Reagan fired all the striking ATC’s in the 80’s. What prevents the D3 from doing the same thing today? These “scabs” are willing to work for what the automaker is willing to pay as a wage, and the UAW workers aren’t. Can’ t the striking workers find a job that will pay them what they want?
I personally own a Jeep. It has now been at a shop for over 45 days due to this strike… I am having to pay payments on my Jeep that I cannot even use due to this strike although I sympathize with the workers think they should get a decent pay to survive this world this also effects more then just workers. Personally I am glad to see some one can go into these plants hopefully start making parts because I am going to end up loosing my vehicle if it don’t get fixed to where I can afford to pay for payment but not my payment insurance deductible rental fees ect
Everyone can’t do those jobs trust me you can’t pull anyone off the street and say here go build a car or go do repairs do you want just anyone working on your brand new car????
@@bobbyjohnson1739 people can be trained. Everyone had to learn at some time. Maybe this will be a tipping point and they can get enough non union workers in there and get rid of the union.
@@bobbyjohnson1739no offense man, but you could train a monkey to do those jobs 😂 y'all been spoiled too long over there and forgot that there's people who do things that require real skill. I'm not speaking on the engineers or electricians, etc. But those assembly lines are a joke. And this is coming from somebody who has not only worked there but also supports unions. Other than skilled trades, there's not a job in that place that's worth more than $30/hr top out. Jmo though. Can't be mad at people who NEED to work to support their families. Regardless of any personal opinions on scabs. You all knew what you were signing up for when you went on strike. Stand by it. Don't complain about the consequences.
I was on strike for 4 months and after we lost everything we went back to work and then got shut down after 9 months they moved our job to a non union plant and closed us down. Watch out for what a company can do to you with their billions people. You are just a body to them and Can be replaced. Also if it's a good deal but not all that you wanted remember you will be back at the table in 5 years to renegotiate don't be greedy.
The UAW is about to strike themselves out of a job. Those workers that got brought in aren't there to restart production. They are packing up the equipment and getting ready to ship it to Mexico.
The UAW is absolutely wrong and I have no problems with the management doing what they are doing . The labor union was offered a 25% pay raise and other things that included better retirement benefits and they turned it down . What worker in America would turn down a 25% pay raise . So the labor union has definitely lost my support .
I support what UAW is doing but real life everyone is replaceable. For that matter every job is replaceable as well. You can fire them just as easily as they can fire you.
Ssshhh! Don’t tell anyone! That doesn’t make for such a controversial, clickbait story! But yeah, my plant isn’t on strike but currently idled due to lack of parts. So of course we have outside contractors in here right now, doing things like ductwork cleaning, bathroom remodeling, etc.
The UAW may want to rethink their stance, you demand more but you have replacement workers not getting as much willing to cross the line. As time progresses more and more replacement workers, SCABS, will be willing to cross the line and the UAW workers pockets will become leaner.
And all of those people are the very reason that the rich are getting richer and the middle class is dying and the poor are getting poorer. Those people are more like crabs in a barrel and not scabs.. Scabs help wounds heal, but these low life people just want everyone to be low like them.
@@Novusod I work at a Jeep dealership parts dept. I’ve been telling my coworkers that that the UAW picketers will soon be wanting back their regular paycheck. They’re accustomed to getting more per week and will likely demand a settlement sooner than later.
I can’t disagree as I once toured the Corvette plant, and what I saw wasn’t many people that I’d consider weren’t easily replaceable. Most of automobile assembly is automated for consistency. Any 16 year old can observe when something fails and press the STOP Button. For safety reasons I’m glad that welding is mostly done by robots. At least they don’t have poor workmanship from time to time when not feeling like caring about quality work on any given day.
The only reason those people were able to get through was because the police who were (standing by) were actually forcing people to move and letting them through
I have to laugh, how much do you UAW think that your worth ? No college degree, No risk if the company loses money, No risk that you could be fired at any given time. NO risk, NO reward
I'm in a union. Most of my colleagues only possess a HS diploma. There is nothing wrong with that, but most are not skilled in any way. Most cannot read a tape measure. I possess safety certificates through the state, and I have experience with heavy machinery and tools. The fact is 2/3 of the workforce could be replaced tomorrow, and the operation wouldn't skip a beat. I would end the strike and go back to work if I were them. See if McDonald's will pay you $50 hr.
