Everytime I hear a new song from Noel....I'm blown away by that sound he creates with his band. I'm in my sixties now but his music makes me feel young again, it's incredibly real and alive, just brilliant songwriting. Can't wait for new album
Dear God...I love Noel's new music so much. This man has made music for every period of my life, going back to when I was a 12 year old boy listening to Definitely Maybe in my childhood bedroom. Now as a 40 year old man, life didn't turn out the way I thought, but Noel's music has helped me get through life and has always been playing as the soundtrack to my days.
@@lukezagorski1I didn't mean to sound dark with that comment, just that all those dreams and aspirations as an adolescent may not have come true, but life still goes on. Much love brotha.
@@dannyh5937 I hear you mate. But we can't all be rock stars and spacemen. Some of us have to work for the man and that's OK, we've always got guys like Noel helping us dream the next dream
I love the way he's bold enough to take risks and reinvent himself.that's a true artist/musician, being true to yourself and crediting your fans with the intelligence to move with you.
I’m 40 years old and this man has been the soundtrack to my life for nearly 30 years through the good, the bad and the ugly. Music and lyrics for every mood. He’s a songwriting genius and there may never be another like him. I love that he keeps evolving and doesn’t churn out the same turgid stuff over and over. This for me is up there with his very best. Rock n Roll, Pop n Soul✌️
He is definitely not a songwriting genius. His songs are written to be chanted by drunken idiots at closing time. They have no depth and no meaning. I do hope you don't fall into that category..
@@darkheart3770 well he is hence why he’s sold millions and millions of records world wide and has longevity over decades. Yes his songs are sung by drunken crowds as they’re massive tunes and singalong anthems but they’re also deep and poignant. Don’t like it then don’t listen, simple really isn’t it
@@derrybulmers Cliff Richard has sold millions of records over decades. All that proves is that lots and lots of people like really shit music. Nothing new there.
When i jumped in Noel's wagon more than 25 yrs ago i jumped for these top guitar melodies, evocative lyrics and a sense of wonder and belonging/not belonging in his songs. He still owns this wagon of british music like no one else and i'm happy to be onboard🙌
I'm really excited for this live. You know how when Noel writes a song he is really writing 3 . The album version which is great, the acoustic one which is mind blowing and the live version which he rocks up. This sounds like it's going to be amazing live!
It's so distinctively Noel yet once again very different. If that's the direction the next album is going I'm here for it! He really matured as a songwriter and broadened his repetoire, I love it when artists are able to do that instead of using the same formula for 40 years
@@InLikeFlynn21 compared to the other fella and his Oasis cover band Noel is more varying in style than the Beatles and Gorillaz combined. What's your point?
@@Francklyynnnn are you being serious? At least the oasis years had a roar, these new, sub-new order / electronic tribute tunes are fair enough, if thats what he's into, but i find them all very mehhhhh
@@patrickbracken3363 mate he's not in his 20s anymore and unlike Liam he isn't making an ass of himself prentending to be (don't get me wrong I love both brothers but only one of them behaves and writes music like an adult). Also if your music doesn't evolve over 30 years you're basically Nickelbag
@@Francklyynnnn "Noel is more varying his style than the Beatles and Gorillaz combined". This is just complete and utter nonsense . He's bringing nothing new, just reheating things that have been done better before. I always find his new tracks disappointing. If he's enjoying himself then fair play, but he's a spent cultural force. Defending it by comparing it to what Liam does is just weak. Liam Gallagher isn't a song writer - but as a front man he's still inspiring people. He still has some kind of relevance, even if his tunes are tired out.
@Roger The Shrubber Woah! Roger the shrubber was my favourite holy grail character for years as he seemed like one of the only normal and wise men in the kingdom of Mercia until about my 15 th viewing I finally noticed he had 2 peasants at the front to pull his cart like horses then I realised he's just as nuts as the rest of them around him
People say there’s no good music now, there is! Just that there’s less good music now but it’s still there, this is a fine example of that there is still great music, cheers Noel, classic!!
Iam 39 .....Oasis is Soundtrack of my youth ....and Iam so happy that i can still enjoy music from Liam and Noel.....I am so excited about new album of HFB .... Noel i wish you could play this guitar for me all night.... ❤
First time I heard this I knew that it was special. The lyrics and the way Noel sings them are mesmerising. . You just want to hear more. Captivating. The sound behind him and the track is subtle and at the same time brilliant. It's timeless. Makes you drift.
Correct, however in the last few years Liam has by far had the better albums, need to get back together so I can see them for the 6th time ( titp 02, hampden, murrayfield, etihad and Aberdeen secc, don't care where it is, I'll be there, massive noel fan since 95, were so lucky to have both still going strong from 92 - 93, legends
Lyrics: Beneath the starry sky Of a distant moon At the magic moment That's gonna come too soon There was a girl like me There was a boy like you She made him sing like Elvis When she's feeling blue You tell me that you want it, yeah, yeah You tell me that you need it, yeah, yeah And know you can't have it, yeah, yeah So get your head down pretty-boy You got the dreams of children You gotcha eyes of gold I hope you live to see them Before you get too old You tell me that you want it, yeah, yeah Tell me that you need it, yeah, yeah And know you can't have it, yeah, yeah So get your head down pretty-boy She was a lot like me She was a lot like you No matter what you say No matter what you do You bring the whole world down I'll make your dreams come true Tell me that you want it, yeah, yeah Tell me that you need it, yeah, yeah And know you can't have it, yeah, yeah So get your head down pretty-boy She was a lot like me She was a lot like you No matter what you say No matter what you do You bring the whole world down Can you delete my number? I wanna get me free I wanna change my star sign Because it don't suit me Because it don't suit me Because it don't suit me Because it don't suit me
Gracias por no ser un vendido más de la música Noel. Noel es una máquina de componer y nunca defrauda. Llevo 30 años en el mundo musical tocando el piano y otros 20 escuchándolo y puedo decir sin equivocarme que es un genio.
