At place I work we do Bombay Colada which is basically non alcoholic version of Pinacolada but sweet. Also Punjabi punch which is a mix of orange, pineapple, passionfruit, mango, lychee juices with addition of passionfruit puree .
My favourite mocktail is one I made at a bartender job I used to have. It's elderflower syrup with pear juice, fresh mint leaves and sparkling water. It's really refreshing! Thanks for the inspiration you give with all your videos :)
I honestly don't know if it has a name. However, elderflower Sirup is quit common in Europe, in the US you may have to check amazon and co ? For the pear juice, I recommend buying pears in a tin/can and just purée it (or fresh pears with some tap water). :)
This episode was really great because most of these ingredients are fairly accessible. I don't try a lot of mocktail recipies because they often call for "a grating of a unicorns horn" and some "smashed enchanted beans"
Very good point. They think that the absence of alcohol means you have to boost the other stuff. And as is shown here, that's just not the case, is it?
Unicorn's horn has been stuck on container ships and so is in short supply. Enchanted beans come from Mexico and are easier to get. 😂😂 ( I realize some ingredients are either nearly impossible to obtain or insanely expensive.)
As someone who doesn't drink, I really appreciate this. It really sucks when you go somewhere and you're the only one who has to get, like, water or lemonade while your friends are all having fun drinks
Well... what’s so fun about them? Since you don’t drink, you probably don’t like the taste. Is it just the colors or something? Well, lemonade also has enough of that. And water is just really good anyways. So.. huh?
@@Kayta-Linda Uh, my dude, some people can’t drink alcohol for reasons other than just not liking the taste…like for religious reasons, or because of addiction, or allergies, or maybe you’re the designated driver. Anyway, I second that water or lemonade is really boring when you’re out with friends. It’s super, super nice when you’re able to get a cool mocktail like this. 👍🏻
Thanks for making this!! My mom is allergic to alcohol and has been bugging me to learn some alcohol free ones since I’ve gotten into cocktail making:)
The Grey Fox sounded really good so after watching this video I just made some earl grey syrup and mixed it up. And it didn't disappoint! This would actually be a really nice summer drink.
Thanks for this! Even if you're not participating in dry January, it's always nice to have some fun options for people who choose not to consume alcohol. No reason a DD can't enjoy some of your mixology prowess.
This is great! I love making cocktails, but don’t like drinking them myself much because of the alcohol. I would definitely recommend the book “Good drinks” for more spirit-free cocktails!
I really appreciated this video. I always have recovering drinkers and pregnant women wanting mocktails at our establishment. One of my go to’s is an old fashioned with black tea, or an earl grey gimlet. Winter time is also a good time for an orange pekoe hot toddy. These are great to have in the Rolodex.
As a Canadian, let me recommend the virgin caesar: clamato (tomato juice with salt and a little clam juice if you can't find it), with little hits of tabasco, worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and lemon juice. Garnish with celery and rim with salt. Don't poke your eye out.
Thank you so much for this video. I have a Muslim friend who I think feels left out at get-togethers. I have tried mocktails before and other than virgin tiki drinks nothing worked for me. And him...he doesn't like sweet drinks. I hope now he won't have to lounge with malt juice anymore. Great video. Now I really need to get that red bitter soda. One Gunshop Fizz for me and The Devil's Day Off for my abstinent friend.
Dude this couldn’t have come at a better time as I’m currently in the throes of Dry January. That bitter red soda looks so good! And that tea syrup too. Fantastic video!
Another tip for anyone who really wants just an NA version of each of their favorite cocktails, you can buy small bottles of alcohol removed spirits, or spirit mimics. One of the most common is a gin mimic, I like to steep butterfly pea flowers in a gin mimic for an na empress gin feel.
Thank you for this! My husband and I love a good homemade cocktail, but I’m heading into this summer very preggo. So happy we’ll have something delicious that I can drink too!
I love that you used aquafaba in a drink...that is very cool! Using raw egg has always kind of grossed me out and I have people that are allergic to eggs in my group, so this works so well!
Have already tried out 2 of the 4 within a day of posting and we love them! I'd really love a video on how you create your own cocktail recipes, with tips on what flavors go well together. Thanks Anders and Az, the channel is a huge inspiration for home bartenders such as myself.
