I must say after using the 6" coil it is definitely a nice coil to have in the arsenal. Especially if you like to hunt tight spots like tot lots and around park fences. Really gets in places and closer to objects than I thought it would. Now I definitely still want a 9x5 just because I think thats a perfect all around coil, but I am very glad I went with the pro pack. Now as far as the external battery I have not had a chance to use it in person yet, but I love how it fits under the arm cuff. Balances very well. You are definitely correct that you can use any power bank and power the legend so that's really all just a matter of preference. Honestly I rarely let the charge on my detector get that low so not sure how much use I'll get out of it. Mainly wanted the extra coil that's why I went with the pro pack. Planning on putting that 6" coil to work Thursday lol. That's for checking out the channel.

Yes sir so far I am definitely impressed. After the video I spent a little time going thru all the settings. A lot to go thru, but surprisingly easy to navigate and set up. Can't wait to take it out and get dirty.

Yeah I wouldn't put to much stock in Calabash he had been bashing the legend on Facebook before it even came out lol. Well that's the story anyway. We shall see real soon how the Legend reacts to our Texas beaches. I was going to go Thursday but with the wind switch from the south Thursday I think I'll wait till next week. I like to hit Surfide and Crystal and there's not much beach when the wind is coming from the south. I'll probably head down there next week. This week I plan on doing some vdi tests and hit a park just to get comfortable with the machine and test it out a little bit.

You know I will brother. I have some stuff planned for this week a vdi test and a park hunt. Probably just bring the Legend out on this one. Got to get used to the machine before I can really do any head to heads to be fair. Gonna be a lot of fun.

Yeah I realized that after I took the control box cover lol. The legend so far has really impressed me. After the video I looked at the manual and went through all the settings. For as much control you have it is actually still pretty user friendly.

Yes you are correct it doesn't screw all the way in. It is basically just a dust cap. You won't have to worry about water getting in or anything because the unit is sealed internally.

The flashing light means its still charging. They say the first time you charge it, it can take a long time. I think it took close to 6 hours for mine to charge the first time

@@TheTexanDetector ok, sounds good. I was a bit confused, all my other batteries flash red only, then green up when full. I'll assume when it's done flashing red and green it'll just stay solid green when charged. Thank you!

The extra battery is just for when the internal battery has been drained. Gives you more time to detect. Honestly I haven't detected more than about 6 hours in one hunt yet so I haven't needed it yet. Its just nice to have.

That is the extra battery. It slides out the case if you turn the clip at the end.

The detector itself has an internal battery. The external battery is the extra. Comes in pretty handy. I was detecting at the beach once and i did not charge the detector first. It was my third hunt so of course about 3 or 4 hours in my detector died lol. Hook up the battery pack and I was good to go. Funny thing I didn't disconnect the battery when I was done and by the time I drove home the detector was about 3 quarter charged.

Same here, I keep saying this is the last 4 pack of pods I'll order a caliburn o.g. or something and a couple bottles of juice, save me hundreds! lol I took up jogging recently, I think its better than smoking too

I definitely see where you are coming from. I've seen videos where it did perform poorly on the beach and I've seen some where it performed quite well. Honestly I think that comes down to the learning curve of a new machine. Hey we'll find out soon I'm taking it to the beach either this Thursday or next. Unfortunately probably next because I think a strong gulf front is coming in this Thursday. That means there won't be much beach lol.

@@TheTexanDetector its not a learning curve when ya cant silence the machine in salt without drastically reducing the depth ..and it stands there at this point ..nox was bettr on the bea h before the very 1st post relaese update

@@chancewilkins3320 now I believe you can tune in the detector and not lose depth. Its all in understanding your machine. Every beach is going to have a different level of salinity, different level of mineralisation, and other factors you may have to adjust for. The legend has a stabilization feature that can help with that. It will not effect depth, but could effect the tiny foil type targets. Those could be good targets like maybe a broken gold earring. You also have other settings that can help without having to boost the stabilization to where it will affect those targets. Good thing about a beach is there are not normally a lot of targets as in a park or a homesite. This would be a good place to drop down your recovery speed which will give you more depth. The three settings to really tune in beach hunting seems to be the stabilization, recovery speed, and sensitivity. The preset is just that. A generic setting that is basic and will work in basic situations. The preset may work great on some beaches and struggle in others. A little fine tuning often needed in different situations. This is what I meant by learning curve. As detectorist like myself try different settings and find what works best out in the field don't be surprised if Nokta has updates that will reflect that. The equinox has had several updates to get where it is today. The simplex has had a few updates to get it to its maximum potential. I'm sure the legend will be no different.

I actually have one I was just too excited to go back in the house to get it 😂.
