Michael Ironside is just awesome in any role for any film. Even Colin Salmon who is an associate of Odenkirk's Nobody plays a James Bond type figure and of course appeared in Brosnan Era Bond films.
I like it. It was the best movie along with John Wick and I wish one day they would team up to killed thugs for the upcoming movie from their universe.
ALOHAS brothers...!!! I am NOBODY... HAIR AMAZINGNESS...!!! AND rEJECTS... where we're GOING... there are know ROADS... WOOTANG 4 eeeeeevvvvvvvveeeeerrrrrrrrr...meow
@@pabloruiz6224 this movie was originally John Wicks script but they made them separate movies. John Wick was supposed to be Nobody but the creators made John Wick based on Nobody year's before Nobody was filmed. It's hard to explain but John Wick got his movies titled John Wick when he was supposed to be Nobody. Nobody was a rough draft for John Wick but decided to make both
I love this movie so much. Fun fact: Bob Odenkirk says the training for this movie and how fit he got is probably what saved his life when he had the heart attack
I love that this movie is one of the rare ones where they go out of their way to show the villain as an unrepentant sociopath, but then casually reveal that the hero is *way* crazier.
I love the casting in this movie. Odenkirk's married to Connie Nielson, his dad is Christopher Lloyd, his father in law is Michael Ironside and his brother is RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan. That's like the most bad ass family ever lol.
Such a good movie. I watched it on HBO Max a month back and loved the whole practicality of the action sequences. I was just amazed to see Christopher Lloyd in a action film playing Bob Odenkirk's onscreen father. It had the some of the stunt team from John Wick such as Daniel Bernhardt and Alain Moussi as they appeared in the bus fight scene with Bob Odenkirk. Daniel Bernhardt is the one that trained Bob in preparation for the role.
I love how this was kind of the opposite of John Wick. John got dragged back into a life he didn't want any part of anymore, while here you have someone who just want an excuse to go back to his old life haha
This was GREAT in theaters! The creativity for the shots and combat in this movie plus the pace set by editing was so extraordinary. Enjoyed the reaction/review 👍
Wow what an awesome surprise! I absolutely love the cinematography of this movie which is not what I was expecting at all going into it. Bob Odenkirk is a legend for doing all his own stunts!
One of the best 'show, don't tell' moments that let's you know just how much of a secret badass Hutch was, came when the Vietnam veteran in the tattoo shop saw the ink on Hutch's wrist and thanked him for his service, went into the back room, and locked 7 locks then closed the viewing portal. The rest of the guys in the shop saw that and changed their tune based on that guy's reaction to the man. That one tiny exchange tells you more than 90 seconds of expository dialogue could've.
And the playing cards tattoo he notices is a 7 and a 2, otherwise known as the worst statistical hand in poker. We don't really learn much about Hutch's regiment but it subtly hints that they were expected to win even with the worst hand possible or insufficient support/preparation. Love this movie. also, I like to wonder how he got out of that room after being locked in 🤣spare keys or did the vet come back to let them out?
My favorite lines in this movie comes when Christopher Llyod comes out of that door blasting away to help Bob Odenkirk. Hutch: "You brought a lot of shotguns." Pop: "You brought a lot of Russians." I laughed so hard when I first heard those lines.
Fun fact: the hacker at 14:34 is played by the director's wife. She also works in film and has a distinguished career herself. She also had a small role in his previous known movie, Hardcore Henry
I know that Nobody came out in 2021... But I'm still angry that we don't already have a Nobody 2. I loved the John Wick movies, but there is just something special about seeing Bob Odenkirk murdering everyone. It is so satisfying.
This was a treat to watch in theatres. Bob Odenkirk as a hardened, aged, and jaded assassin gives audiences more bang for their buck than what they expected.
The wiping of the white board fits perfectly with the character. He's enjoying this chaos and murder! So now and then you see him smirk, or do something unnecessary but fun, that's literally Hutch having the time of his life
It was exactly what I look for in this more recent, ultra violent type, action movie genre. Nothing overly complex or creative other than the fight choreography or a few wacky camera shots. Simple and effective! If they want to build it into a franchise they just slowly put the pieces on the table over time. I'll continue to eat this stuff up as it is always fun escapism from the real world when needed.
19:39 "Baddest-ass needle drop of all time!" No actually, that comes a little while later with Heartbreaker. Seriously, everybody always talks about the bus fight in this movie, and yes it's amazing, but the car chase is easily in my top 10 favorite action scenes of all time.
Funfact: 2 guys who came up to kill Lloyd 1 is the director of the movie 2 is popular russian singer, who is friend of director. Ilya made a lotr of clips for him
This is one of the most enjoyable action movies in a long time. Its up there with John Wick obviously but I think it also compares extremely well with some classics like Commando and those kinds of movies. I really hope we can get sequels to this, as long as Bob Odenkirk's health isn't an issue. I know people have heart attacks and can keep doing well health wise - but he really worked out and got in serious shape for this movie, I don't know if that would be an issue moving forward for him and this hopefully new franchise.
Christopher Lloyd played Bryan Cranston's dad in Malcolm In The Middle and Bob Odenkirk's dad in this... They were both in Breaking Bad together, not a huge deal lol just a neat little fact 😁
The reason the mob boss was so messed up after the explosion was he had a claymore charge detonate about 2 feet directly in front of his face, it’s full of plastic explosive and ball bearings in the side that says “front towards enemy” so it’ll essentially shred anything in front of it, they’re usually meant to be used as an anti-infantry mine at about ankle level, likely won’t immediately kill you but say goodbye to your shins forever
Bob Odenkirk auditioned for Michael Scott for 'The Office'!! Can you believe that?? But they chose Steve Carrell for the role, so they got Bob for an episode in a later season, playing a similar character.
john wick: takes down mafia using specialized training and tactics Nobody: takes down mafia by being resourceful and making them fight on his own turf. Hotline Miami: This just in, Florida man in rubber chicken mask kills entire Russian mafia.
