This movie is well worth watching for the performance by Laird Cregar as the obsessed villainous police detective. A terrific actor who died too young.
This is definitely one of the best whodunnit Noir ever. My only complaint about it is, the comedy. There are times when the movie feels like a romcom instead of Noir and it feels out of place. Other than that, it's highly recommend.
