Noam Chomsky's Three True Intellectuals 

We are fortunate to have RU-vid to access such discourse, the TV media is a vast wasteland.

so nice to see three friends ( Naom , Edward and Eqbal) working towards the same goal and learning from each other during the process.

Howard Zinn was a great man. I'm glad professor Chomsky speaks highly of him. :)

I'd add Jeremy Scahill to this list, although I doubt Chomsky knew about him at the time this video was taken. Understandable, since he didn't publish anything until 2006, I believe. Also, from what I hear, Naomi Klein is quite the new voice of the people.

All the intellectuals he mentioned are all ready died. Any one still alive he considers an intellectual?

Of course he sees them as "true" intellectuals. He carries a bias towards them because they are all along the same ideological lines. Chomsky's no fool, but he's got his slant like everyone else. Sometimes I believe he raises good points but other times he crosses into a territory that's just plain pessimistic and self serving.

I believe this gentleman should be challenged on every single one of his supposed intellectual perspectives.
