It’s just the competition and narratives are fucking insane this year. Like three people are MVP candidates with marginal difference between the three. Shai Luka Giannis all popping off.
Giannis is running away with MVP right now, the media reluctance to admit it is just voter fatigue, we will talk about Giannis and MVP the same way they talked about LeBron and MVP in the late 2000's and early 2010's
He’s in the conversation because he’s the best player on the best team in the league by far right now. He’s not having mvp stats but with how good his team is there’s a weak case for him in the conversation
@@connorrickard2998but it’s very much a contradiction because when Giannis last year was putting amazing stats while being the #1 overall seed the media only talked about Embiid and Jokic for mvp, Tatum this year is not statistically better than Giannis last year but he’s all of sudden getting the mvp love Giannis didn’t get last year it’s clear bias against the guy
The power structure in the league hates Giannis because he didn’t follow the script that they desire. Move to a big market. The most dominant big man since Shaq. Thanks for the video.
People also forget he is also one of the best defenders in the league and can lockdown any player any given night. Great to see some recognition here, nice video. You earned a new subscriber
@@egglordsasuke8532 hes a good rim protector as well. Its really just his perimeter defense that needs work. But yes he does pride himself on being a help defender. The thing is, if hes the best help defense they got, and then Brook is in and can provide the rim protection…theres no reason why he shouldnt be the primary help defender. Why play to his weaknesses instead of his strengths?
Dame is lonely in Milwaukee?? Somebody have Dame hit me up! Here's my resume, above average HS baller (10 years ago hahahaah) and I make a mean pizza from scratch!
Giannis is amazing and gets no respect. The bias against Milwaukee is ridiculous. It's what I absolutely despise about the NBA. Its so disgustingly obvious that it turns away fans. Thanks for giving him his due
@@Cell9074 lol you've got to be kidding. I'm tired of hearing about lebron and the celtics. im surprised you're even hearing anything about giannis or the bucks that is positive from the media.
You have to ignore anything to do with ESPN. Everyone knows Giannis is an all time great. And the NBA does too. If anything they give him the superstar foul call treatment.
You‘d think that a dude shooting 62% on his 31 ppg on a top team alone would make someone an mvp candidate. Add all nba defensive and incredible playmaking to it and to me you get the mvp, but somehow he isn’t even top 3 when to me he is having easily the most impressive season in the nba
Thanks for this video ThreeCone. Giannis is having a historical season and media will not acknowledge it. He’s playing the best basketball of his career and all we hear is recycled narratives about his game. Thanks for taking the time and effort to do a video like this, it’s much appreciated.💯
Very glad you pointed out his passing. When he does it he is showing off a bit but also just working on it. He still has not hit his prime , not by much but he gets better each year. Also the word "touch" is correct , he has a nice looking shot , his power meter is just off sometimes , It's better to have him play his inside game but if he has a long career I could see him turn into a legit 3pt shooter at his tail end to stay productive.
The most ridiculous part about Giannis being overlooked is that he has a worse supporting cast this year than the rest of the MVP candidates with the exception of Luka. Until the post all-star weekend his teammates didn't play how they were supposed to and Giannis still will them to win with monstrous performances
I mean it's not like SGA or Jokic are playing with all-nba players. Not saying they don't have a good squad, but the Bucks have a good squad too. Just because as a whole their team wasn't clicking that well before the all star break doesn't mean Giannis doesn't have a good supporting cast too. Unless you wanna try say that rookie Holmgren, Lou Dort, Josh Giddey and washed Hayward is some overpowered elite cast compared Lillard, Lopez, Middleton, Portis. I'd argue the Bucks have overall better players than OKC, for example.
@@TrueGuardify I mean, would you say Steph is playing with a stacked team just because they're amazing players historically? All the veteran bucks players had a horrible start to the season except for Khris and Giannis, it doesn't matter how good a player is, but how good they're playing
@@wumbojet No, I think Klay and Draymond are on a steady decline and it shows in their standings. Wiggins hasn't been the same since getting his contract and they don't have anyone to step in to get buckets like Poole used to. And yeah I agree how well they're playing now does matter. In the end I still trust those players in the Bucks more than those younguns in OKC. I think OKC is gonna get bounced in round 2 due to this inexperience. Feels kind of unfair to say the Bucks are only a #2 seed because of Giannis but that OKC is a high seed because of how good their cast is and not SGA being great.
