Amazing album, a true journey start to finish, genius song writing and production, and what an effing legend Noel truly is. All these criticisms on here are just ridiculous bang-wagon jumping, substance lacking, womble cock! That’s right, Womble cock... by cockwombles! The guys work is really deep and creative and inspiring as anything you will hear. Twenty plus years of awesomeness. I think most people were thrown off guard by the first few releases, but then you hear the album as a whole, a story, and t makes complete sense. Fantastic job. I cannot wait to record my own stuff one day, and when I do, if Noel’s influence rubs off on me in the slightest amount, it will be a million times better than if it hadn’t.

You know it's okay to like Liams album and Noels album at the same time?

He's just so open minded when it comes to music, when you've been doing the same thing for 20 years it must feel great to have someone to push you to do something different. People still seem to think he's the same person he was when he was in Oasis, people mature and change and for me Noel is a much much better person now making much better music than he ever did in the last 10 years of Oasis.

Glad he's changed direction and seen the light. Nothing wrong with it. Glad he isn't just a touring nostalgia act anymore. I also like Liam's album which is typical rock n roll but sounding more modern. They are both making fresh sounds again.

This is the first album in a long time I've actually wanted to own. It's fantastic. The tempo, the vibe, the forward looking musicianship is second to none. A truly inspirational album in a time of true garbage in all areas of the mainstream. We'll done Noel. Keep it up. Keep it going. Keep Living Forever.

Whilst I didn't particularly like this album all that much I'm glad I watched this and it definitely gave me an appreciation for what he has done. There aren't many interviews like this where they go through the album in such detail and talk of influences and how they made it - a great companion to understanding his album.

After listening to the album, I realised that there will be no Oasis anymore. Noel just can't go back to the old days writing music oasis style, let alone convincing Liam to adapt to the changes he's gone through musically.

I loved the album! It is really addictive and fun. My favorite must be "If love is the law".... can't stop listening to that one.

In feel bad for Noel he received (still do) load of shit last year, the poor guy can't seem to breath anymore without getting attacked for every fuck think he does nowadays, even though I love Liam I feel in a way he has instigated his fans to hate Noel and his music. If it was released by oasis, people would've loved it, how is it any any different to their first psychedelic experimental album Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants and also Dig Out Your Soul. I for one am glad he went in a different direction, I've totally grown to love the album, he's an unbelievably talented gifted artist he still got it in him to make great stuff we as oasis fan should support and encourage him, if he's not going to do it now then when? This maybe boring to some but you gotta admire his passion and enthusiasm when he talks about his music, he's one of the hard working musician I know who loves and puts alot of energy in his work and I respect him hugely for that.

Noel low key really good/funny with doing accents

clearly Noel is one thousand percent satisfied with this record, despite not having any real pre conceived idea of what the album would sound like.. he just tapped into his musical psyche, let loose and went with it. There's dozens of other obscure references on there, besides psychedelia, Roxy Music, krautrock, Bowie (low period) Acid House, The Prodigy, New Order, The Chemical Brothers, Cabarete Voltaire.. and so on.. The album is constructed form the Beck School of songwriting; a bit like Picasso, steal bits and pieces from everywhere and throw them all in to the mix and see what happens. Having said that, at the very core of the songs, are Noels signature great melodies, gluing it all together... strip it all back from the sonic paraphernalia and the (what the fuck is this shit brigade) would be surprisingly satisfied. However, sadly for those unable to rise to the musical challenge set by Noel, they are left feeling betrayed and somehow let down. Well that's just tough shit I'm afraid, as Noel's a long way past giving two fucks what his fans think, and I for one say good luck to the guy, he's earned it!

You can tell how proud he was of this record looking back. I remember listening to this when the record came out- honestly one of the most incredible moments as a Noel fan.

This record is amazing. Honestly, I actually was not a fan of OASIS in the 90's, I was more of a Stone Roses, Pixies, Brian Jonestown Masaquer fan at the time. I stumble across this interview during the pandemic and instantly had to download this album on Spotify. I listened to it on the way home and have listened to it nearly everyday since. I feel sad because I missed out on this tour and hate myself for it. I am now a Noel Gallagher fan forever full stop. Brilliant, absolutely Fckn Brilliant mate!

