Noir Alley: The Window (1949) intro by Eddie Muller shown on Nov 12, 2017 From TCM's Noir Alley (Saturdays at Midnight ET and Sunday 10am ET) hosted by the Czar of Noir, Eddie Muller.
Yes, a great movie. I've seen it on TV a few times. Funny, I've always considered films shot on location in New York City in the late 1940's and in the 1950's to be in the "black & white" era of New York......lol.... I always loved Barbara Hale and Paul Stewart. Both great character actors. I loved Hale as Della Street in Perry Mason and her roll in the second Al Jolson film. Too bad the RU-vid thieves won't let us watch "The Window", from 1949. I was only four years old in 1949. I'm almost 80 years old now, I remember those 1940's and 1950's days so well.
i just recent saw this film.. it was nearly a masterpiece, except the ending was just tragicly aweful... it was too quick to wrap things up..after all that drama that just happened.. ! i think best would have been to have the father and police guy catch the couple with boy and them have to try explain that..even thought the final chase scene was good.. i just didnt like it that the bot ended up trapped and the lady didnt have any closure as to what happened to her !
