Bio: Leonardo Torres was raised Catholic and left the church at age 18 after being threatened to be kicked out for asking questions about the bible. He identified as an Atheist for 12 years and spent that time actively arguing with street preachers, witnesses and anyone else who brought up religion. At age 30, he had a strong encounter with God that made him drop his Atheist title and he became a free follower of GOD which he calls, "The Great Spirit". Taking God seriously and following Him wherever He leads him, Leonardo started this RU-vid Channel reaction to music as a "Non-Christian" musician reviewing Christian music. The music and the stories began to learn more about Christ and considers himself a Student of Christ. Whether that means "Christian" or not is yet to be determined, but this channel is like a lost and found for lost sheep, Leonardo's goal is to create a safe space where God can find those who are yearning for Him. Leonardo wants to remind followers of Christ to love one another as they were commanded. The main theme of this channel is "Spread Love", and that's what we do, we take the love that God has given to us and we spread it to those who need it.

Hey! I'm from Costa Rica, my passion is music and worship. If I could go to a concert it would be Passion 2020 (which is not actually a concert but Hillsong and Elevation were there and it was a great worship time) and if that doesn't count, well, I would have loved to go to twenty one pilot's concert at the Fox Theater. I listen to all kinds of music, Latin, worship, rock, pop, trap, reggae, etc. There's nothing wrong with secular music. Love your videos, keep doing them please!

I wasn't a Christian 3 years ago but I started listening to the songs of Hillsong because I was hooked with most of it, until one day I realized it was slowly pulling me towards Christ Himself, and there was suddenly this hunger and burning desire to know Him. And now, here I am. Praising and worshipping Him all the way. To think it only started with me listening to their songs, right? I pray the Holy Spirit moves to you as well. God bless!

I was raised catholic but didnt feel God. As a teen i decided i was an athiest and that was that. A few years ago i was looking for God. I started attending a church with my cousin and the band played this song. I could instantly feel the overwhelming love of God come lver me in that room. It hit me so hard i cried. I will never forget that feeling.

This version was recorded at an annual Colour Conference for women. Also to help you understand, there are 3 different Hillsong bands : 1. Hillsong worship 2. Hillsong United 3. Hillsong Young & Free They are all part of one church but they go on tours and record separately, although the same singers or musicians sometimes play in different Hillsong bands. I hope that makes sens 🙂 so it is not a surprise when you see Joel or Taya singing with Hillsong Worship and so on.

@@katieakin1091 they're 2 distinctive bands. Hillsong United used to be a "youth band" made up all the singers and musicians in the youth ministry. But now no longer youth. Exactly... they're just a band. Young and free is the creative team for youth. That's musicians and singers not just the ones you see on video or tours. But the whole group within youth ministry. Hillsong worship is the collective members of creative team. So you could see the normal people you see on stage, but also people like Tracy Pratt Redfern or Eric Liljero and other singers and musicians from the creative team in other parts of the world. Brooke doesn't describe hillsong worship as a band. But people who have heard them see them as one. People in their church though, just see them as part of the creative team who represents God and our church as part of a larger church. Never separate. It can be confusing. And I guess that's why people tend to describe them as 3 bands

@@perinsitepu4256 college doesn't actually have a band per se. They have students from the creative stream rostered for worship team during college chapel. And those college students are also part of the larger creative team in church. Chapel isn't a band either. They were a few albums that were called chapel so people in a more intimate or traditional church can use them to sing in their setting. We would now label them as acoustic versions of different songs. Again. The people who sing in there are part of creative team. But would have been considered hillsong worship. So, they're not an actual band. But more like album titles.