As a die-hard U2 fan I was a bit disappointed with their latest album but Noel smashed whatever stereotypes one may have about hitting 50. A wonderful album, which is great overall but also has several tracks that hooked me from the very first listen. A big round of applause followed by a standing ovation. Live Forever!

Dead in the Water (especially having heard the story behind it) is astonishing. But the whole album is really something special.

Just because you’ve listened to Wonderwall at your uncle Daves it doesn’t make you an Oasis fan, his records have had a psychedelic vibe for years. All you whiney entitled fools need to get a grip. It’s a cracking album

I’ve listened to this for a year or more now. This is my favorite album of all time. This includes Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory. I just can’t stop listening to this. Minus Be Careful and Black and White, it’s a masterpiece to me. Feel free to attack.

I’ve been a massive fan of Noel since ‘93 and have everything he has done and love it all and can honestly say I love this album too! So glad he decided to mix it up and move away from his comfort zone and that’s not taking anything away from his previous work which as I say, I love and still play regularly! Can’t wait to see him in Las Vegas in March!

This Interview is brilliant, so glad that Noel is actually doing something different in an almost 30 year carreer of doing pretty much the same (with a few notable exceptions). You´ve got to expand your horizons, i love Oasis but i also love Radiohead, i love the songful Bowie records and the weird ones.

What do people expect him to do, keep making stuff that sounds like Oasis? Everyone had a go at Paul Weller when he left the Jam. The Style council wasn't his finest hour but we never would have had "Stanley Road" or "Wild Wood" if Weller had just tried to please the Jam fans. "Who Built the Moon" is nothing like Oasis but that doesn't mean it isn't brilliant in it's own right. The best album HFB have done.

I like different. Not what I'm calling his best. But I'm calling it something that fills a part in my musical sphere that wasn't ever filled by Noel before. If anything is lacking, it's that I wish there were two more songs.

I must say, a lot of people in this comment section are terribly unreasonable. I actually (kind of) enjoyed the album. It certainly is not the best thing he's ever done however songs like: it's a beautiful life, be careful what you wish for and dead in the water are incredible. I must say however that the album is WAY TOO over compressed. I wish he had chosen a producer who would have helped him do something more experimental but in a way that didn't make him sound like a robot. All in all, fairly decent album and not as bad as some of you say it is.

I have the new Who Built The Moon? And I'm sorry but its very very good. Actually, fuck it, it's exceptional. And I've only had it 12 hours. And I'll 3 listens in, and I've listened to the whole album reach time.

I noted that the arpeggiated guitar in Black & White Sunshine sounded Peter Buck-ish to me the first time I heard it. And I also tell my wife every time I hear it, I love the line "These are the glory days for the waifs and strays..." Noel is awesome. I also appreciate how eager he is to give his time to discuss how he makes music (can't blame his grumpiness when being asked when Oasis is getting back together for the eight millionth time). I'm not a huge fan, I love Oasis and Noel.. but it sounds like some sly slick producers have hijacked his music.

I've got to admit I'm in my 30s now...outgrew oasis several years ago..although have a lot of nostalgia with them. Even back in the day I saw their faults but also knew noel had the potential for great things if only they went off piest a bit and experimented..went out his comfort zone and stopped lifting off others in an obvious and cheesy way. I'm glad to see he's began the journey down that road. A decent start and hopefully he builds on this and he creates a truly great album in this vein in the future. Keep up the good work.

In terms of individual tracts, It's a Beautiful World ranks as one of the best songs he's ever written. If there are complaints about some songs, because his first two solo albums had some really good tracks I get it. But this album is the first complete album , almost a concept album. You need to listen to the whole product, over and over and it remains in your head. Wonderful feel!

I love the album, none of them are up there with Ballad Of The Mighty I but it's different (but not that different) but you can tell a lot of hard work has went into it, i think Holy Mountain completely threw people that much that they going to hate the album before they even heard it...i love Holy Mountain by the way.

