The Tangente launched as one part of a quartet of watches designed by Susanne Günther in 1992, marking the beginnings of NOMOS Glashütte. Throughout the years, the Tangente has likely become the most recognisable NOMOS model, achieving that with the minimum amount of overt design possible. It has shifted in size and colour options, adopted numerous movements, yet its essence has remained unchanged. This is no different in its newest iteration, the NOMOS Tangente Blaugold (blue gold), featuring a gold-plated blue dial and two sizes, both fitted with the well-regarded neomatik in-house calibre.

Nomos perfected the combination of beauty in terms of simplicity elegance and affordability of high quality wrist presence.The blue dial is nevertheless a masterpiece of artwork.

I know you know a lot about watches but I was under the impression you should always go forward to set the time and not backwards. Something about it not good for the gears. Of course that could all be a bunch of hogwash, but why take a chance?

I think they mentioned in a blog post designing the movement around that problem. So yeah you can go both ways.

Elegant watches, equally elegant video. Lovely thank you. For me I’m just not sure about the lugs. They seem disproportionately long. If they were shorter say like the wire lugs they have in other models that would make this package tighter and tidier, for me The blue dial is wonderful. Beautiful, simple, German Bauhaus at its best

Indeed, they do seem to hang out there visually. But somehow it works on the wrist. But i agree to look at you automatically think . Huh? But hot dam. Great build quality.

Stunning intro an beautiful presentation! Really love the combination of simplicity, elegance and sportiness of most of the Nomos models. I owned two of the in the past, my current one is a Club Campus neomatik with a OEM steel bracelet in 37mm with a 200m (!) water resistance. Such a perfect daily watch! Suits pretty much every occasion. Thanks for showing!

@@marcusflack1523 I absolutely agree! I think the best time to buy a Nomos is NOW. You can clearly see that they're aiming at a higher price point now especially since they've released their neomatik calibres. Of course the development and everything does cost quite a lot but the first neomatik powered Nomos watches could be had for under 2k Euro and now their most affordable ones are between 2.5k and 3k Euro here in Germany. I think it's still a great price regarding the true Inhouse movements compared to e.g. a Tudor Black Bay 36 which is a great and well built watch as well but only houses a basic ETA movement for about the same retail price as an entry level neomatik model from Nomos.

@@SinnerAndSaint I gotta say Daniel I think your right. I remember when Nomos came in swinging with such competitive prices but now many people are getting the picture those prices are climbing. Might be time to pull the trigger myself soon.

Well, not only their design, but also their mindset is rather modern. However, if you root for "pre-1945 Germany", the brand might not be a good choice for you. Pretty sure they target more open minded customers anyway...
