I have never been to Ireland but while I go through poetry ofW B Yeats, and Seamus Heany I discover a new world where humanity glitters like millions of star.,
i love irish culture! you gave us so many good things : joyce, beckett, heaney, kavanagh, yeats, shaw, oscar wilde, U2, Clanad, Perry Blake, Sinead O'Connor, Cranberries, Neil Jordan, guinness! :) thanks ! cheers from Portugal!
I am so thankful to come across this speech of Seamus Heaney after seeing an interview on Hozier. It is, in fact, a most moving and important speech. The message is universal, timeless and powerful. "The squeeze of the hand", such a small gesture that can connect humanity and the underlying pain of history written in blood and tears. Heaney was a most humble and influential Irishman. Long may his words left behind could make an impact on the human soul and unite people of any culture and ethnicity, bringing love and compassion in a world which is proved to ever slide into darkness.