Just got back from seeing them live. They opened with this and it's my new earworm. It sounded incredible--less electronic--calling out into the night, so haunting...
The power of Noel's music. It transforms the most banal reality into magical mystery! My constant and dearest companion for the last 27 years, his music has helped me enjoy every moment of an otherwise ordinary life. It has given me hope and strength and fine dreams...which in its turn has made my life extraordinary! I'm grateful!
@@lukegreig4441 I,m not really a fan of much of his work, and not a big oasis fan either, though i like bits of their work, this tune just really stands out for me and is very different from his other work.
I don't know what it is about this song, but I can't stop listening. I've been an Oasis / Noel & Liam fan in their respective bands since the split, both have made some amazing songs. This one though, makes me feel something that I can't quite place = amazing. Noel is genuinely one of the most underrated artists / writers of all time, surely?
if the new album is as good as Pretty boy it will be wonderful ! The lyrics are so delicate, the music, the voice and the guitar… wow: perfection and emotion ! Can’t wait !!! ❤
His latest work is brilliant..hes found his feet now he's not pandering to the cavemen. Were on our way now was his best song for ages and this is up there
Big Brother pushes forward again and comes out with another beauty. Never one to rest on his past greats. Always propels forward looking for the next great tune and he's done it again.
If there is any justice it should do. Remember, Stock Aitken and Waterman songs were popular, doesn't mean they're any good. Noel ponders and toils about his songs, making them the best they can be, and it shows. The melodies are so strong. I saw an interview with Liam talking about his new album saying he does his part and pops off to the pub. The song structure and intricacies are left to other people. And that shows too.. (yawn)
Loved it !! when i first heard it on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show, North Korea was lucky enough to have it released earlier than us. You are a brilliant at what you do Noel.
I absolutely love this track from Noel, listened to them for Over 30 years and this blew me away. I will say though I did get a little bit of a Coldplay vibe from this when I first heard it.
Noel finally produces a true classic - black and white, French 50's, Alon Delon... Noel, spread you genius wings.... And fly as high as you fxxxxxg want to birdy, I've got a beady eye on you and I'm gonna love watching you do so
Nice to see a gang of actors be so brave so Noel could show his support by doing this video. They suffer abuse, prejudice and hate constantly but never look the other way as actors. Well done Noel and the actors.
Love his solo stuff. This is like the others, getting under your skin after one listen. It'll be great live. Bring on the new album I can't wait. We'll done again noely baby
@@paulcollins5586 It'd be okay if he trimmed it by at least a minute... The song just overstays its welcome without any real major shift in key or chord structure to justify its length. I think it's a good melody but just drones on after awhile.
Ahh when the guitar comes in, in the middle... cure vibes indeed and so glad Robert Smith has done the remix. Noel.. I take my hat off to you. Masterpiece. Would love to see you and Robert Smith do more together. Two of my favourite people. Love this so much
Noel has been prolific his music has got better and better over the years more different from album to album that's a true artist that reinvents era to era
Bit of an exaggeration to say he's got better. It's a difficult argument to make that his best music wasn't made before 95-96. I like BHN and a lot of SOTSOG but he's been very hit and miss since then. I think his critical and commercial success since then would back that up. I do respect him doing his own thing though.
Holy mountain great album the first album by the high flying birds was received very well and chasing yesterday you not going to beat the early days of oasis that's what he'll be remembered for
@@InLikeFlynn21 haha the word itself or what? You have a name I've never heard and a surname which is Irish so you're alright with me. Noel is up there with the best in the world at writing stadium music he's terrible at folk or electronic influenced music. I'm sure it gets boring doing the same old thing and I admire that he doesn't revert to what he's famous for despite the years of criticism.
@@stevenwinton1194 don't agree about Holy Mountain, few alright tunes on it, prefer the remixes of most of the singles. First album was mostly left over Oasis stuff. Everyone runs out of ideas. Dylan, Lennon, McCartney all did eventually. He's still a melodic genius which I think his pal Bono described him as.
So anyone who’s on Noel’s mailing list will know that Noel promised a bag of flaming giant wotsits to the first person who spots his cameo in this video… Has anyone spotted him yet? Cos I bloody haven’t 😂 Watched it on 0.5x speed several times… You must be havin us on Noel! Cracking tune as always Chief
After one listen from my mobile phone, I dig it! As a musician too I gotta say it sounds like a tune straight outta of Who Build The Moon (which is definitely his best solo album yet in my opinion), it has that certain production, it's interesting enough and i think that when I listen to it proper on my studio monitors it will be worthwhile and a grower. Wish Noel on the bits that he sounds almost annoying sometimes (yeah yeahs for example on this one) could have experimented more with his vocals studio wise to make them more comfortable and appealing. A touch of reverb, delay and other effects could have done the work. I'm so proud of him. He's getting better man! Noel grew up with his audience. 🎶Cheers Noel! Can't wait for more.
@@InLikeFlynn21 two months later I do like it. I still stand by my opinion but it would be sung better by a female vocalist this one. That also goes for almost every solo material he released since WBTM cos he changed the keys that his sings and they are better suited for female singers. However, he is a living legend and he can do anything he wants to do. He's earned that right decades ago. So fair play to him. Can't wait for the album.
