Thanks for all the comments! This video has sort of gone kinda viral especially for my channel. I appreciate everyone explaining some things i got wrong. I have reacted to episode 1 and 2 so far. Episode 1 is out now ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A79uvFrE0G4.html but i am still editing 2. I have had to put a filter on the video so it doesn't get blocked which has happened :( Also if you have any specific videos you want me to react to related to one piece besides the episodes, which i am currently doing. Feel free to leave a comment below with the title of the video and who it's by. Links will automatically get marked as spam by RU-vid :( ALSO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE SUPPORT I REALLY APPRECIATE IT :) And i do find out its pronounced Luffy instead of the way i pronounced it like Fluffy without the F lol
we One Piece fans enjoy the show a whole hell of a lot, but of course you can never recreate that feeling the first time watching it. so we seek out others to watch them as they have their first experience, living vicariously through them as they witness a shonen that will change how shonen are made, as future mangaka will be inspired by this shonen, just as it's creator Oda and many others were inspired by Akira Toriyama's "Dragonball" works. RIP to Akira Toriyama as he had recently passed away
I was certain you would watch the series after seeing all the intros back to back. One Piece has truly been one of the most fulfilling pieces of fiction in my life.
You are not the only person who I have seen referring to the majority of the cast of characters as "villans" or "enimies." Many of the character designs are either intimidating or outlandish, so it's not a stretch for most non One Piece, not even only non anime fans, to jump to the conclusion they are enimies with only their designs to judge them off of.
The first song is definitely the One Piece fan rally/theme song... it not rare to find people from different countries (that don't speak each other language or even Japanese) at cons singing his song together. It really unites people!
If you think about it that kinda makes sense if you consider that most of the characters ARE pirates and to an outside perspective of someone who doesn't know them, they do look villainous.
@@Terralventhe Also, technically on some level they can be or become "enemies". Of course Shanks is his role model but he already stated that some day he might have to fight against him to achieve his goal. Though what we know about OP up to this point, many fights are more in a pure "who's better" setting. On the bottom line they certainly make more friends than enemies and who knows how it actually ends considering the revolutionary army, the world gov. and which "sides" there will be in the end. I'm currently on my (I think) third complete run through the anime. I'm currently at 757 (about the beginning of Zou)
@@Bunny99s I think that Oda will brain back the davy back challenge once the straw hat pirate fight Shank's crew. Why the hell would he have introduced us to that type of fight back then and never use it again ... ? My guess is that its coming back but on a way bigger scale in a yonko battle. Shanks could also turn out evil, we might know more once we get to elbaf, maybe some stuff's going on there that shank did in the past or something.
Crazy how many reactors don't even realize Luffy is stretchy until the 9TH OPENING, like how did they make 8 openings where they don't get across the main character's main power?
To be fair, a lot of cartoons and anime exaggerate movements and proportions of their characters so it wouldn't be too farfetched to think that was just a cartoonish exaggeration without any context about devil fruits or the power systems in One Piece. Plus people are generally making openings for current viewers of the show who already know about Luffy's abilities
I love how he’s almost pieced the story together, and that makes me smile. Yet every time he gets something wrong (sanji=sabo/ anyone who isn’t the crew is an enemy) makes me die with laughter
@@fictionforlife59 Suzumuya Haruhi, who is secretly a god who must be entertained for not to be sad, otherwise her mental state directly affects the balance of the world and may screw it up. So either she smiles or everyone dies.
the best part of one piece is that is, in fact, a happy wacky adventure series...that also has the most in-depth characters with the most brutal backstories you've ever heard in your life
I've been watching this series for so long now, and it was a big life changer. A masterpiece story that's being told for 25+ years. The feelings it produces in me are impossible to explain, but they sure can be shared. Thank you for making this video, you sure noticed through these songs that there's fun, anger, tears, joy, adventure, animation evolving through the years and an unforgettable journey behind all this. Not only your channel, this series will change your life! Hop aboard!
17:17 nope! it is the same opening and the same language, but the difference here is that the people who are singing in this version is the members of the straw-hat crew (aka the main characters). super sweet! this was probably made to celebrate reaching 500 episodes or something like that
the last one is definitely my favorite one piece intro. Of course We Are! literally is THE one piece intro, but the last one is so good mixed with some of the best animations ive ever seen in my life
As non anime fan dont be fooled by tone or visuals of openings. Almost every arc in this show gives you trauma or depression. Not a lot of people die in one piece. But when someone dies... you feel that weeks later.