Good for them. People need jobs. Apparently a lot of people think what they pay is fair. Get enough of them in there and you won't have a union problem anymore. Fain you r high school educated leader has over played his hand and people have had enough
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the BP refinery on strike for over 4 months? (Now that's a strike) And when are you all (uaw) going to be on strike....not this partial, working with the company joke? Is the uaw president, committee men, stewarts, still collecting a check? Juuuust wondering?
The targeted strike seemed odd to me, but it is working. Ford and the UAW reached an agreement. They should be back to work in a couple of days. Now the other two will panic.
I was a traveling trash for many years. Many UAW workers were once scabs themselves. All industries hire contractors to become permanent employees. Even the media workers were once scabs themselves. Companies don't like hiring green horns.
😂😂😂 i’m one of the outside workers , i’m so thankful i go hired on directly no orientation no bs , no probation period just good old fashioned hiring 😂😂
You see when it’s 4 1/2 years from now how many jobs are still here and not outsourced or filled with robotics, have fun. Bank that new money you uaw workers.
No you don’t have 0 idea plenty of people come in and quit cuz they can’t handle the work in fact half the people in every hiring group quits within the 90 days only the strong survives so it’s impossible to know until you’ve worked minimum 90 days straight
@@jilearjackson9863 Back in the day, I walked off the line just 1 day before being hired in at Ford because it was something I couldn't see myself doing from the age of 18 until retirement. For 89 days I endured being drenched in sweat because the moment I mastered a repetitive task, a guy watching me while jotting down notes on a clipboard kept adding jobs that others alongside of me were doing. It got to the point I was doing the work of 4 people. I saw no other way out but to end the abuse and send a message to the slave-driver to ease off the next victim to fill that position. It seems some people have no idea what goes on in those assembly plants.
Try walking away from your girl friend for a month and see if she replaces you. You cant blame the lucky guy filling your spot when you chose to leave.
Robots do all the technical work. If not for P.E.T.A. assembly lines would have been staffed by chimps long ago. And im pretty sure happy newbies will do a far better job than disgruntled out of shape uaw any day.
@@MA-yl1er most of the best machinists I know, non uaw, are fat and out of shape. Overall, mfg employees in general arent usually the healthiest lot. UAW is par for the course. And if you think their lazy go try it.
These scabs are just union employees that have bills to pay. They already know how to do the job but with landlords about to evict their families into the street and the bank threatening to repo their car these people have to get back to work. It is not their fault the union is corrupt and doesn't let them work.
For all you union workers just remember the next time the police need your help or these elected officials need your vote and tell your family to not buy General Motors or Ford,Dodge,or Jeeps
I'm not sure who or why these people were brought into the plant this morning but they wouldn't be able to run the assembly line for very long before running out of parts, and I did not hear anything about truckloads of parts coming into the plant. The auto industry runs on a JIT (Just In Time) delivery system to save on inventory and warehousing costs, meaning parts only arrive to the plant within windows of a few hours prior to being needed on the line - requiring multiple truckloads of parts delivered to the plant throughout a single production shift.
They were possibly various salaried personnel and/or contract workers being brought in to evaluate parts of the assembly line or put together projects they need to work on soon. The strike will be over soon now anyway. They have a tentative agreement with Ford now, and the UAW has informed all their members on strike at Ford to go back to work immediately, meaning head back to work in the next few days (per forthcoming instructions) while this TA is reviewed internally with the UAW and its members, and then voted on. If, for some reason the membership were to vote it down at Ford, then they would probably call them back out on strike ..... but that's a fairly unlikely scenario. Stellantis doesn't want to drag this out (neither does GM) and they'll most likely have a tentative agreement by early next week.
Stellantis products are already shiet. Now they brought in a bunch of workers who have no idea what they’re doing? Those vehicles are going to fall apart as soon as they get off the delivery trucks!!! 🤦🏻♂️
Now that the UAW reached an agreement with Ford, the other two will have to start seriously negotiating, or hire more scabs. When Ford reopens... the other two will panic. 😎
Here’s a fact for you. In the last 50 years how many scabs got to keep their job after the contract was settled???????? ZZZEEERRROOO. To all you scab workers. Hope u didn’t quit a good job. You will get kicked out…….. Fact…… just food for thought.🫣🫣🫣
