The Gallaghers (and I am no huge fan of theirs) know how to do 60s British pop really well. I've heard them do My Generation and of course, The Walrus, and they were able to pull those songs without sounding karaoki-ish. Their version of The Walrus is, in my opinion, the only way to do that song live.
No frills, guitar oriented version of 'Strawberry Fields Forever", minus the melotron intro, numerous special effects, buried vocals, and surreal tricks employed by the Beatles. The understated vocals of Noel Gallagher hold up pretty well too. This group Gem does a great job supporting him. This was a solid competent version of the tune, and a pleasure to hear. Great job!
Noel Gallagher and Oasis always had The Beatles present. In fact in their presentations they played "I am the warlus". Oasis a band with evident influences from their compatriots The Beatles.

No, that would be Damon Albarn. Just like the Beatles did, he's working in different genres and mediums and often with a sense of humour. I say that and I'm not even a big fan of the fella. But if you want Britain's premier kareoke beatle then yeah it'll be one of the Gallaghers. Christ they're still dressing like Lennon in 1965, the thing is though Lennon grew up and moved on til some twat shot him, the Gallaghers are going nowhere.
