Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a review of the Nomos Club. This watch is a great representation of the German Bauhaus style. Feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and thanks for tuning in!
This is a great watch. Perfect size, even on a larger (8-1/4 inch) writst. I got mine with the sapphire back, so I could appreciate the beautiful Nomos in-house Alpha movement. Keeps great time. I treated myself to about a dozen straps - leather, rubber and fabric - and it looks good on all of them.
I really like the classic Club a lot. I couldn't decide between the Nomos Club and the Stowa Marine for ages. Last month I finally went for the Stowa because I had the opportunity to purchase it from Stowa with a big discount during their Christmas sale. I live 13 kilometers away from the HQ of Stowa and my grandfather served in the navy. So I guess those were the points for Stowa. What I really like about the Nomos Club are the 100 m WR, the classic style (small seconds hand, the handwinding and the fact that there are no date and no lume) but at the same time the fresh design with the orange accents. There are simply too many beautiful watches for too few hands. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for the presentation. Best regards from the Black Forest.
Hi, thanks for tuning in! I think you made a great choice with the Stowa. I myself own the Stowa Marine Roman with manual wind movement. I have a video of that watch on my channel as well. The Nomos definitely nails the aesthetic of what an all-purpose watch should look like, all the way down to its water resistance. There is almost no situation that the Nomos Club can't handle. Appreciate your comment and feedback, take care!
Great review and photography of a very underrated watch, and it wouldn't surprise me if I end up with one of these at some point in the future. I saw one in a shop window in Manchester a couple of years back and it changed my opinion on the piece. It's definitely one of those watches that looks better in the flesh, and this video does a very good job of capturing that. Because of cost, I'd probably go with the steel case back and then purchase the sapphire one further down the line.
Thank you so much. It's funny you've mentioned purchasing the sapphire case back at a later time, I have contemplated doing that myself. the amount they were charging extra for the display case back was a little bit ridiculous. I absolutely love this watch though, I wear it at least once a week if not more. Thanks again for tuning in!
Great watch...have it in my collection for a couple of years...36 mm is a good choice for such classic watch...dont like the original reddish strap thou and replaced it with aftermarket options.
Awesome. If you don't mind me asking, which after market strap option did you go with? I love the strap, but it is a little small, and I have contemplated replacing it with a larger strap, maybe a Fluco Shell Cordovan.
@@chriswatchreviews4752 latest one I use is a dark grey rugged strap from Bulang and Sons...have used also a lighter brown Cordovan strap by German maker Rios1931...since Nomos doesn't make their straps themselves, I really believe that either Fluco or Rios1931 makes them for them.
I asked them last week about the availability... it'll be discontinued in the near future and they'll just do some small batches until they run out of parts... i ordered one for me. Time will tell, when i'll finally get it. Any batch could be their last...
Yea, I really liked the Ludwig as well, however for me personally, the Club was a more general purpose watch that could fit into a variety of situations, especially since now I put it on a Mesh Bracelet. It looks killer!
Hi, thanks for tuning in! I don't actually own a timegrapher, but anecdotally speaking, in my experience with it, it tends to gain around 5 seconds a day, so not too bad. I bought the watch used, and I don't know what year it was from or it's service history, so overall I really can't complain
I just got one a week ago (with the display case back) and Nomos claims that they regulate it to COSC standards by testing the movement in 6 positions. I used a phone app to get a good approximation of its accuracy and it's between -1 and +2 a day depending on the position I measure it in, well within Swiss chronometer standards.
Wow. That's pretty expensive. There are some new models on Jomashop that are cheaper than that. I think you can get a Ludwig or Tangente for around 14-1500. Check there or Amazon. Thanks for tuning in!