@@TrueGuardify I mean, SGA is playing amazingly but his teammates are also, maybe to a lesser extent but regularly. I agree that vets playing worse than they should is better than young player playing above their expectations in a playoffs scenario, but the fact is that the MVP is a regular season award and SGA's and Jokic's teammates have been playing amazingly in comparison to Giannis'
I could've sworn that I've seen a video just like this the past 3 years Giannis should've been MVP. The "media" doesn't care though. They'd rather give a pity MVP to a playoff choker and fabricate an MVP candidate out of Jason Tatum.
Yeah idk how many years giannias was never even closely considered MVP during the last three years and I get that jokic had great years, but everyone talks about how the media hates on jokic and that's true to an extent but with Giannis he's not liked by most fans or the media most people like jokic. So the question is why is that? It can't be losing in the playoffs because jokic and giannias have both done that in MVP years and also both have won chips they still love Tatum a guy who has all the help in the world and still doesn't get anything done in the playoffs just some guys rub the kedia the wrong way because they stick to their team and arent buddies with other players besides their teammates.
Giannis and Luka are my mvp candidates arms the 1 and 2. I think they are having better individual season than both jokic and shai who are also coontenders but more of their case relies on team accomplishments more
@@marcalfonzo9486 lol do you live under a rock? The media is pushing for shai and Jason Tatum as MVPs and faces of the league. International players are completely being overlooked despite them being ranked higher
It annoys me, It because he’s been so consistent for so long, people overlook him because he been THAT GUY for a while, take away Giannis and we won’t win more than 30 games
I'm truly afraid he can't, and that even if he can, he's so significantly affected in his effectiveness as a defender, that the Bucks will always be vulnerable until they get an All-star level (or All-star adjacent) contributor to replace his spot on the team. And I hate thinking this. But ...
@@IdeaAgeConsulting yeah I love Khris but he has 1 more year guaranteed next year and a player option . He might be a buyout with that kind of contract. If he was getting payed like half of his current contract I wouldn’t sweat it but with 31 mil on the books next year I want a star or someone who is borderline all star…
I forgot , The Bucks also have the best record over The last 5 years and that has been mostly Giannis. I still think he got snubbed and should have won Jokic's first. He scores more and his defense nulls out Jokic's play making with both improving there "weakness" Giannis passing has gone up , Jokic , played better defense then thought , still Giannis is able to impact both side of the ball better then anyone right now. Luka is the best offensive player this year and should win over Jokic as well , I never got why Giannis wasn't at least tied with others at the top.
I do not understand the disrespect for Giannis...the most dominant player in the league with outstanding stats! Values and morals probably explains it! MVP!!!!
Next video should be “NOBODY is talking about DRAYMOND” and it’s just a 5 second clip of Charles Barkley saying “you know who asked about you the other day…..? Nobody!”
@@emilfrederiksen.1622 Giannis is running away with MVP right now, the media reluctance to admit it is just voter fatigue. Disagree? Thats ok, youre allowed to be wrong. We will talk about Giannis and MVP the same way they talked about LeBron and MVP in the late 2000's and early 2010's
You know why they dont discuss Giannis? Because he is a legit threat to someone's legacy. Mark my words, Joker will not win another mvp and will start getting the Giannis treatment if he keeps winning titles.
It's not close at all. Giannis in 3rd place for MVP right now is a disgrace, utterly shameful behavior by the basketball media world, but hey what's new?
9:20 People don't talk about Adrian Dantley because, as talented and unguardable as he was, he didn't drive winning because he was a selfish player. He didn't pass, and didn't play defense. He was a more efficient, but ultimately worse version of Melo. He was also, as the kids say, a "foul merchant"
31-11-6 is really amazing but Luka is averaging 35-9-10 Giannis may be having one of the most dominant seasons we’ve ever seen. But he’s not even gonna win the MVP
Giannis is at over 60% FG%. An unprecedented number for such volume as he's putting up. Luka is under 50% FG%. Which is why he has amazing counting stats but his team isn't being discussed as a contender. Luka is referred to as Euro Harden for a reason.
