About that Noland story. Nami was reading it to Zoro in the live action.

Without getting into spoilers it's absolutely insane how much is set up in Jaya. Things that will pay off in next arc, things that pay off in a 100 episodes, things that will pay off in 200 to 300 episodes, that won't pay off for another 500 or 600 hundred episodes, things that are only paying off now a 1000 episodes later.

Jaya is one of those "mini" arcs in One Piece that are rather short but a very rich in lore, both from the past as well as current things beyond the StrawHats. And these arcs get better and better giving us mysteries and food-for-thought for arcs and years to come - always a pleasure to revisit

That thing on his head is part of his character design. Mont Blanc is a dessert made of chestnut purée, and what's on top of his head and on his ancestor's head is a chestnut. There are a lot of characters with weird designs like that. They have no significance beyond aligning with the name, but that does appear to be part of his anatomy.

Cricket probably realized that Usopp was accusing him out of fear, and not malice. Because I can't imagine he would take being called a liar lightly after hearing that all of his life.
