They really were. I was actually buying their albums. I liked them but I thought they were a bit corny too. I played them only two or three times before I moved on to the next thing. It's only now that I realize how much innovation was there and they had deserved more attention.
I bought this cassette when it was released and I don't think i took it out of my stereo for a month. So different from most other bands at the time. Other than Morbid Angel maybe.
First time I heard this song I was in the ninth grade, my friend and I were on acid and we listened to this album on a rainy night. I’ll never forget it because I was freezing cold and I was trying to remember what was the difference between good and evil...good times🤘🏻
I remember being 16 (1991) and buying this along with NWA Efil4zaggiN. Def a weird combination but hey…it was all new then. Btw…am I the only one who associates that opening keyboard effect with the cenobite Dr. from Hellraiser 2?? 😄

Forefathers of old school tech death/thrash. This was an unimaginably futuristic record; many bands came, emulated, and perished, but none came close to replicating its charm.
@@timbuk1126 That opening riff is basically a fusion of the Raining Blood intro riff and the breakdown (right after the "Your time slips away" part). And the way the double bass drum kicks is definitely Raining Blood.
@@dante666jt lol relax elitist. these bands all listened to each other and got ideas from each other's songs. that was normal in the 80s and early 90s. Nocturnus very likely listened to Slayer and Metallica, so it makes sense their music would would have some of their influence
God can't be proven or disproven. If a transcendent God exists outside time and space we can only guess and try to look for clues, maybe in life and nature itself. Some will say there are absolutely no clues or that they are interpret wrong. Therefor it will remain a mystery that will always be discussed.
@@RushianRichard you know if something lies out of time and space it technically doesn't exist. If it isn't in the laws of physics it doesn't exist. And extraordinary claims such as god take extraordinary evidence While what is claimed without evidence can be refuted without evidence.

Wow, that sounds like you have figured it all out. Technically, DNA is fully known, so why don’t they just ‘cure’ death by pushing the right buttons or stretching telomeres? How can non-physical memories be stored in physical brain matter and form mental worlds? How is this all even possible? Science still can’t explain the phenomena of dreams, or the speed at which babies learn to speak and memorize language. Does this all technically not exist? Or is there pre-coded information that we don’t know the origin of, other than that it’s “just” there?
Just because we do not fully understand something doesn't mean a god or gods exist or do not exist. I'm not saying a god cannot exist (I know I came off that way), I don't think speculating about this god or gods will prove anything. It's pointless to try to predict if a God exist in my opinion. But I guess it comes down to how humans have to have the answer for EVERYTHING. Honestly that's probably one of the biggest reasons most religious invented, (besides controlling people) to answer questions that cannot be answered. But I digress, what I meant to say was honestly why care if god/gods exist or do not exist? It's impossible to know anyway.
That tiny crash cymbal is *absolute shit!* 🤣 Other than that, I must say this is pretty damn great! An interesting and original sound, compared to most of the other stuff that was happening in metal at the time. (Original, apart from the obvious Slayer rip-off riff, that is...😄)
Casi toda la música es progresiva. Es gracioso como ahora le buscan el progresivo a todo. Si hace referencia al género sinceramente en este tema no escucho nada de progresivo. Y de técnico... bueno es el mismo chiste. Fuera de eso, excelente tapa de disco y bueno, el tema está bueno...
Amigo ubicate en tiempo y espacio, en ese momento era una novedad que una banda de death tenga teclados y los tildaron de death tecnico/prog. Obvio que hoy en dia hay bandas mucho mas tecnicas y prog.
