 1 coat for dust 2 coats for rust. So my truck got 3 coats total 😂😂😂 just put on a new soft topper too. Your repair looks great and I’m sure it’ll hold over time

Thank you! I'm pretty confident I'm my methods. Hoping to get to a new overall paint job in the next year or 2.

Wow. That's a lot of work! But it looks great! Well done. My '88 needs a similar treatment plus outer rockers. Someday... I can't weld either. I get "zinc fever", even with breathing protection. It's a thing. Really.

There was a lot of metal dust flying around but I used a good mask and goggles. I did grind off my index finger knuckle though. It still hurts 8 months later.
