Finland does have many hidden gems, but they're hidden because Finland's metal scene is over-bloated with a lot of generic as fuck melodic Death Metal, Folk Metal and Power Metal
i will never know how and when this thing ended up on my computer but i'm happy that it did, because this is pure fucking gold. rarely black metal bands can even mimic the level of atmosphere this song has in it.
HELL YEAH. This is black metal done right. Very well-composed, no generic BS and the production is perfect- no overproduced, overly commercial drek here, but it also doesn't fall into the same pit too many black metal bands do where it sounds like someone recorded it on a cassette deck in a basement. So glad to have stumbled upon this band....talk about a happy accident! How tf I got here from '80's synthwave is beyond me, though.
The music is great (both, instrumental and vocal part). I also like their corpsepaints and how they look at all. They are looking like ancient druids rose from dead. And that's awesome! I like it! :)
Before this year I thought Black Metal was all the same bands, but with Noenum I discovered that it wasn´t that way!!! Actually I like a couple of Black Metal bands, this song in particular is my favorite from Noenum!!!
Venom was part of the first wave of black metal, like Mercyful Fate, Hellhammer / Celtic Frost, Bathory, Sodom, Slayer, Destruction, maybe Possessed and Sepultura, although both of these sounding death metal, black / thrash metal. Sarcophagus was part of the second wave of black metal, creating a style peculiar to brutal black / death or war black / death metal, characteristic that would see then in bands like Blasphemy, Beherit, Abhorer...
That riff right there has many emotions. Rage, pain, agony, despair, yet has a sense of dark beauty in it. It’s what makes this one of the best black metal songs out there
