I really enjoy listening to Mr Grayson. I love to hear the wisdom that is passed down to each generation. This is rhe way to keep the craft from dying out.

My husband watches this man religiously, he's got some Cherokee, and Lakota in his heritage. He says when Noel speaks, his mind listens and this man is a national as well as a cultural treasure.

I mean this man with all this wisdom and knowledge and true understanding of life and nature.. the way things should be not the way they are..

I don't know where it came from, and my grandfather died when I was young, so I never learned, but when he killed an animal, he always said, "My brother, I am sorry that you die." It stuck with me.

Wow, to have only have had a parent like this. Teaching all of these things... I could only dream. It's sad to hear that his children don't really show a true interest in all of this. I'd be soaking all of this information up like a sponge! Noel Grayson, Thank you for all of your teachings in this heritage center. It's a wonderful thing. Blessings to you.

Hello mr Grayson .. I just discovered your channel. And enjoy it very much , I seen you on craftsman’s legacy , which I enjoy and thourally loved that episode. When I was a child about 7 or8 I found an arrow head on my grand parents farm in me costa mi , I’m an old man now I would like to put it back to an arrow . I’m torn because I worry I’m not worthy to give the craftspeson respect of my lack of skills . I show my youngsters the arrow head and another one I received when my grandmother passed and ask them to think of the person who made these . Where they young teenage kids , someone’s grandparent or maybe a worrier? Or are they a few hundred years old or a few thousand years old? Ian an artist and an author, you sir have inspired me to pay omage to the person who napped these arrow heads .I wrote a story that includes how I found the arrow heads as a youngster , I would love to send you a copy . If interested please send me an address .... thank you very much

It's funny to me how people nowadays are "discovering" the many benefits of mushrooms when the natives knew about it long before European contact.

Fantastic posts. Thanks for sharing so much. I very much Indian cultures, especially before the Europeans started diluting their life style. The Clovis people were very intelligent and to survive when you were not on top of the food chain and had no agriculture proves people are not any smarter and do not work together as the prehistoric Indians did.

As a yungin I was taught to give thanks over every animal I took for sustenance whether it be to God or the Creator whatever okay I like his philosophy the Indian way was a good way a great way I would like to think that I have passed on some of these ways to the young people in my world so that one day they can bring me a nice juicy venison steak when I'm old.

As a kid in the 40s, I grew up in the woods.... My Dad was of Cherokee. Choctaw and my Mom was Cherokee. Shawnee... Distant, but they knew how to live off the land.... I had my DNA done and Indigenous DNA showed up very little, but does show up in my children.... We are also of Hebrew linage, again m,y DNA showed very little but three times as much in my children... I find that to be strange.... Anyways, my Dad when he was hunting would sometimes just sit still and make calls, and certain animals or birds would come to him close enough for him to shoot them.... I never learned to do that but with only one type of bird....the Bob White.... I could make the ]female call and the males would come to me... I never killed one though... He could also take honey from wild bees without getting stung, but I would get stung just by standing by watching him.... If he found an injured animal or bird he would catch them return them to health and let them go even if they were edible,,,, Many times I would see him catch squirrels and remove the bot worms from them and let them go.... That would really make them very happy.... I wish I had been more like my Dad.... My family pronounced the name Shawnee much different they said 'Sha hawn nee'....phonetically...