Not a lot of present-day characters die. But the backstory deaths definitely rival the number of current living named characters and can hit you just as hard
Saying 'Some of them look very menacing' right after five elderly men (followed by a one-armed redhead and his crew) are on the screen unintentionally hits hard.
when i first started one piece 14 years back, hardly no one new about it and it wasn't popular at all. I only know because no one was making reactions and everyone I told who was my anime friend that it was my favorite anime replied with "Whats that ?" it's funny how now almost EVERYONE knows about it and its up there in charts
The show has a light-hearted note to it. However, the author can drive a knife into the heart like no other. I was suckered into it as a high schooler, and I'm still thinking about some of those moments.
One thing you can learn from One Piece is that folks that look like they're the good guys are usually aren't and those that looke like bad guys aren't always the bad guys. The ships chasing them are the Navy/Marine, supposed to be the good guys.
58:57 That was a special opening to celebrate the 1000 episode of the anime. As of right now (2024-09-06) there are 1117 episodes and 1125 manga chapters.
One Piece is definitely my fav anime. It's light hearted and funny on the surface but if you're going to watch the whole series then prepare yourself emotionally. For every new adventure there's some extremely traumatizing backstory/setting. It does a great job of balancing goofy characters and moments with very serious and often sad plots. This show has made me laugh out loud the most but it's also had me crying the hardest as well. Just brace yourself for jarringly depressing plot lines of tyrannical governments, classism, 'human' trafficking, racism, corruption, slavery, genocide, etc. I think it's got similar vibes to Avatar the Last Airbender in that it is mainly a fun journey to one specific goal but also handles the heavier and realistic dark themes in a relatively mature manner. Although One Piece definitely goes darker and more in depth with the injustices that all the characters live through or encounter. But at the end of the day it is a great show about the bonds of friendship/chosen family and pursuing freedom and dreams in an unjust world
And let’s not forget things that seem unimportant or mentioned in passing from Episodes ago, Becoming MAJORLY interesting plot twists/Information to set up future episodes!
Chopper's full name is actually Tony Tony Chopper. He's a reindeer, who ate the Human-Human Fruit. That's why he can change his form (plus he uses enhancements, so called Rumble balls)
9:48 "Very Light hearted" It has themes of, Grape (I'm not kidding, its more implied but still), torture, murder, extortion, government corruption, freedom, genocide, slavery, human trafficking, racism, loss, denial, and depression :) Yeah, and pretty much every arc dives into one of these topics to some degree using a backstory.
It's not really a spoiler, so I'll tell you: none of them have been friends since childhood lol you're confusing two different characters, they're both just blonde
@@Babbleplay The youngest one is Chopper, but even so he was still a teen, so no, they met when they were older teenagers, but no children like in the opening
@@BabbleplayNo. Zoro was. Zoro was 19 when he joined the crew. Luffy, Ussop and Chopper were the only ones on the crew who were under 18 before the timeskip
The Crazy Rainbow Star song you have has 2 random animated dudes hanging with the Straw Hats - they are the singers of the song given a 1 episode (300th) special guest appearance.
What I liked most about this opening was at the very end where you can see a shining light. its like its symbolizing that the end is finally in sight. After watching this show for almost 25 years, it hits really different.
same but i havent even started one piece a year ago(almost, i started end of june) and after reading the manga ive started the anime and on 235 and am excited for wano and wci, watching the current eps as well
its amazing how even just watching thru the openings this series tells so much of a story. i cant help be cry for all the water 7 openers cause that arch hit me so hard watching and reading it back in the day.
I never thought I will finish this one hour reaction but you did so good. Simple comments and I can see you being so interested in the anime. No crazy over reaction comments and you are so innocent. I love watching you bro. Keep it up
I think he actually thinks that what happens in the intro actually happens because at least where I'm at they barely have actual story clips in the intro
When I see people who don't undERSTAND THE PAIN OF MARINEFORD. I just wanna wrap em up in a big blanket and save them. You don't need to endure it. It's okay. Keep living in the light.
Anyhow, except for the battles, comedy, many characters, etc., this series's fundamental part is... THE FEELS!!! You will feel many many many different feelings, you will be put in tears every now and then, the author was so good that you will cry over a burning ship, this is very very good.
"It seems like the crew always stick by each other through thick and thin, it's nice" - said moments before Hope starts The irony's so thick you could cut it with a knife.