Also, if you want to see more great Bob Odenkirk, I can only recommend the amazon show Undone. From the creator of Bojack and extremely underrated. Season 2 also launches at the end of this month.
I can’t believe you guys haven’t watched this yet! It’s great. It’s one of those where I’d be totally fine if there was or wasn’t a sequel. It works so well on its own
I’m so happy this movie was filmed in my hometown, Winnipeg doesn’t have a lot going for it but old Bobby filmed Nobody here and that’s more then enough for me!
IM SO HAPPY YOU DECIDED TO REACT TO THIS, none of the other reactors haven’t seen it let alone heard of it but thankfully my favorites decided to take the reigns
His father was an auditor you can see the tattoo on his wrist when he smokes the two hitmen. The baby was on oxygen you can see the mask in the baby scene.
You guys need to listen to Bob Odenkirk of Conan O’Brian’s podcast talking about this movie. At one point he talks about how when he took the part he did it mostly to see what his fellow brothers and sisters in comedy would think about him being a action movie badass.🤣🤣👏🏽👏🏽
Who would have thought that a 50 something year old comedian not exactly built like Joe Rogan could suddenly become a badass action hero? Bob Odenkirk is the man.
Favorite Bob Odenkirk sketch on Mr. Show ever: Tube Socks! He just looked so nonplussed and like whatever while his wife acted so gnarly happy. One of my favorite things ever!
Happy that you 2 are watching it, loved bob odenkirk in better call saul and more in this he put the time in for the training and cant wait for the sequel
The cinematography throughout this movie was truly incredible. I love how its john wick but flipped in the fact the bad ass auditer wanted to be in the shit again so its a story of just some psychopathic bad ass who just wants to put some bad guys down cause he feels bored in the domestic life.
would love to see more movie reactions like this!!! feels like I get to rewatch the best parts of the movie!!! Keep up the great work guys!!! also this is your reminder that tickets for dr strange in the multiverse of madness go on sale tomorrow at 6AM PT/8AM CT/9AM ET
it's so weird, i watched this movie on another reaction channel and it was longer, but didn't show as many key points. really, Kudos to whoever edits this, you do a great job of getting all those notable points in there.
There is actually a folk tale regarding the last song the bad guy was singing “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. People say that when you sing that song on a karaoke, you will die. 😃
When this came out, COVID was waning, and theaters were open, but there weren’t many people showing up. I got there early on opening night and just sat there, alone, until the movie started. I posted that I was in the theater, and “Nobody” was there, and, oddly, I was in the theater and nobody was there…
By the way, I don't know if you're interested in that bit of trivia, but the bandit who aims a gun at old man (20:21) - Sergey Shnurov, actual Russian music legend in genre of mocking songs composed mostly of swearwords and curses, I don't know proper English word for his style) Like, not just some new guy, who recently emerged and tries to increase his popularity by small movie roles - he's country-wide known TV-person since 90-s. With parodies, folk humour anecdotes about him and all other small stuff that makes artist into part of national culture. So it was pretty big amusing cameo for us, while nothing at all for you)) Well, and now I'll probably go and copy that comment under all other recent reactions to Nobody. But I actually remembered that and started on your channel, if it means something special between us)
Fuqing Epic Movie Loved it!! Loved your guys reaction & excitement during the Bus Fight!! And the rest. Also I half expected a Great Scott to come out of Christopher’s mouth lol
As the drinker put it- Sometimes you get tired of all those mastercrafted meals with more CGI than footage. Sometimes you just want a simple, good, greasy burger and a beer. That's this movie- Good, simple burger n' beer.
This movie is one of my favorites cause of how dirty the fights are, it makes it seem more realistic cause in a fight you’re going to get hurt in a knife fight you WILL get cut. This movie did a fantastic job of the “hero” getting fucked up too but getting back up and continuing to extend the bad guys tenure eating the “hospital food” 😂
Theres a difference between being a coward and being smart by not escalating things and not risking your life's and the people you love life's unnecessarily
Bob Odenkirk is great in this movie, just so you know guys Ilya Naishuller is only one russian director who made it great in Hollywood😀, he also made a video for the weekend-false alarm. Christopher Lloyd and RZA are awesome in this movie, but someone has to notice that Russian bad guy played by Aleksey Serebryakov is awesome too, he is very famous in Russia and legend. And in one scene where they trying to kill Christopher Lloyd was Ilya Naishuller himself🙂
4:50 in some offices thats the last place anyone would look! Our machine shop is moving to a new place and we threw out some stuff from the freezer that were blocks of ice. No one really used it other than to keep their leftovers cold. No reason to use the freezer. When he shuts the door you can tell everything in that freezer was frosted over with ice falling. I thought it was a nice touch saying "don't worry about the gun no one uses this".
The fact that the wife knew his passed because he said just like old times when she was patching him up But then also called their uncle a real soldier That means that she knew how top-secret what he did was, and so she was playing along
After watching this and Hardcore Henry (and before Shawn Levy was ultimately chosen), director Ilya Naishuller was my personal choice to helm Deadpool 3, because the style in those films were absolutely amazing. Even writer Derek Kolstad worked on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and producer David Leitch directed Deadpool 2, I thought they would've given him a letter of recommendation. I'm sure Levy will do good tho
