Youre welcome! I appreciate that! I used an AT Pro for a while before I started using the Simplex+ in 2019 and I liked it so much more than the pro almost instantly and the more I learned it the more I liked it! The Legend is an absolute beast and I truly don't think you will feel the need to have a different machine. Use it mostly on base setting ,then slightly tweak to your soil, digging style and location! Good luck and Wicked happy hunting! 👊

@@wicked_digger This is the most useful thing anyone could share with new Legend owners. Little small adjustments at a time has proven to be the way to go. If you go to extremes on the settings or go notching stuff out you WILL be missing good targets.

@RobNC-OG thank you! I agree and have seen it happen many times! If it gets put of control, do a reset and start the settings over from default. The default settings are actually very well done!

Thanks so much! That is definitely a tough choice. They are definitely very similar. The Legend has some more adjustments that can be made and is being offered at some pretty good deals out there right now. I have been loving the triple score though too. I have been trying to switch every couple hunts with them, using the Legend for over 1.5 years now, I catch myself just wanting to use it because I know it so well. I used the simplex+ for over 3.5 years and still love that machine!

There is definitely a lot of machines out there to choose from right now, a machine for everyone! I have definitely heard that a lot for backlight keypad. Not sure why it wasn't done. Doesn't really bother me as I don't hunt at night often. As long as the screen lights up for me 😆 good luck and Wicked happy hunting 👊

Oh wow, that's awesome! I have had so much fun with the simplex. Not the best machine for wet beach but will do ok on dry sand. It's incredible in the dirt! The Legend is a beast and for the price of the triple score, it's incredible!

The control box itself is a different set up inside and out, leading me to believe whatever the engineers set up for internals, the Legend is more than likely tweaked some in the way that it is deeper and more accurate of ID and tones from an item in the ground. the Legend definitely has more adjustments as well as more of a variance for each adjustment. With that being said, the triple score is absolutely amazing. Being multi frequency, very easy to use (user friendly), waterproof, and the pro package comes with so much for 500 bucks! I would say there's nothing wrong with saving the different for a pinpointer, bag, shovel, gloves, all the extras you need. I love both machines and even the double score is impressive, but there is just something about the feel of the Legend and the way it hits over targets. Maybe I'm just comfy with it 🤣

Sorry to hear that. If you are a daily or even a weekly detectorists, the find X or find X pro, is not the machine for you. It's a strictly entry level machine. Extremely basic and made to be compared to Chinese models, and that is why it is very cheap. It's actually not a terrible machine. I can say that the ultra is much better and I have dug stuff at 15 inches with the Ultra. The shaft on the find X is not sturdy and the machine itself is not super deep not does it seperate targets super well. Can't expect high performance from a machine that is $150. I have used a ton of machines. There are a lot of great ones out there, I truly don't care for the build quality of minelab and have seen way too many issues with friends machines. So many that leak, not a single legend or simplex has had water intrusion issues, that's a fact too. Nokta is also a great company and stands by their product with confidence. I'll never forget when I was at a dig in New York and was with a very good friend of mine that uses a nox 800 and I was using my simplex + and I dug a prize token in the field and he had swung over it to hear it as we often compared signals before we dig. A few minutes later, he said, here's a good one, sounds just like the token you just dug. So I swung over it and said, it sounds like iron to me. That's odd, it sounds really good with his equinox. He dug up a chunk of iron! My $230 simplex didn't only outperform his $900 nox, but I went home with a ton of stuff (all Natura hunt relics and coins) and the 4 others that all had nox 800s went home with little to nothing. Obviously you have to get over stuff to find it. But that's something that will stick with me forever. He even bought a simplex after the hunt 😆

​@@wicked_diggerI was finding silver coins with a vanquish which the nox 800 guys missed. Only disadvantage was that it's not waterproof. Mine died. Upgraded to legend.

That would be interesting to see. I do love the way a DD coil works though. Definitely better separation with DD.

@jamesmoore9619 yes, somewhat. I love the 12mhz that the plus runs at. It's just real great for the machine and the type of relic hunting I like. The others run at 15khz, which is a great all around frequency too. You can also adjust recovery speed on the Ultra, which you can not on the simplex+. That's just a nice feature for trashy areas.

That is a great machine from what I understand. I haven't used one myself. I know a few people who have and still do! Fantastic machine and I think that the biggest differences from the newer score and Legend machines, would be weight wise and just modern technology.

@@wicked_digger It even have a vibrating handle. I have pulled some hammered with it. One thing that I miss is the option to change color on the screen and flashlight. Seems no detector have red light! I tape a red transparent plastic for night use. But it's time consuming to put it on and off.

I would like to do more in depth comparison with the machines, maybe 2 at a time or 3 at the most and show a bit more in the future. I have not had a squeaky shaft, but I have heard of others. Spray the shaft with a little silicone spray and that may help, I did that with my simplex+ a few years ago and it never did it again. I am a Nokta Nomad. I don't technically work for them and don't get paid. I do promote the company and their machines. I also attend events from time to time. Something I wanted since 2019 when I got a simplex and I worked very hard and contacted Dilek from Nokta many times about it 😆 Quarter Hoarder actually spoke to her and told her that I would make a great part of the team, so I am very thankful for that! The find X will be given away at a club event I am holding in November. I am the president if my local metal detecting club. The triple score is a very nice machine. Close to the Legend for sure, just not as many adjustments. Great package though with the pro pack! Wicked happy hunting!

I feel the overall build of the lite is better. As far as the shaft goes anyhow. The unit itself is very similar and overall depth similar also. The simplex has slightly better separation and it has blue tooth headphones. With the find X it is plug in headphones only. Some adjustment differences buy nothing too far off.

If I had to buy one, it would be the Legend right now. I absolutely love it, and while the triple score isn't too far off from the Legend having that package with the pointer is definitely great and a good savings there too. The tech that is in the Legend is still very up to date and with the new beast mode update, which I believe is the same as relic mode for the triple, it truly doesn't need anything else. I honestly believe that the Legend is one of the best machines out there right now and can not be beat with its price. One of my good digging friends uses a deus 2 and there has never been a thing his machine can hit, that the Legend can't. We go toe to toe with everything and some instances the Legend has been better! He actually recently sold his deus 2 and bought a Legend. It's almost double the price. I'm pretty sure both the triple and Legend will be better than the elite and the triple is probably comparable to the 700 or even the 900. The Legend will be better than both for sure

I would definitely say yes to that. I need headphones when I detect! I truly don't like detecting without them. You can hear so much more with them, especially deeper faint tones. The small coil that the pro pack comes with is also extremely great for trashy areas and/or a homesite. No doubt you will love it! There is so much history, lost items, and true treasures out there! It's so much fun!

@@glennshobbiesenzz Lack of backlit buttons is one of the biggest disappointments on the Legend. Mine also has a creaky shaft. Great otherwise. My son is using it now. I am quite happy with the Simplex Ultra.

@@formerhobbit5599 the ultra is great 👍🏻 bought one for my daughter and she likes it I do have the Garrett ace apex the double score and the triple score all 3 machines are great but the other 2/3 have more in them than the garret the only reason why I didn't go for the legend is because of lack in case of the backlit buttons if it had that I already bought it

@@glennshobbiesenzz I am thinking of adding the Triple Score to our arsenal. I would likely keep the small coil on the shaft. That should be even lighter than the Simplex Ultra. I didn't like the extra weight of the Legend.