I just had my first mocktail that my cousin made for me and I loved it so much she gave me the recipe : -Mango Passion fruit juice -Blue Agave nectar -Lime/Lemon seltzer -slice of Lime/Lemon -Ice It is my favorite drink and when I got home I bought all of the ingredients and will never stop drinking them lol
Great video as always Anders! This will definitely help me get through dry january. I do not have any agave nectar at home, can you substitute it with honey? Cheers! 🥂
This is great! I grew up in a Muslim house hood where alcohol absolutely doesn’t exist and not in our nature. Booze is huge here in Kentucky but of course I’ve never found pleasure or desire for alcohol. I’ve decided to take a look into making mocktails especially to serve for my big Muslim family gatherings. It’s fun, a chance to be creative, and people love a fancy drink in their hand! Thank you! 😁
Lol I'm so glad you added the spawater bit at the end of your last video. I thought the same thing as you... something like, "that's like calling it hot tub water... Gross" .. I have also never been to a spa 😂😂😂 Probably one of your funniest videos yet IMO. Lindsay and I laughed HARD at the fox comment. Too good. Thanks for the entertainment, I'm definitely making the earl grey syrup soon. Cheers!
I always make a Sunrise or a Fruit Punch :) This is how I do it: Sunrise: Ice Orange juice Pineapple Juice Lemon juice and or Lime Juice Grenadine And a lemon slice on top Fruit Punch: Orange Juice Pineapple Juice Passion Fruit Juice Cherry nectar Lemon Juice SHAKE IT then into a glass with ice and I add grenadine and a lemon slice. Let me know how I could do it better any suggestions are welcome I like to try something out.

I think that they key to making your own mocktails is to improvise out of the ordinary flavour ideas to prevent it from just being juice. Keep the citrus lower than usual, increase bitter and spicy elements, utilize infusions to make unique syrups and bitters etc. (a couple dashes of bitters although alcholic, wont be a problem for those looking to dial back their alcholol consumption, except if its for religious or medical purposes).
The Devil’s Day Off is one of the best mocktail recipes I ever came across! I had no agave nectar so I substituted it with chestnut honey from the foothills of the Etna volcano and my teetotalling guests loved it!
Just found your Channel. I’ve been looking for some non alcoholic mixed drinks for summer and it’s crazy how hard they are to come by! Thank you so much for these. I will make all of them.
Great vid Anders. Quick question: I enjoy a lot of fernet drinks - do you know of a way to replace fernet in a mocktail? I've heard there's a recipe for a fernet replacement in the Aviary's mocktail book, but I don't have a copy (and I've heard their recipe is quite intensive).
Hmm - good question. I don't have a non-alcoholic fernet replacement, and haven't seen that recipe. I'll have to explore this more and see if there's something we can do. Appreciate the question, John! Wish I had the answer for you.
These are fantastic! My wife likes mixed drinks but dislikes the taste of alcohol. The Devil's Day Off would be a good choice but she is allergic to grapefruit - I'm thinking maybe using OJ or possibly not overly sweet lemonade - any thoughts? And Cinnamon-Agave syrup sounds amazing and I can think of a lot of things it could be used for outside the bar (drizzle on Creme Brulee French Toast would be awesome). Love your channel.
Anders!! I just came upon your channel a couple weeks ago and love your content, man! I have to say...I am so grateful for this video. My wife is halfway through her pregnancy and she is missing good cocktails something FIERCE! I saw this video and made her the Orgeat Basil Lemonade. GAME CHANGER! She LOVED it! It's gonna be our go-to mocktail thru the summer and beyond. Thanks a million Anders! Love your channel!
Hahaha this is great! I’m only 19, but recently I’ve just been getting into making mocktails for my friends and family! It’s hard to find good recipes, so thank you so much!
I’m not a big cocktail drinker, but I am a big tea drinker. When you are brewing tea, DO NOT squeeze the tea bag(s) or the tea leaves. This will extract way too much of the bitter and cloudy elements into your tea. If you want stronger tea, use more leaves or an extra tea bag. Don’t try to squeeze it out of the bags.
