By the way, we are an upcoming band who are very inspired by the music of Oasis and Noel. If you are interested, head over there 👈 and let us know what you think of our songs. Your support would help us a lot!
Listening to this since yesterday. What a tune. Noel’s solo work has been excellent and I hate how people slate it cos “it’s not oasis”. The man is a genius.
This song arrived in perfect timing to my life. I'm taking lifechanging decisions this days and I'm afraid and I overthink if I'm taking the best choices of them all, but I know I don't need to be scared, I just have to open the door, see what I find, and don't look away. Thank you, Noel. Peace.
I saw them perform this song live last night - it was incredible! It was release day for the new album, and Noel said something like "here's a song you won't know". The whole place was singing along by the end!
Man, am I hooked. And two days after my 66th birthday I finally get to see this magician and HFB in concert at Pine Knob in Detroit. Can't seem to get enough of Council Skies
An endless box of beautifully crafted melodies! This is surely Noel’s BEST album , I mean it has the greatest song written “ Dead to the World “ June 2 hurry up !!
Massive tune with 3 parts to it. A long verse , bridge and then that chorus. I do miss his guitar solos , but this new album is full of really great songs so far! ❤️
My god Noel is just incapable of doing something wrong. Let’s be honest this men only writes hits is amazing how single after single he keeps proving why he is possibly the best songwriter of his generation by far the best one🔥🔥
I totally agree, I was thinking about this juts the other days. Other artist like weller, McCartney, marr, even to certain extent morrisey seemed to have started to miss a step as regards consistency once and slightly before they were Noel’s age, but he’s still writing songs that are as good if not better than he was writing for a lot of the later oasis stuff. His voice is better than ever. Juts wish he’d properly play guitar like he used to. Maybe he will when we hear the other tracks. ?
@@Richard_Straker when I first saw you reply I thought , really?. But I see where you are coming from now. It’s taken me 25 years to realise ha ha . Noel can definitely play but yes, I agree he maybe isn’t the rocker, which to be fair he has said before.
@@nez9751 - He talked about it before Wembley 2000. Said he was happy to have Gem Archer to share lead duties with because he didn’t see himself as “the Jimmy Page of the band”. I personally think he’s done some great lead work, like those live “Champagne Supernova” outros.
People have mentioned "I am the Key" by the La's, but true to form, he's mixed half a dozen songs together to create another masterpiece. The "ooh la la" backing vocals are following the Piano from Fatboy Slim's "Praise you", the Tubular Bells seem to be a reference to "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve, the Strings remind me of "Do Ya" by ELO/The Move, and the "open the door" section reminds me of the end of "Arnold Layne" by Pink Floyd.
Heard this playing at work a couple months ago and been looking for it ever since. Didn’t know any lyrics but just remembered the violin melody and the way the chorus sounded.
LIAM: "You gotta scream and shout If you're gonna work this out Change comes when the water falls I've been waiting so long for you down by the river" NOEL:White light In the palm of your hand Think twice Don't put your head in the sand Alright, dream it if you wanna All night down by the river Think twice Don't put your head in the sand
