I'm here for the first time, it was the title "non-christian reacts..." which brought me here. Please, could you tell me more about you being non-christian and still having a prayer group? Thank you. I hope this isn't too nosy...

@@annaklimesova2232 Anna...I asked and was told that Mr Torres has received Jesus as his Savior. I think the prayer groups started afterward.

I also like the difference between the Pharisee who came in telling his wife to hurry and get the best seat, and Jesus who took the seat at the bottom of the table.

To add to this, there is also significance to where Jesus sat during dinner. Mary accidentally set a place for Elijah - the prophet who was to return one day. The Jewish people usually set a place at the table for Elijah at the Passover meal. There are five cups of wine used during the Passover meal. Four are there to celebrate different aspects of the goodness and provision of God. The fifth cup is meant to represent the wrath of God- His justice. Rabbis debated over including the fifth cup in Passover. Then the debate was if it should be consumed. The Rabbis finally decided to let Elijah decide when He returned. So the cup of wrath sits untouched during Passover. Because Elijah hasn't returned, it is poured out and the decision is delayed one more year. Jesus told His followers that John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah. He was the prophesied Elijah that came to announce the arrival of Messiah. Of course, since the Rabbis misunderstood Elijah’s return, they were not going to get the actual prophet to help them settle their debates. Instead, Jesus cleared things up for us. During the Last Supper - a Passover meal- Jesus drank from three of the four cups- but he skipped the fourth cup- the cup of God’s protection. He even told His disciples that He would not drink the cup with them again until they were together in His Father’s kingdom (Matthew 26:29). Not long after that, Jesus spent time praying to His Father in the garden. Jesus' prayer was to allow "the cup" to pass from Him. He prayed with great agony three times. This cup is clearly the fifth cup- the cup of God’s wrath. If we got what we earned for our sins, no man could survive God’s judgement. Only God the Son - the perfect, sinless man- could take the payment of our sins on Himself. By doing that, He provided a way of escape. He rescued us all and offers a way out through His mercy and grace. “God made him [Jesus] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” - 2 Corinthians 5:21 With just a simple setup, the creators of The Chosen quietly showed us Jesus sitting in Elijah’s seat. That is because He loves us and would ultimately decide to drink the fifth cup for us and for all mankind.

The first star being out is the "sign" they watched for to know that Shabbat had begun, I think. Then in the story, "THE Light" comes. Fantastic story telling.

If no one has mentioned it, Mary saved a space for Elijah. Jesus is later equated with Elijah, as a prophet of God declaring God's salvation.

i get confused with all the James’ as there seems to be a lot of them; is this James son of Alphaeus (Mark 3:18 & Matthew 10:3), and is Thaddaeus his brother? also Mark 2:14 says that Levi (which other accounts call Matthew) is also the son of Alphaeus, is he a brother too? and Matthew 13:55 says Jesus also has a brother called James... i get so confused with names and who’s who

@@whimbrella There are 3 James. James the brother of Jesus who didn't believe he was the Messiah until after he saw him resurrected from the dead and then became an Apostle of the early Church. James the brother of John the sons of Zebadee he was apart of Jesus inner circle of Disciples with John and Peter. And James the Lesser who is either the son of Thaddeus or his brother. There is debate on if James the Lesser and Thaddeus are brothers or father and son because it's not really clear which, but I lean on the side that they are brothers given the fact that James th Lesser father is named Alphaeus. Also there is some debate on whether James the Lesser is the same as James the brother of Jesus, but most agree that they are two different people. Hope that helps a little.

God's laws are the same in the past, present and future. All things shall perish but His Word will remain. Parents laws for our good. I remembered these verses 😊: a. Hebrew 12: 5-11 “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?If you are not disciplined-and everyone undergoes discipline-then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." b. He's my fav! Did you catch the part when he started following Jesus, he asked Jesus if he wants him to leave his notebook behind and Jesus says no you may need it. Hence Matthew wrote one of the gospels. There's quite a few of them moments throughout the show

As an autistic person he is also a favorite of mine but there are two other autistic apostles you will see them in later episodes

Yes. Anything new age related. Also yoga is Hindu so Christians should not do it. I am a former reiki master(I was under demonic oppression the whole time, but not possession.) this means; no reiki/energy healing, meditation, yoga, sound bowls, crystals, etc. just as you said it opens you up to that realm. Not good. I’m now saved a little over a month. When I was practicing reiki essentially the whole time aside from the brief honeymoon period, I was in a constant existential crisis. Obsession/fear/preoccupation with death. That is gone. Like Mary said “I was one way, and now I am completely different, and the difference in between was Him.” 🙏😊 it is a beautiful thing
