Just discovered the site. Cool. I've always been curious to know if my favorite film from the era, "The Asphalt Jungle" (1950), is considered to be 'noir'? I've always considered it so but never see it mentioned when the subject comes up.

Love Eddie and his enthusiasm for noir. And love his appreciation here of Robert Aldrich. That was not always apparent when he introduced Kiss Me Deadly (BTW also in 1955) on his show, saying "And now here is Mickey Spillane's Kiss Me Deadly" That was most assuredly not Mickey Spillane's Kiss Me Deadly--it was Robert Aldrich's Kiss Me Deadly. Spillane HATED the film.
