If you check the comments section for a bit more info, I forgot to address something in the video! 33 Orbs can be acquired from NG+1 and up. You do NOT have to get to ng+7 before going for the 33 orb ending. During that second toxic gold part of the video, I *should* have said "...12 or more orbs, except 33, before ng+7..." as getting 33 orbs, no matter what, will trigger the good ending. It's not possible before NG+ because the orb beneath the lava lake is not there in parallel worlds until then (since there is no lava lake.) Sorry for any confusion! You acquire 11 orbs in the main world, 11 orbs in the east parallel world and 11 orbs in the west parallel world from NG+ on. Anyway, thanks guys. Have a great day!
33 are impossible in NG because of how the unique pixel scenes like the tree and lava lake do not appear in the parallel worlds in NG. So the orb (nuke) that is beneath the lava lake in the normal world is not present in the parallel worlds. In NG+ it starts appearing, so 33 is only possible there and onwards.
I think by the time you've gathered 33 orbs and killed a trillion-HP spider the gods are just scared shitless and will agree to whatever terms the noita wants.
I beat the game once. Invis perk the first mountain, freezing field the next. From there I just played ot safe. Picked up am acid wand and killed the boss. Still difficult. One win, two hundred and fifty deaths.
Yeah, I thought simply bringing the gear to the sky pedestal gets you NG+. Imagine my surprise and disappointment. It was the furthest I've gotten in the game too.
I just beat it, thanks to a couple of your videos. Finally learned not to rush too much near the end, and had a proper weapon to defend myself. Kolmi at 1211 HP wasn't too hard, but I doubt I would've been able to take him down after a few orb buffs. I knew there were other areas I had yet to explore, but jeez that's a lot! Wow. Think I'll watch a full run just to see all the biomes, or play it myself WITH MODS so I don't tear my hair out in anguish.
Also take note these endings can only be achieved without mods, i'm not sure if the game have particular mods that they deem as cheating or any modding at all will trigger it. But modded runs will only ever trigger the fool's gold ending, no matter how many orbs you collect.
i would throw a thought that the orb count could be related to kalevala and the poems(thought there is 50 of them), could also be the Kantele and the 38 strings. so many things it could be.
I regularly do looong runs, on stream or off, but I have to back up my saves, since I make videos and am always working on multiple videos at the same time that require new/fresh saves/different seeds. So, no, no app - but I do back up.
I just watched this after completing the work for the first time after exactly 333 deaths. I got the all gold ending and was confused when I died lol. This game is deathly hard though. Fyi the work sky is extremely annoying with the flying robots that throw spears at you. They were the only thing my explosive long range luminous drill machine gun was weak against...
The official discord where the devs and most of the experienced playerbase hang out is here: discord.com/invite/SZtrP2r . There's a channel dedicated to wand crafting there :)
I know it's been a while since this video came out, and I probably won't get a reply because of that, but I can't find an answer to this anywhere. surely, if you go and get orbs of corrupted knowledge in the parallel worlds to get the 33 orb ending, won't those orbs just kill you long before you make any progress? how do you avoid that damage? or does it just not exist in ng+?
It hasn't been long. I still reply to comments on videos from 6 years ago. Anyway, you NEED orbs of corrupted knowledge to get 33 orbs (11 in main world, 11 in east and 11 in west in NG+). You can pick up the orbs of corrupted knowledge without also picking up the *cursed heart* inside the orbs, as long as you are careful. It's the heart that causes the damage. You can also use ambrosia to tank all the damage without dying.
I love your vids :) I'm trying to get to 33 orbs. I'm already super powerful and in NG+ but I'm strugling to find the 2nd orb in hell right at the beginning of my quest :( Where can I find the map you showed at @5:34?
Congrats - here you go: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/626180507323072512/781179801993871440/noita_ng_plus_orb_spawns.png It'll be 11 orbs in main world, 11 in east and 11 in west, so only 1 in hell. The orb tower does naturally spawn in one of the NG+ loops (I think +++) but you don't need the orb tower to get this done anymore. So you'll just need all 11 outlined on the map in all 3 worlds.
Tried to get the 33 orb ending but the one thats supposed to spawn under the lava lake near the surface was replaced with a big square void on both the east and west worlds. FML.
