@@terryconley5166 It doesn't work on all batteries, especially if they are bulging or have bad cells. Were you able to check the electrolyte levels and add distilled water if needed? Did you run repair mode?
Thanks for explaining "Repair Mode" to me. I just purchased a new battery, because I didn't know about repair mode, and I was only able to get the Noco to charge the one year old battery to 31% health. The new battery drained down to 19% health in two days, and then I charged it with the Noco again to 31%. This made me wonder. I wasted money on a new battery, but at least I learned from it. Hope changing the alternator is the issue....1993 Nissan Pathfinder giving me grief.
Great to watch you tested with Grand Cherokee. I'm trying to charge the car battery with Genius 10 for a Grand Cherokee. The charger connects with positive/negative terminals under the hood as you mentioned. But the LED on the charger has been staying at 25% and dimming in and out at 50% for a while (more than 24 hours). The electronic panel in front of driver seat has been flashing when connected with Genius 10 charger. Any ideas why it does not reach 100%? Thanks a ton!
Good video , thank you . I have a very wide / long battery on my Merc S Class , I was wondering would the red and black leads that connect to the car battery are wide enough on this model of NOCO? tia. On my NOCO GB50 the car battery leads seem very short .
In your video your car battery appears to be hooked up to car. And you used the repair mode? You say need to unhook your battery, but your video showed your hooked up? What is the right thing to do
Is this Noco Genius 10 good for Freezing climates? My battery wouldn't start my truck in -25 degree weather. I'd be using as a trickle charger overnight. And is this the proper model for a Honda Ridgeline?
How do you know if you need to run repair mode on the battery? I had trouble with my old charger and it overcharged the battery. I drained it to about 50% and charged it with the Genius 10. It's in maintenance mode now hovering around 13v. Battery is about 2 years old. Marine battery being used for backup sump pump so really will rarely get used. I just want to make sure the battery is ok.
My battery is totally flat. I connected this charger and it was slowly pulsing on red the first bar, then about 5 minutes later it went all the way to green and that started pulsing. Not sure why as the car battery is totally flat so not sure why it’s saying it’s almost full?
The charger thinks the battery is fully charged because the few good cells in the battery probably are charged. The bad news is that you had a battery that needed replaced due to all of the bad cells that couldn’t take a charge. With this charger it’s possible that the repair mode would help restore some of the cells but unlikely it will make the battery new again.
In repair mode, does the 12v repair light just flash, or do the charging lights flash to let you know how far through repair mode you are? If just the 12V repair light flashes, how do you know when repair mode is complete? Does it return to standby mode?
REPAIR MODE: An advanced battery recovery mode for repairing and restoring, old, idle, damaged, stratified or sulfated batteries. When selected, a red LED will illuminate and flash. It should simple return to a solid orange standby light. There's no identification of completeness.
You have to have the battery fully charged BEFORE you can use repair mode??? If so, what are you repairing? Also, repair mode is for all types of batteries listed?
For optimal results, take the 12-volt battery through a full charge cycle, bringing the battery to full charge, before using this mode. 12V Repair can take up to four (4) hours to complete the recovery process and will return to Standby when completed
Did you measure the 'maintenance mode' voltage? I own the precedessor - G7200 (and many more charges, since I look after a bunch of yacht batteries) and it has no float, unlike other brands. Many brands offer ~13,5 V float once charging is done. Cheap crap just switch off when done. Noco so far did 'monitor' and trickle with some impulses not allowing to drop below the 'full charge voltage', but this means the battery was kept at around 12,9 - 13,0 V. This obviously means that if full gravity wasn't restored, the trickle charge won't do any good. G7200 was awesome in repair mode but is lacking the float voltage (manufacturer confirmed me that in writing 2 years ago, that they don't have the float voltage in maintenance mode in the 'current range of Genius chargers'. Did the upgraded product line change in that matter or you still don't see 13,6-13,8 V on a connected battery after a few days or weeks, rather seeing 12,9 V instead. That's what G7200 does.
thanks for the reply, I simply am just doing an unboxing and real world review on the device. I would assure that Noco would be able to answer those questions.
Ładowanie w trybie Repair 16.5v przy podłączonych klemach mocno ryzykowne dla elektroniki. Powinno się odłączyć akumulator od samochodu przy takim napięciu. Pozdrawiam z Polski
Converts to a DC power supply for powering any 12VDC device, like a tire inflator, oil changer, or as a memory retainer when replacing a battery. When selected, a red LED will illuminate.
The genius 2 has a smaller gauge of cable but the adapter I bought is compatible with the Noco 10. For how long the Noco will be in a "charge" mode, I'm not too concerned.

I am starting an auto locksmith business. When I am making a key when all keys are lost, I need to make sure the battery stays good when I am messing with the ECU through the OBD. Will I be ok to charge the battery while I am plugged in to the ODB? Thanks :)
Hello, I'll be away for 1 year and I want to leave my battery in maintenance mode but I have a doubt! If there is a power cut, when the power is restored will the Noco 10 automatically turn on or it's necessary to press the mode button? Thanks :)
I can't confidently answer this question. When you unplug the unit and plug it back in, but I'm not sure if it loses power. Might have to contact Noco support.
@@thedetailhotlap I found the answer, if I can help someone I'm happy with it. It keeps in memory the last mode used, it's fantastic, if there's a problem with the electricity it won't be a problem. It's a good device, I recommend it. Thanks :)
Does the green light ever stop flashing and become solid? I've had mine hooked up to my 90 amp hour deep cycle for 2 and a half days and the green light is still flashing.
A fading in and out light means it's in maintenace mode. Keeping your battery charged. If it's flashing it's still charging. possibly try the repair mode if the battery won't accept a full charge.
Was thinking of getting NOCO Genius 10. My question is how to determine what type of battery you have? I have looked for some writing on the actual batteries themselves but doesn't state as such (12V or 12V AGM). Thanks.
Hi there, is there a way to know if a battery needs to be repaired? Im a little confused what repair mode means, like is it for storing a battery long term?
Yes, maintenance mode works if you leave your vehicle sitting more then 2 days. It also discharges it by sub 1 volt then charges it to keep it from only charging.
My noco 10 stays stuck at 1 red bar while charging, goes to the next bar then quickly back to the first. Why is this, charging for over 4 hrs Everything hooked up correctly. Currently charging car battery 12v
You did say disconnect the cables correct before putting in to repair mode but I'm guessing you didn't because you wasn't actually going to repair the battery
some of the new chargers out there has these features ..”battery charger, battery maintainer, trickle charger,”float charger”,plus battery desulfator.” 5 in 1.
