NON-LOCAL DUO ATTEMPT TO MURDER NAGA AUTO DRIVER, ARRESTED BY POLICE

On March 18, an incident occurred where two individuals not from the local community attempted to murder Kumughato, a Naga auto driver residing in Seiuruzah colony, Chumukedima district. According to the victim, Azarad Ali (25 years old) and Amir Hussain (23 years old) were identified as the assailants. Following the attack, an FIR was filed at Chumukedima Police Station, prompting swift action from the authorities. The police promptly apprehended the two suspects, who are currently in custody.

Pertinently, Section 307 of the IPC prescribes punishment for attempt to murder. The punishment can extend up to 10 years and in case the victim is hurt, then the maximum punishment is imprisonment for life.
