Bought a Noisy Clan decoder about 2 weeks before Christmas. Have played guitar (by ear) since 1970...but as you said, the decoder helped me realize accompanying chords I had never imagined. To make matters worse (or better for me) about 14yrs ago I started using a Shubb partial capo (providing that "E" or "A") yielding soloing ease along with chording melody. That's acoustics, but play leads and patterns that have become second nature on my electrics. Music theory more or less escaped me over the years...I am more right brained, divergent thinking and have not had the patience to work thru theory. I've played in bands, and turning 70yrs of age this year still performing bandshells, bistros. But, excited to see your video. The Decoder sits right by my guitars now. Having been a songwriter it opened many new possibilities. Just ordered the cheat sheets that should come in about a week. Thanks!

That is fantastic. What a journey. I’ve always wanted to give those Shubbs a try. I’ll have to nab one to give a go. Sounds like we think alike. Theory was such a struggle for me as it felt like being trapped in a complicated mess. But the decoder (and the triad chart) changed that feeling into more of an excitement.

I just bought this.... but I find two things confusing... what are the numbers in the circles ? for example on the Pentatonic scale, it has a starting point in black, then the number 6 right across from it two frets over... shoiudn't that be the number 2? as in the second note you play? Also, what is the significance of the colors.. they really need to make a "how to" video for this thing.
