Joe Powell hahaha. Thanks. Yeah, there are not many reviews. That was a whirlwind day. I look forward to seeing this beast again in the future! Cheers!
Amazing review. I am fortunate enough to own one, currently at the end of a *huge* refurbishment with substantial upgrades, that will overcome all the shortcomings of the stock car for cooling, fuelling, gear changes, gearbox rebuilt with race level components & Quaife...it will never be for sale.
Wow. That sounds magnificent and you mentioned upgrading a couple areas I touched on. That seems like exactly what the doctor ordered. If you have an instagram tag me when it is done, I would love to see it. Cheers and thanks for watching! If you would be so kind as to subscribe to my channel it would mean the world to me!
You would love this car. Huge mid range punch. The two videographers that sat in it both felt it was the fastest car they had been in . They had also been in the green esprit. It lacks the upper range pull of a proper exotic but if you really needed it a proper intake manifold and some cams could probably give you that “proper” European car scream. It’s so raw that the almost tame power plant seems blunted. More noise and fear of death would do the trick . Lol. Later in the video I slam it through a roundabout and it gets WAY out of sorts and you can see the concern on my face. Please note that I don’t lift 😊😜🚗💨
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage At some point in my future when I decide to be more classy and less muscle car, crazy car oriented... there WILL be a Noble in my stable! An M500 personally is something that needs to be my "Classy adult sportscar". The styling of these Nobles all are outstanding they just look every bit the cool factor. Is this thing fast? Yes. Is it fast compared to todays standards? Maybe not. BUT it looks great sounds great and will definitely turn heads everywhere it goes!
Tim's Enthusiast Garage I couldn’t afford one 😀. Dean Rosen is the guy that ran 1G, he was a real enthusiast and let me do a proper test drive. I’ll never forget that day. I’m also a big fan of Lee Noble, he was involved with the Ultima and McLaren F1.
K Ahmed yeah, it was too rich for me at that time. I am a big fan. Didn’t mean to make it sound like 1g was a bad company. I just don’t think they had the wherewithal to truly market/ service / advertise the car . It is a problem for Morgan and Lotus as well.
Hi, great review - you even feature my car !! The light blue 3R photo at SWLC is mine. Awesome car, must be driven and not stored to keep them in good mechanical order.
Thanks for saying hullo! Beautiful car. James has posted it a few times and I love that colour. I would say that what you suggest here is true of most cars. “Use it or loose it” they don’t like to sit for years on end. Cheers and thanks for watching!!
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage I still cant find anything to replace it with - tried 911 but just a little dull and too refined for me. Lotus Exige 410 Sport is the only thing but its down 100 lb/ft on my Noble. Ariel Atom 3.5R maybe, but no roof, doors or heater in the UK is a bad idea ! Enjoyed watching it again. Should have mentioned, MrB is also me above, 2 profiles.
Congrats on your prospective purchase. I hope that it goes smoothly. Cracking cars. Nothing else quite like it and a fantastic community of enthusiast owners. Thanks for watching. If you would be so kind as to subscribe that would make my day. Cheers!
I own a BRG Noble M12 GTO tuned to about 400 HP. This is simply one track beast. On the long back straight at Pukekohe Race Track in Auckland, I did an indicated 270 km/h. The acceleration from 3-4-5 is relentless and non abs brakes are easy to modulate even from those speeds. The steering is sublime, light but full of feel. The suspension is not harsh. Very supple but when really pushed in the corners is very predictable and quite user friendly. Grip is out of this world and when tackling long sweepers, it just squats and stick like it is on rails. I think it will challenge and maybe beat an F40 on the same track.
Funny I was hoping you were going to make the comparison to an F40. I believe these to be an F40 with a different badge and a less complex powertrain. This coning from a Ferrari fan and F355 owner. I have been wanting one of these cars for quite some time after I spent just a few minutes in and around one and was deeply impressed. If an F40 is your dream car like myself then this is a fantastic opportunity. I cant seem to find any for sale!
Join the Noble Facebook group. A few come up per year. They are always well loved. The humble beginnings of the engine are definitely detectable but grenade one and it is probably 1/20th the cost of an F40 rebuild. They made a very special car with these. Very special indeed
I don’t think 100k for these new, was completely out of line. Definitely suffered the same problems as a company like lotus. Lack of dealer network, unknown reliability, and depreciation. Lotus still suffers with these issues today. I would purchase a new Evora GT, but can’t stomach the massive hit I would take on resale. I think a lot of people in this price bracket have the same concern. Unlike say Aston, the values fly off a cliff but that’s a completely different customer purchasing one of those new. Tough spot to be in for a small boutique brand. Great review as always though! I find myself looking at these once a year it seems, but never get past window shopping. Seem to hover around 40-60k. In the 30s these would be a steal, but 40+ you can find better cars. Super cool though!
Sarah Dell I agree with most all of this comment. Yes, at 30-40k I would have one already. They are just spendy enough to keep my cheap finger from pulling the trigger. That said, and even as I edited this, the rawness of this car is unmatchable at twice the price. The dealer experience is the number one issue for all these companies Morgan, Lotus, etc. they just can’t service the cars or customers
Nice video Tim. Small tip, if I may, could you wear a microphone? It reduces the echo. Otherwise great vid and it's good to promote the M12, as it's an excellent driver's car. The only cars you need in your life are a 997.1 GT3 and a GTO-3R.
Several other videos feature a lav. I appreciate the input. Eventually I hope to make this a full time endeavor. These videos are filmed whenever I can make time and rarely does a shoot go perfectly. On this one the lav would not work with the Sony camera . Thanks for watching !!
horn buttons, though I am sure you could requisition the lead to do anything you wanted. Yes, these are a bit "cottage built" but I def think that is part of the charm. Thanks for watching
Love the review but few things make no sense...faster than a 996 Turbo but slower than a V8 Espirit? Noble tested 0-60 in low 3 second range with low 11s in quarter. Seems like it would smoke the Lotus just thought I would seek clarification. Great review!
996 is a bit heavy and ponderous by comparison. The Lotus is under 3000 pounds and I haven’t driven a stock one in some time. Most have around 450-475 and pull harder and longer in gear than the Noble. that 0-60 on the Noble is with a super abusive launch and this one certainly felt strong but was no where near an 11 second quarter car. I have drive two now and both felt about the same. I would say all three would be quarter mile in low 12s . Hope that helps! Cheers!
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage indeed, no need to get all picky and cheeky but instead be thankful that we got all those wonderful pieces of machinery which seem to become more rare by the day ..
It’s annoying when someone is mid-conversation on something, has some boost and then talks about something different. In this case you were about to give an indication of prices and just left it hanging 🤪
Their marketing was bad? Umm it had its own video game (thats was actually good) and not to mention Top Gear Uk. People like them, ive shown gen z kids these and 80% of them think they're amazing. However... Availability and parts are next to non.
Above all else. People are going to be asking you what this car is. You don't get that in Ferrari, Porsche or Lamborghini. And car nuts like me are probably going to create a scene if they see you.
Most commonly they ask if it’s a Lotus or Ferrari . The real enthusiasts do go a bit mental when they see one in person in “as new” condition. Thanks so much for watching !
What is going on with the sound on this vid? Sorry couldn’t concentrate on what you were saying. Sounds like someone is outside on his Harley. Great review when you were driving.
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage No worries buddy I have an unreasonable sensitivity to background noise. I’m enjoying binge watching your channel, loving the great presentation style and fantastic editing. Best wishes from Spain