Hi Fury! I just wonder, do you actually have to kill the boss on 33 orbs ending, or was it done for laughs? iirc you can just grap Sampo and dig/teleport/song-portal back and place it, or will it not work with boss still alive? Also, was this ending achieved at 13 orbs prior? I remember the number and getting the "peace" message, definitely didn't manage to stack 33 orbs.
You don't currently have to kill the boss. I mentioned that in the video and also said something like "I wouldn't ever dream of doing this without killing the boss." i.e. I did it for my own personal achievement, but you only need the orbs to trigger the ending.
Do the amount of orbs collected change what happens if you finish The Works? Do the emerald tablets do anything other than turn to gold on that mountain platform?
Yup. This whole video talks about the different things that happen with different orb amounts. The tablets can also be used as (nice) weapons and: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UJwjeOx77cY.html
If you complete the work down below, yes, that’s the only ending, since you’re taking the sampo for yourself. The other endings are all triggered up at the mountain altar, since that’s an altar to the gods and you are offering the sampo to them.
Ok, but where did he get all this information? I've being playing 155h+ and there is no information at all in the game itself. Those tales/tablets/books(or whatever) tell nothing. Unless someone ripped the game files apart, I doubt someone would be able to know all this. I was trying to appreciate the game without spoilers, and now I'm glad I gave up. THERE IS NO WAY SOMEONE FIGURE ALL THIS OUT BY HIMSELF!!!
There aren't 33 orbs of corrupted knowledge (obtainable). There are only 11 orbs in each world: main, east and west. Even though the parallel worlds extend infinitely (or until the engine/your computer can't handle it anymore) you can only ever obtain 11 orbs in the main world and then 2 more orbs for each one of those that you picked up in the main world - in any of the parallel worlds. So say you pick up the mountain altar corrupted orb in East 1, you can then pick up a corrupted mountain altar orb in East 2, but then you can no longer pick up any of that same orb. Make sense? So 33 orbs is the maximum, 22 of which are corrupted.
even if i have the perseverance and will to do any of the endings, i can't because my potato PC will turn into the stephenson 2-18 star when i even reach the snowy depths
Mine makes so since the very start I have permanent "bullet-time" I can dodge every single shot if they are far enough away/slow enough. STILL can't get past Hiisi base. Seriously, I tought the Hiisi base was the last phase until I watched one of Fury's videos completing the game.
There is no ending in hell. These are ALL of the endings - i.e. if you do any of these and then you end your run by dying, the credits roll and you get a victory added to your tally. Nothing else counts as an ending.
No, you used to be able to bring the Sampo to the moon and trigger the gold world, but that was a bug and was fixed in early access awhile ago. So nothing at the moon currently triggers any kind of ending (ending being: if you kill yourself afterwards, the credits will roll and count it as a victory. If you do any/all of the essence unlocks at the moon and then you die, you just game over.)
Yeah, you don't have to kill the boss at all for any of the endings. I'm not sure how I feel about that for at least the 33 orb ending. Sure it takes awhile to find all 33 orbs in NG+, but it's not THAT hard to kill the 33 orb boss, especially now with Spells To Power (a very powerful spell modifier we now have.) Anyway, enjoy. Have a good day!
I want to explain the importance of the 33 orb ending a bit. The true ending of Noita is bringing peace to the world. The Sampo in Finnish mythology was a symbol of wealth and prosperity, granting peace to those who held it. The Sampo is said to have had the ability to produce flour, salt, and gold out of thin air. In other words, it was essentially an infinite source of resources, allowing people to obtain whatever they wished for. When the Sampo was stolen, the kingdom fell into chaos. In other words, the world became imbalanced. In many parts of the game, the witch is presented with an opportunity to complete "The Work," but all but one of these "works" is false. The most notable "Work" is the work of the alchemists long gone, who wished to turn the entire world to gold. In the main ending, you are completing their "Work," but you are not truly saving the world. In the 33 True Orb ending, however, something curious happens. The Sampo is renamed "True Knowledge," and its description clearly refers to it as "the completed Work." When used at the Sky Altar, the Sampo magically "restores" the world, bringing happiness and prosperity back to all of the creatures of the mountain. And thus the world is balanced once more. This brings me to my conclusion: the story of Noita is a story of the forces of magic bringing peace back to a world where prosperity and joy has been lost. The forces of magic, nature, and technology are at war in the caverns, represented by the player witch, the cave creatures, the Hiisii, and the robotic entities in the Vault. At the bottom of the mines lies the mighty Three-Eyed, hoarding the Sampo that the alchemists so desperately wished to use to transform the world into gold- and with it, a portal to complete the alchemical Work. But that is not the Sampo's true purpose. With the gift of True Knowledge, the witch repairs the true Work, the Sampo itself, and brings peace and prosperity to the land once more. That is what the story of Noita is about: the ambassador of magic bringing balance to the forces of magic, technology, and nature by restoring the world with an artifact of prosperity and hope.