I love these videos!!!! You should look up “Reckless Love” but the RU-vid version where Cory Asbury explains the meaning behind the song. Jesus took away my smoke addiction 2013. Like 2 month before that I was in a Christian meeting and meet Jesus there. I prayed to Jesus to help me with my smoke addiction. When I prayed he started to broke chains in my heart and I felt it. I felt the Holy Spirit within me fighting with something and I felt chains breaking in my heart and after that I cried like a baby for a really long time. Then 2 month later I went to a little church and Jesus took my smoke addiction away when there was prayer time. My friend prayed quiet for me and the Holy Spirit came upon me and took away the addiction. I have never in my life felt so much love in my heart like I did that day. I was filled with the Holy Spirit in hours after that. After that day I haven’t smoked one cigarette and I feel nothing for it. It is like I have never smoked in my life. That is how I became a Christian for real (I was a Christian but I didn’t knew Jesus and had never felt his present in that way before) And that is why I love these two songs because it summarise my meetings with Jesus and all love that I felt when he made his presence known for me🙏🏻💖✨and sorry for my English, i speak Swedish and my grammar in English is really lacking.

When i first became a Christian i only listened to Christian music sense music does in fact control my thoughts and feelings at some times. Listening to bad bunny talk about sex and drugs wasn’t helping my journey with God so i stopped listening to it. As a Vocalist/Musician after awhile listening to only Christian Music became more about the music then the passion and point behind it (To Worship) and so to combat that i’ve been alternating. Only listening when i’m being intentional with it (to worship) or wanting to practice my chords/vocals knowing what i’m going into.

Hallelujah. I remember when I started to only Christian music. It was very hard in the very beginning. In the first few months I would go back and forth. Now I've been at a point nothing else satisfies me when it comes to music.I'll go somewhere to a Mexican restaurant and will hear what I used to listen to and be like wow, that was so meaningless and empty. The music Hillsong Church is devided on 3 worship teams: Hillsong Young&Free, Hillsong United and the community of both, Hillsong Worship. Hillsong Worship is the section where all the people of Hillsong Y&F and United can colaborate together. But sometimes, someone of Y&F make colabs with United and in between. I recomend you "Gracious Tempest" by Taya Smith with Young&Free, is one example of what I was saying. Bless u bro! Love your videos.🙋💪👍

Hillsong worship is not a band per se. In terms of how they describe themselves. It's the collective singers and musicians from the same organisation. So you would see singers and musicians from hillsong united and hillsong young and free. Although to make things even more confusing, what people outside their church sees as hillsong young and free band would be different from how the band members see themselves. There are more singers and musicians who play for young and free. But the public only sees the face of those who go on tour. I may be mistaken but I think there's about 5000 creative volunteers in their church. Singers, musicians, dancers, production and tv crew etc. The people you see are only a tiny amount of the volunteer crew.

Hillsong Church is like the headquarters based in Sydney, Australia where the church started decades ago. Under the church, there are now three different bands that play under the Hillsong brand. Hillsong Worship, Hillsong United and Hillsong Young & Free. Hillsong Worship is the OG and used to be called Hillsong Live. The main singer who sings for United and sang Good Grace is Joel Houston, the founding pastor, Brian Houston’s son. So Hillsong Worship was the first band which came out in the 90s and then Hillsong United, under Joel Houston and former band member Marty Sampson, came out to target youth and young adults in the late 90s and early 2000’s. Now Hillsong Young & Free targets youth and United is more of a band for all ages I’d say. Hillsong Worship is a mix of all three bands and do duets and use the best voices to lead songs on its albums. This video of What a Beautiful Name was sung at Colour Conference, which is an anual women’s conference the church does. So everyone associated with Hillsong was there that night. Also Hillsong has four main drummers: Simon Kobler for United, Dan McMurray for Hillsong Worship and Brendan Tan for Young & Free. Harrison Wood is the drummer in this video, who plays a lot every Sunday during church services and plays for Hillsong Worship as well. Hope this helps!

I love this! I am a Christian , and I usually pay attention to the lyrics more than the music itself , but the way you pay attention to the music and creativity behind it is sooo amazing! It has made me realize even more how creative He has made us!! My suggestion , and if you have the time to listen to is “anything is possible by bethel” it’s a new song, but I love it so much! The lead singers voice is soo unique !!

I started attending church a few months ago after not having been in one for like 30 years and this song was played just one time by the church band. Hit me like a ton of rocks. The best worship song I've ever heard. Made me tear up the very first time I heard it. Something truly special. Fast forward another month or so and I'm baptized and all in with Jesus. This song played a crucial part in pulling me back in after having called myself an atheist for decades.

