The closing reception for Derrick Breidenthal's "Nocturnes" and Ben Weddle's "Panoramics" exhibitions took place on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 4 - 7 pm. The reception featured a musical response to the artworks on Facebook Live performed by pianist Dr. Nathanael May, Chair of the School of Arts at Missouri Western State University. Dr. May was appointed Chairperson of the School of Fine Arts at Missouri Western State University in 2020, where he lectures as a Professor of Piano. Dr. May previously served as chairperson of the Department of Music and has received faculty awards for Teaching Excellence, Outstanding Scholarship, and Service Leadership in recognition of his achievements at Missouri Western.

The exhibitions "Nocturnes by Derrick Breidenthal" and "Ben Weddle: Panoramics" were on view at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art from January 15 - April 11, 2021. The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art aims to enrich the community through the collection and exhibition of visual arts by providing education, creating unique experiences, and nurturing regional artists.
