I thought the same thing!! I was wayy more intrigued than thw actail movie. I’m like we need more conversations like this in movies than just cliché happy ever after stuff.
Honestly, I never though of Noah as "a good actor" I mostly thought they casted him because he's cute, but damn, the way he acts is really natural (at least that's how I perceive it) it feels like an a actual person just having a conversation. Lana is great too, sometimes it feels like they're just improvising and if that's what it is they did amazing, and if it's the script omg it feels SO natural.
@@CookieCreamCrumble geez, yall literally hating because he's cute. He did the role he got really good, even if his personality seems similar (which I don't think so, I might just keep getting roles in this theme by the industry), he still portrayed different emotions so naturally that you find it hard to admit his skills. Ppl like you... smh
@@IshratJahan-dh3ev people disliked him because Netflix kept putting him in shitty movies after TATBILB they put him as the same flirty character in every movie even though he’s a good actor
I love how Peter Kavinsky came alive because of his protrayal. The hand in the back pocket and the spin? He made it so effortlessly, and I imagined Peter being that smooth and confident in real life. I truly believe he and Lana have so much more range, but it's Netflix that boxes them in. Noah can be so much more than the token highschool popular guy, and Lana can be so much more than the token highschool shy girl.
Honestly this just reminds me how much the movies changed between the first and second one. I understand that Lara Jean would grow out of her shell but the awkwardness felt so much more over played in second and third movies This feels so sweet and so genuine and I feel like only the first movie captured this
@@bloopbloopbloopbloopbloop I know that, and its a flaw in the overall trilogy. The second one's lighting is so dark and the third is annoyingly bright.
They DEFINITELY should have done the scene like this in the movie. Just one shot, no fancy editing, mayyyybe some light music. Just seeing everything play out on their faces. Like everyone else is saying , this feels so much more raw and relatable, and you need to CONVEY THAT FEELING TO THE AUDIENCE in this snippet of them genuinely opening up for the first time, when the rest of the movie revolves around faking their relationship. im actually frustrated bc that would've been the perfect stylistic choice to highlight it as a memorable scene and to distinguish it from them pretending.
Have you read the books?! They are great - I read them first and watching the film felt like experiencing the story for the first time again might work for you :))
holy shit their chemistry is insane WHAT?? and i agree with so many people in the comments, like this was so much better than what the movie portrayed because it feels so much more real and raw than what we got in the end... it would've awesome to see them together in something more like the "before sunrise" movie series rather than something as highly stylized as the "to all the boys" movies
I feel like I’m eavesdropping. Like I’m in a public space, maybe at the park, and I’m sitting under a tree reading a book and I’m taking a break to people watch and I catch some of their conversation on a bench nearby. I’m like, ooo, this sounds good, and pretend to read but really I’m listening as hard as I can because they’re cute and they obviously have great chemistry, and by the end of the conversation I’m a little bummed they’re not together but I’m hopeful they’ll get there in time. And maybe every few weeks I’ll walk past the park and see the bench and think of them with a smile as I wonder what did happen between them in the end. And the thought that maybe I witnessed the beginnings of something beautiful is a treasure I’ll keep with me for a long time, and it is all the more precious because I’ll never know for sure.

I want them to reunite for a 500 days of summer type of movie in like 10 years a la Leo and Kate style 😭 Or a revolutionary road type. Ugh would be soo good.
i loved this so much. I felt like it truly was the book being acted out because I was so immersed into this alternate reality, I forgot I was watching two actors and thought I was really watching the characters come alive. :') This felt so real - reminds me of my own Peter Kavinsky as a teen :)
I usually avoid watching audition tapes, chemistry reads, and what not because they can be really cringe but I freaking loved this!! It was literally the coolest thing to watch them act out their lines in such a realistic way. This is damn great acting holy shit!
I don't think it's the acting that's changed much. It's the directing/cut scenes/camera angles that make this very natural conversation all too stylized.
The chemistry is insane!! Lana deserves better I want to see her in more movies. I think Noah needs to try things outside of the high school trope too, he seems like a good actor.
The scene in the movie was already great, who knew that it could've been better. I promise I don't get giddy, but they are soo adorable like I can't...🤗
not me kicking my feet, cheeks hurting from smiling watching this 😭 the romcom genre was NEVER the same, i wish i could wipe it from my memory so i could experience it for the first time because at this point i have the whole movie memorized front to back smh..
I didn’t even notice they had started playing background music until the very end. That’s how immersed I was in them and what they were saying even though I’ve already watched the movie.
Woooahhh.. this screen test.. is GOLD. Method acting. This was way more natural and felt soo real and raw compared to the film. Wow. Brava to both of them, they played out kavinsky and covey phenomenally well in just these 5 minutes alone
I really enjoyed the first movie but not enough to watch it a second time (though enough to follow through with the second and third), yet THIS chemistry read makes me want to re-watch. Their chemistry really was so pure and instantaneous. 🥺
The first TATBILB is genuinely a really good movie. It is a cute romantic movie about two kids just trying to find their way in HS. I love it so so so much. The second is a flop personally. The third one is okay but nothing can compare to the first movie. Noah is a good actor portraying roles similar to his irl character but netflix really gave him cartoonish roles to play. Man I’d do anything to watch TATBILB again

As a former actor I can confirm that yes, you often have to learn this much material for each audition, although this was multiple auditions in since it was a chemistry read. In this case it also definitely felt like improv.
i am not an actor but i have read this book like a hundred times and most of what they're saying is straight from the books. so it's not all improv and they had to read the book and i know the lines at least
The first movie was as faithful as it could be from the source material. The second and third ones diverged more though so the first movie has a special place in my heart.
This feels like so relatable. Like I'm her and that's my boyfriend before we got together. 🥺 I can never go back to that moment, but this feels close to it. I would watch this.