There are 3 Hillsong groups: Hillsong United, Hillsong Worship and Hillsong Young and Free. The guy with the long hair and glasses is JD (Johnathan Douglas). He plays in United. 3 years ago I went to see Hillsong United in Nashville TN, Detroit MI, and Jacksonville Fl. "What a beautiful name" won song of the year at the Christian Awards. On Nov.20,2022 Hillsong united is playing with Chris Tomlin in Charlotte NC. I've got 2 tickets on the 3rd row. I can't wait !!!!!

Hillsong United is one of three bands the church has; the other two are Hillsong Worship and Young and Free but because they are all in one worship team some of the band members overlap because a lot of the songs are recorded live at church conferences etc

Leonardo, wow I love you what you’re doing man. I love Christian music. Honestly it’s what helped bring me to fully know Jesus. It strengthens me, the strength and passion is unmatched. Once you truly hear the voice of God and understand that these words come directly from him... it will simply blow you away. I urge you to review by Hillsong is “So Will I - 100 Billion X” it is one of the greatest compositions I’ve heard that match build up to vocals. I would also really like to see you review Crowder - How He Loves. I think you would like Crowder’s style.

If he wants raw emotion there is also the John Mark McMillan version of How He Loves Us. That one gets even more emotional than Crowder’s. I’d also say Crowder’s “Lift Your Head Weary Sinner” and “Chains”.

I went on a youth retreat as a leader, and to be honest, I was really struggling with my faith at that time. I was very broken and I wrestled with God about my position as a youth leader because I didn't feel like I was going to be "useful". I felt like I would disappoint my youth, my other leaders, and God. It just didn't seem right for me to be a leader when I was harboring feelings of unworthiness, I was so consumed with anxiety that I wouldn't be a good role model and lead my youth group confidently. I remember hearing this song for the first time on the first day of the retreat. It hit a nerve and I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I did devotions and really reflected on the words of this song. On the second night of the retreat, the band sang this song again.....and I pretty much wept the entire time. God is good. He is faithful in every season, i'm so glad and grateful that worship music like this exists because even if you're not a Christian and you don't believe in God, His Spirit is moving and He will speak to you...just be still and really listen to the words.

Hi Leonardo! I just wanted to say that God loves you so freaking much and is waiting with his arms open so wide. He is patient and kind and he is seeing over you. He can’t wait for you to know him more and he longs for that relationship with you as well. In the song Raise a Hallelujah by Bethel Music (highly recommend this song) there’s a lyric that says “my weapon is a melody” and I just really love that because it’s such a great reminder of how powerful music is and how powerful a voice can be when directed to God. I used to have such a hard time listening to God and talking to him since I can’t see him. But singing and using my voice as a weapon against my thoughts and directing my feelings towards God really helped. I enjoyed watching this video and the Oceans video! it’s so great hearing your commentary on the different musical aspects that i failed to notice before, it’s amazing! Anyways, I cant wait to see what God will do in your life and with you. you’re amazing !!

The beautiful thing about Hillsong UNITED and Hillsong worship is that they are two bands/movements from the same church. So the leaders are fairly fluid in collaborating and joining each other in songwriting. A lot of the musicians have their 'main' band that they identify with but also sing with, play with or write with other worship streams at the church.

hi Leonardo, I'm Pam from Northern Ireland . I love a lot of styles of music but because I have severe M.E/CFS I am unable to listen to much music because it makes me more ill .So I choose to listen to songs that lift my spirit and honour my God .I used to play some guitar/piano/drums and love to sing when I have the strength . I loved to listen to a live orchestra in concert on the rare occasion I got the chance I haven't been well enough to listen to all your songs but this is one of my fav songs .I think you'd maybe like the hillsong united live version from Israel . I’m so happy I found you and your channel. I’ve been in church all of my life, since I was a child, when I got older I went to college for music and I became the worship director at my church. Then I moved states and that was 5 years ago. In the last few years my faith hasn’t been as strong and I’ve struggle with it. But finding this videos and watching your journey has been amazing and brought me back to that feeling I use to get.