Luka is on EIGHT SEED right now. You are not MVP if you can't carry your team to top 2 in the conference. Giannis is MVP and Doncic isn't even CLOSE! Giannis is running away with MVP right now, the media reluctance to admit it is just voter fatigue, we will talk about Giannis and MVP the same way they talked about LeBron and MVP in the late 2000's and early 2010's Barring injury, Giannis will win MVP again this year, bank on it.
Why do people keep saying Adrian Griffins firing was “shocking”?? barely any bucks fans think it was. we could tell that he wasn’t utilizing anyone correctly
It could be cause he hasn’t done anything special since 2021 his ring was a hospital ring when basically he went against injured teams he hasn’t won anything since then he’s been losing in the playoffs and media don’t talk about them because they love lakers and warriors I just think a lot of ppl are bored with Gianni’s game cause it’s not like he’s added anything to it really he’s just become boring to watch I guess NBA fans like the fancy look now not the run n dunk all day 😂
Monsterr, every team that wins a championship has some breaks along the way. As for the 👀 test on the court, it's more exciting watching a player dunk over other players than watching a so-called skilled player dribble the ball down to 5 seconds and take an awkward 😳 shot.
No matter what the man will always be disrespected they say hes fake humble they say he has no bag he won a ring only because harden and irving were injured the bucks have better ball movement without him, its his fault dame doesn't play well dame dropped 41 points last night and now all of sudden giannias is the problem like a guy cant just have a good game one time when their star player is out. Hes averaging 30 hes great defensively the bucks are one of the best teams, dame has been good on offense and lack luster on defense as always most of the guys on that team are no where near the talent and level the nuggets or celtics have and hes still bringing that team to a good record. Idk what it is people just really dint like him he doesn't do anything different then a bigman should and he doesnt say anything most players wouldnt say as well i dont get the hate and i dont get how the media can look over what he does and put tatum as an mvp lol while not even having a good statistical year and having a shit ton of talent around him. The thing is in the end giannias stays true to what he believes and sticks up for his teammates he prefers his team get going then just himself jokic is also very similar i really dont see the bucks winning the chip tho theres way too much competition unless giannias and dame become kobe and shaq.
If Giannis got an elite post game he’d be more dominant than Shaq in this era. His lack of back to basket skills always get exposed in a playoff setting
@@tylerdejesus6333 I mean he's not wrong. If Giannis isn't barreling into the paint he isn't scoring. We don't see him play back-to-the-basket, at least I haven't in the past. Haven't watched a lot of Bucks games this year but I assume it's no different.
@@TrueGuardify well there’s your problem. The year he goes to work on his post game with Hakeem, you don’t watch the games where he’s implementing it. Also, it’s not a constant thing because it’s not like he has to rely on it to score, he does it every now and again because he can, him driving to the paint is still his most effective way of scoring. That will never change even if he were to become a 40% shooter, his strength is his strength and ability to get to the rim better than anybody else in the league
@@tylerdejesus6333 Oh ofc his strength is driving to the paint. Just saying the fact that he's always been kind of one-dimensional outside of that is the reason he's never won a championship outside of that 1 year that every real contender except the Bucks was taken out by injury. I'll watch some more Bucks games, I didn't know he was working out with Hakeem. I remember in the past I think he outright refused to train w/ him out of ego or something lol
“Trade him to a worse team to help him” wtf are u smoking? A combination of Pascal, Aaron Nesmith, Andrew Nembhard, and Benedict Mathurin plus a few firsts would probably have to be included, absolutely gutting the roster
Giannis is "overlooked" in third place because, in reality, Giannis is running away with MVP right now and its not even CLOSE! The media reluctance to admit it is just voter fatigue, we will talk about Giannis and MVP the same way they talked about LeBron and MVP in the late 2000's and early 2010's Luka is overlooked?!?! On an EIGHT SEED?!?!? that is possibly the single most asinine take I've heard this season. You are dead wrong.
