Keep your battery pack in the vehicle. Some people keep it in there home. It’s not going to do any good if it’s back at the house and you need the vehicle has a dead battery. Anyway if you can afford it replace your battery every four years. That’s about the life time of a car/truck battery. You can get it replaced at any local auto parts store or your mechanic can do it. It’s usually free installation at auto parts store and the battery price less. I’ve done this for over fifty five years and never had to jump start a vehicle. It’s a good idea to still have a pair of good quality jumper cables in case your battery pack is to weak or you forget to recharge it every few months. Make sure you buy a wire gauge of 2/4 and you don’t need twenty foot long cables. The smaller the number of gauge wire the better transfer of power from a good battery. It will say on the package or ask the auto parts guy. A bit more money for quality. Yes today’s batteries work hard with all the power we use in our vehicles. I recharge my battery every couple of months with my battery charger . You can buy a no maintenance battery. If you purchase a battery with caps you have to check the water in the cells. Always use distilled water if you have to add a bit to bring to the level line. Good luck happy driving.😁

I've had mine for 7 years, and it still holds a good charge. I've used it a few times to jump my own dead battery, so I'm figure it's paid for itself many times over. Highly recommend.

I'd say if I had to boost my rig more then a couple of times, I'd be shopping for a battery, or charging system. I had car that I didn't drive much and waited a couple of months before I replaced the battery but these little things came in handy. Just don't forget to charge it at least a couple times a year.

I got the GB70 after watching my equipment installer use it on one of my vehicles and instantly starting the car. Much better than letting a battery charge up with jumper cables.

Amazing. Really hard to believe such a small thing could perform so well. Heck even using another running car to jump a dead battery it often takes several minutes before you can get a car to crank like that does in seconds.

Kudos for your great video in cold, miserable weather on pretty gnarly vehicles. UPDATE: After five years I used it for real two days ago. It's been sitting in my trunk for the last couple of years without additional charging and it fired my 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid right up. Freakin' awesome product.

It will not jumpstart a diesel tho,but even large gasoline trucks with no problem!

The exclamation button you pressed is used when the battery is really dead. Its a manual override for the unit.

Check out a video on the OZ-CHARGE RESCUE MATE it doesn't need charging doesn't have an internal battery it gets its charge from the dregs of the battery its hooked up to...Amazing technology.

I have the NOCO GB30. I use it to jumpstart my project cars. I also bring it on my motorcycle camping trips to charge my cell phone and in case I need to jump start my bike. Highly recommend it.

The Exclamation point, is the manual override if the GB40 can't detect the battery. This does remove some of the safety features with it so it's a mode only to use if needed. Otherwise in most cases the device will go right into boost mode.

Exclamation point is used all the time in my tow truck. Works great, doesn't hurt the unit at all. It's the only jump pack we use in our trucks

Very impressed with the GB40. I have a GB150 that hasn't let me down yet. But, I have to say that as impressive as the GB40 was - those Subaru's starting after all that time was just as impressive to me. I'm an American car guy, but I have always said that if I was to buy Japanese; it would be a Subaru. Thanks for the great video! 1st time watching your channel, but I enjoyed the honest review. And yes-I did subscribe and rang the bell!!!

I was doing property maintenance at a hotel for the past 6 years or so, and that would usually involve helping people with flats in our parking lot, or dead batteries. Our boss bought us one of these and it came in handy constantly. We'd just make sure it was charged up and any time somebody needed a jump, just basically hit a button and send them on their way

Great video. When using this booster, turn the engine over for 3-5 seconds. If it doesn't start wait about a minute and try again. This prevents the booster from draining down so quickly and gives the battery a chance to charge a little. The lights will scroll back in forth if the unit can detect the battery. I think the battery has to have a least 2-5 volts in order for it to detect it. That's why the lights didn't scroll on the completely dead batteries. Once you press that override button it allows the unit to act like straight jumper cables (Disables all safeties and limitations (Cables will spark if touched together in this mode) ). Some of the comments below mention that the unit drains when store in their vehicle during winter months. I store mine in a small case that is kept in my SUV all the time. I charge it maybe every 4-6 weeks during the winter to keep it fully charged.

