I have a smashed up back and shoulders. The nerve damage requires repair about every 6 months, (at an outpatient operational facility of Stanford) but I have found it utterly impossible to get transportation back to my home from any procedure. (Emeryville Ca to Oakland Ca...8 miles away) I can get there, but all of my friends are dead now...there is no one to bring me back. I live in Oakland Ca. only 8 miles from the Emeryville, Ca Stanford med center. I have spent over 3 years trying to get the physical damage repaired, but I have had to cancel procedures many times...for lack of transport within a major city. It's there, but Stanford won't let me use it BY POLICY. I may simply stop seeking medical help. If I need it but can't get back from it, I don't get it. I expect this process will eventually kill me, if only from the stress and depression it causes. I'm 8 miles from being dead.

I used a NET ordered by hospital. When we reached my destination , a skilled nursing facility they attempted to take me or roll me out on the gurney. The person ground pulled lost handle grip and dumped me off gurney. My head hit the door bending my neck & reinjured my neck & spine. My pad (computer) went flying, hit ground in pieces. The company bought me a new cover then stopped contact. I hired an attorney and they sent me to chiropractor. Since then they dropped my case last week with no reason. My experience with a N.E.T.

I'm on SSDI and on Mississippi Medicaid. I don't drive and was home alone at the time. Recently I thought I was I thought having a stroke which turned out to be the worst most severe anxiety attack that I've had in my entire life. That might I called an ambulance because I realized that I had barely eaten or drank anything in an entire day. My last thought was I was convinced I was going to die. Now I'm going extremely worried that I'm going to have a huge bill that I can't possibly afford to pay for upwards of $600+ which is literally less than half of my SSDI. This is causing me extremely anxiety and stress which I already have and don't need. What do I do? I don't know what to do and need help.

Well, with this advise. .It's no wonder people continue to die from not having proper medical treatment. These so-called mandatory federal programs fall on DEAF STATE EARS. Whether or not the State is receiving funding, it certainly is NOT getting out to all those who require help with getting transportation to the places they need. The State certainly has NO PROBLEM with towing off vehicles of those without funds to keep them insured or registered. And stacking the drivers with fines, tow fees, surcharges, license suspensions. Then they face arrests for not being able to pay. Not only does this cause the loss of funds to provide themselves with food and shelter, but also takes their only source of transportation for these necessities and their medical treatments. So, the State has legislated its citizens into a state of despair, for the purpose of taking funds from those likely to die due to revenue needs of the lawmakers.