About 8 months ago i got some bad news about my liver ,so needless to say i live vicariously through your great channel. Been living pretty much on virgin Bloody Mary and Caesar recipes and these recipes will give me a nice change of pace. Thank you for that! Also , do you know any good mocktails that involve carrot juice or even any good alcohol cocktails for that matter. I can always make some for friends and family, which is another reason i watch your great channel.
Wow, great! These are some amazing ideas and inspirations! I'm not much of a drinker myself, and so I'm always looking for non-alcoholic drinks. Also, at the bar I'm asked if we can do something non-alcoholic too, and now I have a few more answers! I'll easily be able to do the Spa Water and the Basil Orgeat at our bar, and I'll definetly save the Grey Fox recipe for myself! That sounds like something I'd love to make myself for a movie night or having a friend over :3 Absolutely amazing, thank you for these great recipes!
I’m intrigued at the differences in “fizzy” waters... her in the UK you can get the following: Soda Water - carbonated water with sodium bicarbonate in. Mineral Water - mineral rich carbonated water. I keep hearing the term seltzer when referencing cocktails... which of the above is seltzer???
Seltzer is closer to soda water in that the carbonation is added later, but it doesn't have the added minerals that soda water does. Mineral water, on the other hand, has bubbles that come naturally from a spring or well, and is loaded with minerals. Though some mineral water has additional carbonation added before bottling - like Topo Chico. At least, that's my understanding of fizzy waters.
Here in the U.S., soda water, or seltzer, is just plain carbonated water (the terms are interchangeable to us). The carbonated water with sodium bicarbonate is what we call club soda but it may have additional ingredients, such as salt, potassium sulfate, potassium citrate, or sodium citrate. Use whatever you think tastes best! I prefer either seltzer or mineral water in my drinks.
love AZ!! Actually 'love yah both! Enjoyable..informative...Videos!! Anders... I'm Not a 'Spa Guy' Either....LOL! ..Never been.!.......Mock-Tails are GREAT!....Sometimes You just Don't Want Alcohol!...LOL!...Happy New Years...Looking Forward to your next vids! P.S...how's the Space 'Management' of all the Bottles at the 'New PLACE'?...LOL! ..Cheers You Canadian Bartender!
I just made a Grey Fox for my girlfriend and myself and we loved it! I'm not big on tonic usually, but this mocktail really changed my perception of it. Thank you!
I've been slowly evolving into a mixology nerd. Started mixing drinks for my family get togethers and enjoy watching everyone love something I created. Bought a mini fridge for the office and started doing Mocktails for people during the witching hour. The office favorites are the Grey Fox, The Placebo, and 1 I call the Creamsicle (orange and creamy). Thanks to you, the office looks forward to the witching hour and I make a few tips which goes back into the supplies. Now to convince HR to change the alcohol policy 😉
Spa water is water that comes from the ground. It is full of minerals and healing benefits. I live in Royal Leamington Spa in the UK. We were given the Royal decree by Queen Victoria who used to love to visit the town because of our Spa water. If you go to a German town with the preface "Bad" such as Bad Aibling. That is also a Spa town. Great video. Not sure about dry January. But some fun cocktails to try. Have a great weekend!
No....way too many exotic ingredients....try simplifying and making stuff nkrmal people have....not sweetened almond oil or whatever....cmon...you come off as a rich nerd who gets his butler to crush ice....who has crushed ice. Couldnt just use ordinary items huh?
I have a dad joke: do you know why mocktails are called mocktails? BECAUSE THEYRE MOCKING U FOR NOT BEING OLD ENOUGH TO DRINK ABHAAHHAAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHABABAHAHAHA
@Anders Erickson would you consider talking about/making a Ti` Punch? It is IME muddled lime, sugar (simple syrup if you’re not a beach bar), Rhum Agricole, and ice for the ladies. It is popular at beach bars in St Martin, where we vacationed 16 consecutive years until f*cking COVID. We should be there now. On the island the drink is served on ice for women or tourists, while “real men” sip it up. As an old white guy, I once had a bartender there take my order, then ask if I wanted it on the rocks. I glared at him and snarled, “why would I want ice?” He immediately apologized, I started laughing, and I bought him a Ti` Punch so we could share one. Cheers, man!
