@@NobelPrize yes there are available there but in text not in audio? It's 2020 for goodness sake - the best way to expand your reach and allow the rest of the world to presume the Nobel is not an elitist prize for an inclusive circle of Scandos wearing black would be to have real time subtitles in ALL languages... it genuinely isn't that difficult, so stop playing the elitist card and allow the hoi polloi to share the brilliance of your recipients... immediately. There's is undoubtedly a real time translation voice app? Use it... and globalise your mission....
@@NobelPrize the quality of the English transcription is a shame. In every second sentence there's a heavy mistake. Next time better call me, I'll do it cheaper and in an appropriate way.
Great man and an even bigger human. He has not denied anything, he just wrote about the big picture with the WHOLE story not just one side of the coin. This is a big day and hopefully one step to justice. Congratulations Peter Handke. Peace and love
Mr. Handke deserves this prize. He has created a world that speaks for itself and, at once, for everyone else. The ulterior task of a writer. Congratulations.
I am from peter handke's country. I read these books about serbia. I understood the book that also serbia suffered in the war. Not just moslems from bosnia. That is all what he wrote. He did not write about the bosnia people (moslems) like the media. This is why they hate him now that much.
That's correct. He was there, he saw the other side. There is the other side to Srebrenica, too, but ...people prefer to believe in everything that is media served nowadays.
Yes, absolutely yes, but that is only one of view point. His book says nothing about creator of the war(s). The war in Slovenia was started from serbian politicians, during controlled controlled disassembly of Yugoslavia. The war in Croatia was started from the same politician elite. The war in Bosnia too, was started and managed from Serbian politician elite of that time. The war in Kosovo had same address of author. .. The book does not write about this. And he is not Germany writer!
I am from the country who suffered from this man and his now dead friend. You say he did nothing but speak the truth. How did he say something small when he made a whole book out of it. For a serbian killed 30 other peoples were hanged. Read a history book friend, not what they want you to read!
Greatly appreciate each and every word he has written, translated, and published, as well as the way he has strung these words together; his prose sometimes, to me, sounds like poetry. His literary taste, style, his observations and perceptions are sensitive and well documented. THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK, LOOKING FORWARD TO RE-READING and READING NEW ONES.
So happy for you Peter Handke - you are a great writer. Thank you for also using the Slovenian language in your lecture which is still used in South Carinthia/Austria.
What a beautifully evocative lecture! Congrats to Peter Handke! His Works have certainly brought honour to this prize greater than any other writer’s has in years! Literature Lives!!
Yeah, war is complex and who is in the wrong can sometimes be hard to figure out. Sometimes there are no good guys. It seems you are only allowed to take one side of the Balkans conflict, otherwise you are "evil" Anyway, congrats to the NP.
@Ismail Sacic More Serbs were killed in the villages surrounding the city of Srebrenica than muslims in Srebrenica. So equivalently if one side commited genocide than the other did it too.

Hm... there are some parts missing in the transcript to english... "prosi za nas" , that means "pray for us" , "(mother Mary), pray for us." in many ways...
@@jonasastrom7422 It's quite simple, Handke did not buy into Bosnian Muslim propaganda during the Yugoslav wars and now they are calling for boycott. Nothing to see here, they do it all the time.
@@jonasastrom7422 The New York Times’s Roger Cohen, sharing a link to his 1994 story about a Serbian concentration camp, wrote: “shame on Nobel Committee and Swedish King for handing Nobel literature prize to Peter Handke, who calls the Bosnian genocide myth”.
How can a man who thinks that its right for a dictator to order military attacks on civilians be awarded a prize for having benefitted the human kind. A man who wanted to impose his will on the many by military might, and the many wanting noting but a chance for a life worthy of living. A man siding with the dictator is warped beyond any recognition. What can possibly come out of that mind that is of any good? I have not read his books, and will not even be considering it. I know that Peter would not be taken seriously if he had been sympathetic to Germanys national socialist dictator as he was to the Serbian national socialist dictator. The reasons he gives for supporting the serbian one, is in every way applicable to a case where one would be supporting the german national socialist dictator. He assigns pure romantic feeling to the job of aiming his moral compass, just as the followers of Hitler did. I seriously believe that the people in the nobel prize comitte have become anesthesized, and that this is a sign of our society rotting from its head.
Sory Durim, you're one-eyed. Peter dreamed a Balkan, Yougoslav country - which many did not want to follow. NATO (Germany and Austria being first for whatever reason) and the US in forefront. Harmed by this crazy attacks were humble people in Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenija, Srbia and the Kosovo. Bury your hate against Srbia, become friends. Und wenn du Deutsch verstehen kannst, dann dies: »Spiele das Spiel. Sei nicht die Hauptperson. Such die Gegenüberstellung. Aber sei absichtslos. Vermeide die Hintergedanken. Verschweige nichts.
Peter Englund, a member of the Swedish Academy, which selects the winner, announced he would boycott the ceremony, saying: “To celebrate Peter Handke’s Nobel prize would be gross hypocrisy on my part”.
Mr peter handke witnessed the human genocide in the middle of Europe. you ignore this incident. How can you not see this persecution. Genocide in Bosnia
My heart is bleading. Agression and killings are relativized... there are many thruths? Really? Serbs were killing on a forein teritory, also in Slovenia. Nobel price jury, are you crazy? Or simply ignorant? Or are you consciously apologising genocide?
The Nobel committee decides to dig itself out of scandal by awarding this year's Nobel prize in literature to an Austrian defender of Milosevic who denies that the Srebrenica massacre happened.
@Denis Arsen Selić You are aware of the fact that there is an official decision of The Royal Swedish Academy, that this Man is a Nobel Prize laureate in literature? Right?
@Denis Arsen Selić are you aware of the fact that even if all of that is true, that has nothing to do with innocent Serbian people that haven't killed anyone or want to kill anyone. And don't forget that you are Serbian as well, but I guess that's too complicated for you to understand.
Another scandalous prize from Swedish academy! Nobel prizes have no longer of any importance and reputation. There was a crowd outside of Stockholm Concert House protesting this guy on Friday. For those who do not know, this guy denied the Bosnian genocide and admired Serbian leader Milosevic who committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. This writer has always been widely criticized by literary community for speaking at the funeral of Milosevic to praise him, in 2006. How he could be awarded by the Nobel Prize! Shame!