@@Volkswear fingers crossed I am about to try & start a Renault Master using the GB50. We had no success with a lower unit (not Noco G40 as they had no stock), the battery just got flatter & now wont even try to turn over.

I have a WeeGo which looks exactly like yours and I too have had similar results but the biggest test was at Disney we powered 4 phones all day and you know how many pictures and checking lines length etc you do and every phone ran at 100% ALL day!! I too am amazed at how long these things hold a charge! Great Video!!

The real test would be to - store the charger in the car for a few days in the cold ( below freezing )and see if it jumps a battery . Since most people will store this in their car trunk.

Yea thats a great point, I work one week in one week out at a fly in camp in Canada, I bought a bigger dewalt charger that I left in back seat, after one week of sitting at -30c it would not start my Ram 1500. So i learned my lesson and bought this one, specifically so I could take up with me in my carry on bag. Im not going to take the chance of leaving it in the glove box in the middle of winter.

Actually, it is a bad idea. LiPo cells don't like the cold. I don't think this thing is made of supercaps.

I have a similar type of power source and have gotten 4 jumps out of it over the course of a day. I do not leave it in the car during the summer when it's hot. Haven't had an issue with the cold but these things are so compact you could easily carry it in a computer bag or pocketbook when leaving the car.

Had one of these for couple years very happy I recharge of small solar panel and the charge my cellphone and lites and other things in the mountains ,wouldn't be without one. Used it a couple times to start my diesel rig. ,they done good 👍 👌 👏

We use the larger version of this jump pack in our tow trucks. Way better than the giant 25 Lb ones we used to use. If one of these won't jump start a car or pickup, something else is wrong lol

There is no question ...it's very powerful & appropriate electronic device & my decision to have it was correct !!! Because it proved able to started my engine in a fraction of a second & it's far superior to my other devices of course some much cheaper but from what I heard it can being charged endless times & it have a powerful light too !!! On top of that it's very simple to used it !!!even a woman can do that !!!first hook the positive & then the negative then push the activation bottom on & immediately turned the auto key on !!! Then as soon the engine started pushed the bottom off & first disconnected the negative & last the positive & you are done !!! It's simple as that!!! It eliminated time & long gables !!! Time is everything & simplicity superb !!!

These things are great. A hotel valet saved me twice with one of these...this same brand...not sure which model. I decided I had to have one. I shopped around on Amazon and bought several, all different brands (not Noco) and different capacities, all similar in size to a large cellphone...gave one to each of my children for their cars, and kept 2 for myself. They claim they can jump 20-30 cars on one charge. I have not tested that...lol...where does the average person find 20-30 dead cars to try it out on? Lol. The long continuous cranking does take a toll on them. Shorten your cranking attempts, even if it takes more total it won't draw it down as much. Great video...

Great video! This is what we wanna see in a review, not just reading specs off the box! There were a few concerning videos I’ve seen of the GB40 but I bought one after seeing this. I literally just bought this at Canadian Tire, We've had extreme temps for a month straight. Night time lows have been averaging -46 Celsius.. Day time highs are around -36, Friday and Saturday dipped down to -51 Celsius. My built in trickle charger somehow became disconnected on my last oil change, so Plugging it in all this time was doing nothing. So it would not start at all. I have a 2012 Dodge Journey V6 AWD. Battery is located by the drivers side tire. My buddy had an Eliminator power pack Hooked it up and started right up.... And right to the store and picked up the GB40 . Good deal they were on sale... Like you I just lived through the month of "my gawd is that temp reading -50 Celcius!"....Yep Northern Ontario fun....so my Tacoma died in the process and it was 5 days of downtime for me...Tried a Napa Auto 400amp unit and it worked I'll give it that but it didn't start...It turned it over though for quite awhile but the problem was deeper so I'll give 100 percent credit to the NAPA unit. Regardless my friend has the GB40 and he got in on sale at Canadian Tire...He started 4 vehicles during the Deep Freeze. Myself I had to buy a new battery and change the plugs and hard wired a 2amp battery charger in the battery box. I just bought an ABOX 1500A Peak Car Jump Starter from Amazon.ca to have as a backup though so....

