Rob Wright of Canadian band NoMeansNo interviewed by John Robb plus live recording of 'Victory' at The Boston Arms, London. From late night ITV show Transmission in 1990.
Us Islanders were sure lucky to have these guys putting on shows for us. Seen them more times than I can count. You always know it's going to be a good show with NoMeansNo. Seen them so many times Rob would point at me lol
Heard Nomeansno for the first time when I was 16. I was immediately impressed with how cerebral and humorous they were (unlike most of the punks I knew). Been one of my favorite bands ever since. Great interview.
Die ehrlichste und beste Live Band ihrer Zeit. Es war mir eine Ehre sie so oft Live gesehen zu haben. Thanks NOMEANSNO you as Band make my life 1000 times Happyer.
Everything he said rings so true decades later. If I believed in the Supernatural, I would say there was something about that, that makes him and his brother the hands down, greatest bass player and drummer on Earth. I know this, I have played those instruments for years, nobody else is that good.
Wow! Really good interview. I never knew John Robb interviewed for Transmission. I knew Pat Fish (The Jazz Butcher) did, in fact I've been searching for his old interviews since he sadly died, I don't suppose you have any of his not yet uploaded?
NoMeansNo is a very masculine punk band, but I understand the way they blend in a feminine mysticism. That's the beauty of good punk rock. It's so balanced