I don't think noita is the ambassador of magic. He can't cast spells without wands unlike mage-type enemies in game. Hishi also can cast spells only with acquired wands, they aren't connected with magic. Probably noita is one of the alchemist's creations case he looks like enemies in ancient laboratory.
i think noita isnt really a creature of magic, or at least not fully since the other mages you encounter are very deformed/transformed by the magic they practice at the start of the game at least the noita seems to be a natural human(?) unlike the other wizards, and though mostly using magic, she can also find "spells" that cast nukes or missiles, or summon monsters to fight for her so she isnt really an ambassador for magic as much as a combination of all three forces of nature, magic and technology in order to bring balance to the three factions once again
The story of Sampo ends with it being smashed to bits by the sea. Then it's shards get made into jewelry that brings good luck. I wonder if that necklace effects the RNG.
@@mangomoe7347 The hardest part about it, for me, is getting a good teleport wand, a good digging wand, edit wands everywhere, and 3 spells: add mana, Chainsaw or Reduce Recharge Time, Energy Orb, and a multicast-type spell, to make a machine gun wand. The spell Reduce Recharge Time is like a Chainsaw which uses a lot more mana and is more frequently found in the world (at least for me).
i only reached the third floor base without directly jump to the portals. i have 90 hours and still cant directly jump to the portals to see something else. idk what is going on with these people. talking about 33 orbs etc and i am not even idiot. i mean i have good job as programmer etc.(i am questioning every life choice i made because i am so bad at noita) This is a confession. thank you being like me. :(
Oh.... so that's what the orbs do. No wonder I can never beat the boss. I always got as many of them as I could because I thought they were nothing more than "free hp" then would stumble into a murder dozer of a boss. I just thought that was part of the game... because it's "Noita" and Noita is "hard." I thought it was all part of the "getting noita'd" trying to beat a boss that can one shot you.
@@bringurownvibe i mean fair, but for some people like myself, it just isnt rage inducing, i havent felt myself get mad at noita or my own mistakes once. yes, theres that initial feeling after dying where you feel slightly drained of all your hard work, but then you always come back for more and you learn how to play the game more efficiently. thats exactly what i love about noita, its how clueless you can be to the environment when its your first time playing, the game is difficult but you learn how to overcome most of your troubles by simply just playing the game and learning from your mistakes. noita is pretty much just a difficult trial and error video game with a huge feeling of success when you trigger an event or do something that may seem small to others as they have already done/tried it, but huge to you as you discovered it on your own. just generally an amazing work of art.
After completing the game with 11 orbs, everything turned into gold and I did not die. I wanted to die, but I was so indestructible, that not even The End of Everything could kill me. Luckily I found one thing that still could kill me; the plasma beams in the power plant, although they only do like 10 dps. This run was super interesting anyway, as I Fungal Shifted [Smoke] into [Weird Fungus], which caused eternal fires all around the world, as any fire made more fungus, which is flammable, which caused a self-repeating cycle. Super lucky that I got Fire Immunity quickly after the shift
"Go out and get one of these amulets for yourself" - The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and bruised. Anyway, thanks for these guides and showcases.
@@romaliop yeah kinda, the tale from grimm brothers "one eye, two eyes, and three eyes" is translated to yksisilmä, kaksisilmä ja kolmisilmä. Fits too either way.
I say this with respect and admiration: you guys are fucking crazy. I’ve been binging your and Albinos videos and it’s been a wild ride. Congrats on your dedication.
Finally! I achived the ultimate 33 orb ending and even made gods afraid of me! Thank you so much for such an informative guide, Fury, and thank you for the ng+ orb map, Letaali! Without it I'd never collected all the orbs and knew what to do! That was a great challenge!
