Noel Gallagher: Which Bands I'd Love To See Reform 

He needs to know this is how we all feel about Oasis.

So weird, because that's exactly what people think of Noel/Liam and Oasis.

He thinks of the Smiths what we think of Oasis

This is ironic.... this is how I feel about wanting to see Oasis in concert....they parted way and may never reconcile.

Funny cause what he said about Morrissey and Marr sums up what fans think of him and Liam since they split up. Like, Chasing Yesterday is amazing, but wouldn't it be interesting if Liam sang 4 of 5 tunes, specially the up-tempo ones? Maybe the constant conflicts in Oasis were suffocating his creative process.

I don't usually agree with Noel Gallagher but on the subject of The Jam reforming he's right. It'll never happen. The Jam's music as brilliant as it is stood for youth and class war. It would be silly for a man nearing sixty to be singing about being a teenager and political issues that were happening back in the the post punk era. The Jam stopped at the right time in my opinion and will always be remembered for the classic songs they released. They started their chart career at Number 40 and ended it at Number One. They were recording for five years and if you listen to every track they recorded you'll do very well to find a weak one. You will hear Paul Weller on a couple of tracks on Bruce Foxton's latest album but that's as close to a reunion as we're going to get.

If he means he saw Led Zeppelin at the 02 "reunion" * December 2007 I was there and chatted with him after. ; )

Oasis and The Smiths are very similar bands. They launched into stardom thanks to two people and ended over their differences that may never reconcile.

Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce were amazing! Don’t ever forget them. Morrissey, Marr, Rourke and Joyce were The Smiths. Great alt band.

It's like what he says about a Smiths reunion also applies to Oasis getting back together... :-(

Oh the irony…. Imagine the two of them on stage together again it would be fantastic! No one sings those songs quite like Liam, no one plays those songs quite like him. Wise words one should consider Noel.

Morrissey, Marr, Rourke, and Joyce were great together. Morrissey and Marr were half the band. Need that great rhythm section of Rourke and Joyce. All four make up The Smiths. Great alt band.

The best bands never reform...forever remembered in their prime.

You all talk about Liam and Noel. To see Oasis reform? I would pay 10x the money to see the La's reunite (Lee, John, Cammy, Neil) and release album #2.

I heard something that he would reform oasis for 100 million? He would definitely maybe (oi oi) make that and probably more if they did. They would sell out Wembley for countless nights along with the Ethiad. Not to mention Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Even Noel knows work of the Smiths is streets ahead of his own.

Every time Noel says "great" take a shot

I saw Oasis with the new line up in Summer 2000, for all those that haven’t seen them, it wasn’t ever the same after Bonehead and Guigs left (and the new material wasn’t as strong). They were still good but that was the feeling at the time with most of the fans. The best time to see them for me would have even been before Alan White joined, like on the Live By The Sea gig at Southend, before they became massive.

I know there is always some wise-ass who has to say it, but I feel like I do have to make sure Andy and Mike are included here. IMO, no band ever has become 'great' w/o having the engine room in place.

I have heard same thing from so many famous singers, including Brandon Flowers of The Killers and Chris Martin of Coldplay and i just dont get why, tried very hard but can't get into smiths at all :/ i don't get whats so fascinating about them, someone help :D

Saw Oasis live a couple of times and they were terrible. The audience were turning away, but the press would never dare tell you that. Better to believe the myth.