This album/interview proves Noel’s music is for fans of all music. Liam’s fans are just oasis fans. Not necessarily bad thing though

How can someone who's now a multi millionaire ever replicate songs written while being unemployed and those feelings of your life going nowhere and hopelessness with nothing but a burning ambition ? Its not gonna happen ! Noel is now in a different place and hell never be as hungry but he has to move on but us fans sometimes don't accept it. Noel always wears impeccable leather jackets. I have a massive collection of leather and denim jackets. But never look as cool as Sir Noel of Manchester.

I’m a huge NG fan. I consider him the best songwriter of my generation. I appreciate this record and the admire him for changing a lot about how he makes music, but the songs as a whole just don’t hold up to other, what I consider, great NG records (Oasis included). The different sounds, arrangements and recording techniques are interesting, but with the exception of Holy Mountain, Taught Me How To Fly and Dead in the Water I just don’t think the actual written songs underneath all the production hold up to what I consider great NG songs. Just my 2 cents though

i'm such a fan-it sucks to say this, but i REALLY dislike how the album sounds. the production - to my ears - sounds really rough and lousy. the songs aren't really there, either. the debut album was SO good.

Not big Oasis fan - I like maybe a handful of songs or so - but I love listening to Noel Gallagher talk about things. And what I've heard from this album is GREAT!

I don't think this is Noel's best album IMHO. Producer David Holmes pushed him too far in a different direction. It doesn't work for me.

Glad to see him going out of his comfort zone. longtime fans should love see him going new places, especially since he was always experimenting outside the stuff he was doing with oasis. Love the new album!

I pray for an album of 10 songs like Dead In The Water. Just an acoustic guitar, piano and some backing vocals, recorded live in the studio, then performed live like those intimate Oasis gigs he did with Gem & Chris.

I commented three months ago that I didn't like _Who Built the Moon?_ at all. Now I'm going to say that I LOVE it. I think it's maybe the best High Flying Birds album, and some of the most interesting sounds he's EVER put to record. It's going to build on people-it's gonna be Noel Gallagher's most famous solo album FOR SURE. You'll see. A couple years from now, it'll be a classic.

Noel needs to get back on the helter skelter. This album has been lead by someone else far too much. Nothing raw, not saying go back to Oasis styles but do go back to composing your own, not compensating someone else’s. Love a couple of tracks, and happened to sit out on the porch tonight smoking while giving the album a full listen, Wednesday part 1 started, listened, then skipped to man who built moon - there was a bit of a Pink Floyd feel to that while staring at the moon….

Nothing great about this album. Never thought I would see a direct lift from "come together" from lennon, which is what noel had done on one of the tracks. Not one of the tracks makes me want to listen to it twice.

Got better publicity for the homeless and provided access to mental health therapy through the correct channels for those in need through the mental health charities. Got Diabetes UK into Tesco and helped raise 10.5 million in their first year with the second charity The British Heart Foundation. Ran two marathons and over 50 races. Became the Novice Ladies Recurve Archery Champion in the South West of England. Passed Ones degree. Changed medical history. Organised two charity races successfully. Introduced new privacy laws to keep everyone safe and opened up new communication channels between businesses. Changed the recycling across the globe to help slow down the carbon emissions that are killing our planet on Ones days off from work where One worked in an acute hospital for over 25 hours each week. It is only going to get hotter! Identified and tried to stop the bombings and killing of people and helped raise awareness of the atrocities across the globe which achieve absolutely nothing but causes chaos and still changes nothing because until you stop fighting nothing will ever change! I have done lots of different things over the years. But you told One that morning One was beautiful and your brother rang One up and told One that One was beautiful and he loved me too and our dead babies were worth all the effort, so nothing compares to being told that One was loved. You told me that you loved me and I was beautiful as well and that is the best medal or goal or prize in the entire world! Nothing compares to that. I love you so much. Thank you so very much XxX.

I love the new album and I've been a die-hard Oasis fan since 1994. The songs are great, the unorthodox arrangements and the album's overall production are amazing. It's crazy, people who claim they love John Lennon, blame Noel for making a trippy psychedelic record like "Who Built The Moon?".

Didn't David Icke write a book called Who Built the Moon? I listened to a presentation where he gets deep into the artificial moon theory. There a lot of legit paradoxes, and it's not all pie in the sky nonsense.

I honestly can't name one Oasis/Solo album I like (my taste) but Noel is a much more interesting/warm/funny person than I expected
