According to Nong O youtube channel, he said he already lost consciousness at the first fall 00:01:50. He was not aware of anything from that point on, his body was just moved by the muscle memory. At 00:03:53, he was still experiencing the blackout and did not realize that Haggerty paid respect to him (this is why he did not pay respect back). He mentioned the loss was not 100% a mistake from his game plan, but he gave a lot of credit to Haggerty's hardworking. At the end of the video, he congratulated Haggerty and said he will not give up and will surely bring the belt back.

Watching the fight again you can clearly see from the first knockdown that he was still out of it when he stood up. The warriors body continuing on without consciousness. Truly one of the greats.

I feel bad for Nong-o but at the same time i so glad to see Jonathan win the world title, his work so hard and i really appreciate One Championship willing to give him another opportunity and he just passed the test.

they will not.. haggerty will not go at 135 flyweight anymore and rodtang has iron chin at 135.. haggerty will be nerf if he do that, he lost twice because of that. but at 145 its a natural weight for haggerty. haggerty used to be a featherweight and lightweight muay thai fighter. and at the interview rodtang and haggerty agree to fight if it's MMA.

He didnt win because of skill or physique, he just used the fact that Nong-O is a thai and they are normally slow starters so obv haggerty opened at max capacity and took Nong-O by surprise. Brains won this match. Plain and simple.

both phenomenal athletes in their sport. i absolutely respect them both and a fight is still a fight. everything can happen. this day jon got the better but tbh watching it for the second time, to me it seemed nong-o already found his rythm and pushed the pace with hard kicks until he got caught with this nice shot of jon.. imo a rematch mb would be too soon idk.. i want them both to be 100% again and that must be physical and mental.. also i think the 3rd match with rodtang can wait.. if its not nong-o for the insta rematch give liam a try.. i mean liam also doesnt get younger so.. 🙏💯✌✊💙

What a nice, well planned ko cause when nong o backed him up, jonathan landed a hard body shot, then faked the body shot by looking down as if he was going to throw it again which made nong o head lean towards haggerty cross and that was the first knock down that started everything well done 👏

Love warching this over and over again. Unlike boxing matches, lots of boxers tend to run about and not in attack mode. ( i reckon its to conserve energy for 12 rounds) and it makes it less exciting. Whereas this fight, 2 warriors put their life out there to bring the best entertainment for us. Simply applaud Haggerty for this amazing win! Outstanding precision striking.

@@LiwaySaGu So what, that 36 is prime age for a fighters and he is only under two lb lighter. Haggerty trained super hard while Nong-O played down and didn't take his opponent seriously, I already brought this up in the comments before the match and predicted that there is no coming second round.

In Muay Thai, the thais retire around 26. We used to say it was insane Saenchai was competing at 34 back in 2014. Muay thai affects the body very hard and thais start very young - Nong-o came out of retirement for OneFC. 36 maybe physical prime (the very end) but most Thai’s bodies and reflexes are shot by late 20’s early 30’s. But nong-o is clearly a diff beast considering he was champ. So give Jon his props… No excuses for Nong-o he underestimated Jon and got caught

It was about time someone beat Nong-O, and Haggerty beating him makes the division all the more interesting now. Although it was a brutal loss for Nong-O, I'm glad that Haggerty won the title, he really deserves it.

He beat a very dominant champion of the division, he deserves credit for this. Also I wouldn't call him lazy - he went up a weight class which brings with it a whole host of new challenges with regards to training and competition
