I learned all this and more by just straight up watching that 40 interview he used In the video on RU-vid and others. Most youtubers like these use content and information you coulda found easily if you just searched it. Still I respect for him packing the important parts in 6 minutes ig.
There is a difference between filtering and sub-sampling which has to do with aliasing noise: Filtering will totally clean up the high-end while sub-sampling will remove high-frequencies from the source material and pollute it with other high-frequencies introduced by the errors of the D/A converter.
Lol me too.... But I think both works well. It's a matter of choice. The down sample rate has an extra ummpp that the filter doesn't have but only our engineer ears really notice the difference 😂
