Smoke Dawg first made waves when he and MO-G dropped the viral hit “Still” in 2015. Since then the Canadian rapper has recorded with grime heavyweight Skepta, performed on Drake’s Boy Meets World tour, and dropped multiple hits with coveted producer Murda Beatz. In this behind the scenes documentary, Noisey caught up Smoke Dawg in Toronto.

I got chills watching this video. He was such a good person, destined for greatness. May god forgive him for all his sins and let him rest peacefully. Please stop all the violence, it's pointless. The person who killed him goes to my school and he seemed like a nice guy, talking to all the 9th graders and shit. I never expected him to be a part of a double homi shooting for no reason at all.I'm not sure if Wass Gang and Halal Gang had beef, and if they didn't it certainly wasn't public. It’s 2022 and I was banging some hits of his on my way home from work. Don’t live that life but the music gets me ready to spar and train.
