Welcome to my CyberLab channel. In one of my old videos from March 2018, I demonstrated the operation of a capacitive, non-contact liquid level sensor XKC-Y25.
The approximate cost of this sensor with delivery from aliexpress is plus or minus 300 rubles. But on the same aliexpress you can buy its alternative for only 7 rubles. And for those who do not want to wait for a parcel for 2 months, you can purchase such a sensor in Russia for 30 rubles.
And yes, you are probably very surprised that I use an ordinary capacitive TTP223 button as a water sensor. Its principle of operation is the same as that of the water sensor, capacitance measurement, and since the human body is also a fairly large container with liquid, the capacitive button and the liquid sensor will perform the same functions. It is surprising that the button works no worse than the XKC-Y25 sensor. I tested it for several days and did not find any flaws. By default, the button is set to maximum sensitivity and responds to absolutely everything except thin plastic. To reduce sensitivity, I soldered a 40pF capacitor, unfortunately I did not have a smaller capacitor at hand. Therefore, with such a capacitor, the sensitivity of the sensor has greatly decreased. I think it is optimal to use a capacitance of 10pF. As you can see, there is no difference, which means you should not overpay for the XKC-Y25.
I hope this video was helpful to you. Subscribe to the channel and like. If you want not to miss my new and interesting videos, then do not forget to turn on the bell..