These are relatively easy drinks to make. Thank you for the video. My real dummy easy drink. Just an orange juice about 30, soda water 70, with some tea spoons of honey makes a real easy tangy and citrusy non alcoholic, almost, just almost beer like drink I found. Just almost beer like. Don't like beers, but they do go well with cigars.
I'm 17, and my sister is 21, obviously I don't drink but surprisingly my sister is "virgin" everything. No alcohol, no drugs, no everything basically. But they are an amazing person nonetheless. (Not that intoxication makes anyone better or worse) Anyway, we play DnD and I've been trying to find non alcoholic drinks for us to use for our games. Thanks to this video I now have 4 recipes to try! I'm very excited to see if my sister will like them. Thank you!
So what happened was…I fell in luv lol…this rocked! Ty….answered a questioned I had abt how to enjoy my adult drinks w/out getting intoxicated…..I liked and subscribed …
Ok .. this is crazy .. do we have the same Brain?!! I created a non alcohol cocktail in 2019 that has the exact same ingredients of the Devils day off minus the rosemary garnish, and we serve it @oculto477 in SD. Very far from were you are. Don’t know how this is possible…
The grey fox is such a revelation-I use the Earl Grey syrup in everything. Want an Earl Grey Marteani? Don't bother infusing your gin; swap the simple for e.g. syrup. Don't have aquafaba but you do strain your own yogurt? Shake it with half an ounce of whey!
10 oz water, 3 tbsp of Nesquick, 4 tbsp of lime juice, and three shakes of Cheyanne pepper. No name for it, but it is surprisingly good. Burns like a real drink, but no headache
Love the Devil's Day Off. Have made it for many folks, and it's unanimous. Wondering if you or anyone out there has cocktail ideas using Stappi Rabarbaro -- bitter rhubarb soda?
Shrubs! That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you. Once. Months ago. In the chat.. so I’m sure you don’t remember. 😂 Sorry to hear someone hated on your espresso machine.. maybe when you get to 500K subs you can invest in a new one. The Decent DE1+ would be a fun toy and fit nicely in a smallish space.
And if you're willing to splash some cash, you can buy non-alcoholic spirits from a company called lyres. They make spirits that taste very similar to the original but without alcohol. They do white and dark rum, London dry, tequila just to name a few. I've made several of their drinks and would highly recommend picking up a bottle or two. Thanks again mate, been loving your content recently :)
I am an adult that doesn't drink alcohol, for a number of reasons. My favorite drink is a Shirley Temple. Where I'm from that means Sprite (lemon lime soda) with grenadine. But I add mint and lime. Muddle the mint and lime together and add a couple tablespoons of grenadine. Then add a sprite. It's so good!! I also really like cranberry juice and sprite, or lemonade and sprite. I just really like sprite!
Doing a month without drinking and I have to say the hardest part is making mocktails that aren't just overly sweet or a fruit juice with a gimmick, so this helps. If I were to make a grey fox with lapsang souchong instead of Earl Grey, would that be a smoky fox or a Chinese fox?
So I'm 25 but I've never drank in my entire life. However I also look a good ten years younger than my age and I feel self conscious at bars and clubs because I'm not drinking alcohol and I worry that people are gonna think I'm a teenager. So I usually get a mocktail. Thanks for these recipes, I'm gonna have fun trying them.
These mocktails look great! Definitely going to try them out. Since I have an allergy for nuts/peanuts, is there anything you can recommend as substitute for the Orgeat in the Basil orgeat lemonade? Thanks!
I lived in San Diego for awhile and there were places of individual rooms with a jacuzzi or spa that you could rent by the hour. All that came to my mind was a building full of kettles of ass soup. :-)
This is me watching Anders for the first time but is it just me or it’s just that he looks and acts like a cool bartender Jacksepticeye 10 years from now? If he have Jack/Sean’s voice I swear I couldn’t tell the difference
One of my favorite non-alcoholic cocktails is a Shirley Temple with gin or vodka- that still counts right? I'm not good at this- the best I manage is a dry Mon-Fri for a month during leap years.