I have two GB40 units, one in my wife's car, and one I always carry with my motorcycle (which I ride and commute on year-round in NJ USA). I top off their charge every month or two. Noco has various adapter cables; I got the one that mates with my Battery Tender when I'm parked at home. I have the connector accessible just under the seat of the motorcycle, so I can easily plug the GB40 into it without needing to take the seat off to access the battery. These are sturdy units with thick well-built cables. Recommended!

Felt it was fitting after the Chrysler emblem fell off the rear hatch. Some of my JEEP friends didn't find it so funny.

I own one and love it. My engine is small.....1.8 liter Mazda Miata. Great little unit and seems better built than the other ones on the market. Very impressive that it got that Suburu going. (Jump 3) Great knowing I have this exact model in my trunk. You are in cold conditions which makes it more impressive. It would likely have given you one more good start if it wasn't so cold out there. Hey it does a great job recharging my Tablet and cellphone too.

Had this for many years now. Still works like a charm. Used it many times on my spare car that sits outside and rarely gets driven. Works every time. If the battery is very dead, there is an additional more powerful mode by holding the button down for 5 - 6 seconds and the lights start racing faster. It gives a lot more battery power to jump start, but there is a risk of damaging the battery if not done correctly.

Holding the “!” button for 3 seconds is a manual override to force “boost” on. Boost is the mode you need to be on to jump cars. It doesn’t force/“boost”more power, but allows the pack to detect batteries under 2volts.

I carry my gb40 in my Daypack with everything else I normally keep with me. Because it's so lightweight and useful for cell phones and tablets and whatever I find it useful for that plus if I pass by somebody on the road who has a dead battery I can help them jump start their car without having my car with me. The gb40 is the best jump starter I've seen. Connect the cables press start start your car. It doesn't get easier than that. And it has never failed me.

This is giving me hope. I have tongo back home to minus 50 temperature. Found out my 2016 van wont start. It started the day before. Wont start.now. I have the Jump booster at home never used it yet. This will be my first test of the product

That thing is awesome , all i need is to jump one car every now and again .And you jumped 6 vehicles on one charge and still had juice left AMAZING !!

Noco products are awesome. I purchased this after great experience using the noco genius g3500 charger to tend my battery on my car thats driven once a week. I recently sold my house and downsized and had to put my car in a vehicle storage unit with no power outlet. Problem Solved!

I have this exact model of NOCO Genius. It is absolutely amazing product. I love it. I use it for my motorcycle all the way up to my V6 SUV. Works every time. Very compact, extremely solid and stupid proof. Another guy unplugged his V6 SUV's battery and just connected this and turned it off and on a bunch of times and it went on to 9 times before it gave up.

Probably more cost effective to start and run them for half an hour a month rather than needing to buy new batteries

Kind of funny... Second Subaru start... pumping a fuel injected car. (Which I'm sure you knew does no good at all, but giving fuel pump a few more seconds to work does.)

i have had my noco booster for 2 years . it has saved my ass numerous times . i tell everyone they should go out and buy one of these to keep in their glove box. i got mine on sale and used some store coupon and got it for about $90.00 . excellent product.

I use the gb40 in my motorcycle. Now in the winter my lithium start battery doesnt like the cold and needs to warm up before having some proper boost. If I am in a hurry I hookup the gb40 and fubar it untill it starts frozen. It's also nice to be able to help someone else.

I am impressed. I just bought a NOCO GB40 from Amazon and received it yesterday. My plans are to power my phone, tablets and Laptop during power outages when they happen. If this device can jumpstart 6 cars with dead batteries, I should have no problems.