Honestly, I have no idea how anyone is meant to legitimately get all 33 Orbs and beat the boss without some kind of external help or 0.0001% chance RNG. I was barely able to scale the tower the first time today via backing up my save so I could attempt it multiple times with a (rather powerful) wand. How anyone is able to do this kind of stuff in a single life baffles me.
It's basically what Denis said: *long* runs. You slowly make your way through the beginning of a run, acquiring all the things you need: consistent digging, travel wand, main attack wand, "backpack" wand to be used as a backup inventory for other spells - and perks. To help with this, you can go to the gold room to get enough gold to reroll perks. Go to the hourglass/eye room to find potentially powerful spells, visit the sky work or hell with a lot of gold to purchase other extremely powerful spells. When you're ready, visit parallel worlds to get even more HP, perks, spells, etc. You can defeat the Alchemist and do the key quests too, which will net you at least 1 powerful spell for "free." The Alchemist exists in *every* parallel world, and the music machines are in East 1 and West 1, so you can even repeat those if you want. Basically, you have to go everywhere and do everything that can make you more powerful. Then trigger NG+ when you are ready and dig, dig, dig!
For what it's worth, my 33 orb run took about 19 hours total over the course of over a week, and longer than that isn't uncommon. It's a big endeavor, and you become nearly unkillable by conventional, non-polymorph-related means long before getting all the orbs. It's a bit of a grind in the later stages, but I'm glad I did it. I *strongly* recommend you learn how to make an efficient travel wand and gather the resources you need to build it before setting out on NG+ though.
What they said but lets be honest, almost no one is going to leave their extremely long run up to bugs or chance. Im sure im not alone in having 'long' runs of a few hours get ruined by *insert instant death wand here* or a polymorphing enemy just randomly getting teleported next to you for a instant poly into death. People will make backups of their saves, the question is more about how much they will abuse it since it takes a very special kind of person to enjoy sinking days or weeks into a game only to lose it all and have to start over again.
wouldnt be surprised if a sub ganre of exceptionally brutal rouge like games where you gain nothing more than knowledge on the game through the completion of the runs emerged and was named noitalike
just had a bug with my first 33 orb run. Game crashed when i grabbed my 33rd orb, when I restored auto-save I only had 31 orbs and none of them respawned (I quadruple checked _--). Bruh this game literally aint shit -----------________________------------
It's all in there, written too. 1 - 4 orbs? Toxic gold. 5 - 10 orbs? NG+. 11 orbs? Gold ending (this is what you got, I'm assuming.) 12 - 32 orbs? Toxic gold. In order to get 33 orbs, you must be in NG+. Then you just get 11 orbs in the main world, 11 in East and 11 in West. I went through all the details in order to lay it out as clearly and precisely as possible.
Man... My ng+ map isn't similar at all. I went from top to bottom of the ocean and I only found the essence there. The orb room wasn't, but somehow the damn desert biome was. It's literally everywhere
The side biomes always have some randomization to them both n NG+. The orb room COULD potentially spawn inside the wall between the lake and the snow chasm.
Lore-wise, it's supposed to be all life/the entire world. They just didn't change the backgrounds in the game (I don't believe the engine has the capability of doing that - sure, the main programmer/engine creator could add that functionality, but we probably won't get that.)
Are nightmare mode endings any different? I finally beat Nightmare mode last night (no teleport and no invis). When I turned the world to gold, I went up with black holes quickly and I did not die. Then in the Magical Temple, some mobs were still alive. One was kind enough to one shot me on sight. P.S. I think homing+piercing are pretty much required to pass the Temple of the Art on nightmare mode.
Did you know you can survive the first ending? I accidentally got the gold ending with only 2 orbs by escaping the work room with a fast digging wand. so i dindnt die form midas. Most of the enemies died but bosses and the tower enemies were still alive. the altar over the mountain still worked bot i dont think i can get another sampo. I recorded that part of the run too. I dont think i can do much else on that save now , die from the alchemist or cursed rock.
Big thanks to the video and the map! I've played for around 100 hours now and finally got the 33 orb ending for my first ending, I refused to get any other ending except the TRUE ending for my first ending. Now I can finally just fuck about and just enjoy the game.
Is it a feature for the Three-Eyed boss to look like a pear when currently holding 33 orbs? I never have seen that one appear or atleast in my entire gameplay.
Good that this video exists I do not have the patience or skill to get every single orb then fight this dude when I die after finding 2 orbs to a shotgunner.
